Chapter 3: Bandages

Great fear seized me. I clutched my stomach and tried to resist the urge to vomit, while clutching the drain even tighter, for fear that the paralysis would strip me from the life-saving pipe.

Ke Jingfeng's body was robbed by zombies, and it was soon difficult to find a trace. I closed my eyes, trembling with fear. I wanted to scream loudly, but I couldn't make a sound in my throat, so I could only vent it with choking and tears.

How did the world suddenly become like this? My classmates, who were still shouting loudly in the morning, died tragically in front of my eyes. Not only that, but once familiar faces have become strange demons one by one.

It was only when death was so imminent that I realized what was happening in the world. At the same time, I realized that I would face it all alone until death came or I would become a walking corpse.

It was terriblely dark, and the rust on the drain pipe spread to the hands, invaded the body, and followed the blood to the internal organs. The air is filled with coarse particles.

I knew I had to get out of here. But where to flee? It seems to be the same everywhere.

The face of the girl I had just abandoned suddenly came to mind, and that face would soon become fragmented like everyone else?

"Damn!" I gritted my teeth and continued to climb up. I'm sorry, but I have to survive......

Looking at my phone, it's only 5:10. It was only half an hour from that sleepy class, but it was as long as a whole century.

I cautiously poked my head out of the bathroom, and there was no one around, and the dark clouds outside the window occasionally flashed in lightning, illuminating the hallway aisles, adding to the confusion and horror.

Li Chen, Li Chen, are you crazy? I cursed myself in my heart.

From time to time, there were screams in the distance, and the smell of corpses was faintly in the nose, and behind each door seemed to be closed several zombies, ready to tear off the flesh of the defenseless...... But at this time, I chose to go back to the third floor.

It was pouring rain outside the window, and the hallway was pitch black.

As I passed the staircase, I couldn't help but gasp, where had everyone gone? The staircase, which was full of people just now, is now silent. Since there is no light, nothing can be seen here.

I trembled and reached for my phone in my trouser pocket. Do you want to light up the screen and look around? I immediately dismissed the idea, for upon closer listening there seemed to be a slight sound of breathing, but it seemed to be coming from a distance. I didn't want to think about it, so I cautiously walked towards the classroom by the window.

For some reason, books and stationery were scattered along the long corridors, making it impossible to stop. Some windows were smashed and spills of glass were spilled all over the floor. I picked up an iron leg that had belonged to a desk but had been broken by artificially speaking, and with a weapon, I felt a little calmer.

This once familiar place is now completely unfamiliar to me, except for the door number on the wall that can indicate its location. I quietly lit up my phone screen, and the faint light only illuminated a short range.

The words on the door number must be attentive to see clearly, "high school class 3", "high school class 14", "high school class 15" ...... When I finally arrived at the eighth class of high school, I was already sweating all over my body. However, before I could relax, a terrifying sound scared me.

I trembled and poked my head out and glanced out the front door of the eighth class of high school. At this glance, I almost collided head-on with a dark shadow, but fortunately, I immediately hid in the back door of the next class, crouched down by a window, and felt a sense of foreboding in my heart. Through the crack in the door, a figure could be seen shuffling by.

- What's that??

I was about to look up and peek at it, "Smack!" A face slammed against the glass window, and I was so frightened that I immediately shrank back. I felt the gaze of that face begin to roam the room. I didn't dare to come out, I covered my mouth and trembled.

Soon, the footsteps moved again, slowly walking away.

My chest heaved violently and I gasped heavily. Although I escaped for the time being, the premonition of death filled me like never before.

Li Chen, Li Chen, if you don't want to die, run away! There's no way that girl is still alive!

My knees trembled slightly, and I buried my head in my knees, trying to stop the trembling.

One more look, one more look and then go, I thought to myself.

So I got down and crawled out of the classroom, just about two meters away, but I crawled terrified, dangerous, nervous so that I didn't even realize the coldness of the concrete floor.

I leaned against the wall and took a deep breath, then a spirit, looking inside.

Nothing......

Although the tables and chairs were a little messy, there was nothing unusual to see. The girl probably ran away too...... Just as I was comforting myself like this, lightning suddenly lit up everything outside the window.

The trembling all over my body could not be stopped. Even though it was only for a moment, what I saw was firmly attached to my retina like a Polaroid image.

On the floor by the window, on the side of the altar, and on several desks, human fragments of flesh and organs and intestines spilled everywhere, and blood and fat were dipped all over the floor...... The most terrifying thing is that these corpses are surrounded by a large number of zombies in school uniforms, enjoying their food to their heart's content.

I couldn't help but retch twice, but I didn't make a sound, and I was already sweating profusely. I have to go, I have to run away from everything, maybe it's the smell of corpses that keeps them from discovering me, but if I stay any longer, something will go wrong.

I took care not to make a sound as I stepped back. At this time, the white flickered, and something came into view.

It's a bandage! Behind the door, a bandaged foot was shaking. Looking up, the girl was looking at me through the crack in the door, covering her mouth, and tears the size of beans were falling. If I hadn't been experiencing this right now, I'd probably have laughed bitterly.
