preface

Confucius climbed the East Mountain and Xiaolu, climbed Mount Tai and the world.

One sand and one world, one flower and one paradise. The palm of the hand is infinite, and the moment becomes eternity.

Different visions, different ways of looking at things, and different feelings. Standing at the height of history, a person's life is like a white horse passing by, fleeting; From the perspective of summer insects, life is extremely long, and it can even cross the harsh winter; From the perspective of bacteria, everything is born and died. With the change of perspective, people's perception of things is also different. Looking up at the starry sky, I feel the vastness of the universe; Looking down at the ants, sigh at the weakness of life. Mustard seeds Na Sumeru, the end of the treasure temple.

As the Buddhist saying goes: a sand is a world, a flower is a paradise, a tree is a bodhi, and a leaf is the same. On a macro scale, our universe is like a grain of sand, and we are just dust within the dust, a sand of the Ganges. The universe is infinite and particles can be divided. What's outside the universe and inside the particles? The world is between infinity and infinitesimity, between the instant and the eternal.

Buddhism has clouds: if you look at one of the red leaves to a tree, you will not see his leaves. If the eyes are more than one leaf, and the heart is directed to a tree, then the leaves of a tree are in full view. Therefore, if the heart stops at a leaf, it will not see him; If the heart is more than one leaf, you can see thousands of leaves.

In this universe, what we can perceive, touch, observe, hear, and even understand is just a drop in the ocean. It's easy to get our minds thrown into confusion when it's all sorts of bizarre and varied. It's not easy to expand your imagination and understand the wider world. After all, arrogant humans hope and think that they can figure out all the mysteries of the universe, but in reality we can't.

Don't say that it doesn't exist, it's impossible, there are only answers in this world that we don't touch, and there are no unsolvable propositions. It's not nothing, it's not greater than nothing, it's not smaller than nothing, it needs to be built out of nothingness. Yes, this is vanity.

Not only do we know very little about the common light, but we are also confused about the time that passes between our fingers. What is the nature of time? How does it work? How do we measure our place in the ephemeral and objective rhythm of time? For particles, a millionth of a second is long enough; But if you stand at the height of the universe, then a million years is just a blink of an eye.

However, for the cells that make up the human body, there are several reincarnations. Every 10 years, every cell in our body is renewed at least once, and almost none of the cells in the adult body are left over from childhood, only memories and self-awareness last for life. As roboticist Steve Grande said, we are not the same person as our childhood selves at all, and we as adults are just strangers who have inherited our early memories.

When human beings face the entire unknown universe, they are as humble and insignificant as an ant on the earth facing the whole earth. From the perspective of time and space, the birth of the universe is not long; The birth of human beings is not short. But when you put the two together, you can feel that the whole of humanity is just a flick of a finger in the earth's changes. Standing at the height of the universe, the earth is also insignificant, like dust in the sand. People are the dust of the dust.

'What's the matter with the snail's horn?' This life is parasitized in the light of stone fire. 'All the power and strife in the world, the glory and wealth have turned into a cloud of smoke, and the only thing that will last forever may be the immortal spirit of human exploration.

One sand and one world, one flower and one paradise. The palm of the hand is infinite, and the moment becomes eternity.

'It will be the top of the mountain, and you can see the mountains at a glance. 'To think about the mysteries of the universe, we must think outside of ourselves, overcome the inherent mindset of human beings, always remain curious, not ashamed of knowing too little, and not afraid to explore; Then in the long river of time, we will definitely learn more knowledge, discover more secrets, accumulate stronger abilities, explore the breadth and depth of the universe, and embrace the infinite possibilities they bring.
