Chapter 6: Wonderful World (II): XXXIV
Kuroko was finally found by Najie. It turned out that Kuroko was attacked by the Killing Tree when he was squatting on the ground, and he was caught off guard and quickly covered by the vines of the Killing Tree. When Najie found Kuroko, Kuroko was only breathing weakly, and he was already unconscious. We had to cut two branches, weave them into a simple stretcher with a trekking rope, and take turns carrying him forward.
Because it took too much time to find the sunspots, we didn't walk forward for a long time, and by the time we reached the lake, it was almost dark. According to Naj, we had to walk for most of the day to reach the temple. The investigation team had no choice but to set up camp near the mountains and rivers.
I know that there are countless lakes in Tibet. These lakes are like the heart of the plateau, pure and bright. Among these lakes, there are sacred lakes that are full of worshippers, and there are sacred lakes that are proud of the world, but there are many more lakes that are unknown to outsiders. Anyone who has ever visited these lakes knows that although they are unknown, they have their own style and are equally beautiful.
The lake is a mountain lake on the plateau, and I had heard Doler mention it before I set out. I asked the tribesmen about the lake, but they couldn't come up with a reason. Even our guide, Naj, only said that it was a beautiful lake. No one knows the stories and legends of the lake, or the lake is a lake without stories and legends. This amazes me at how rare a lake without any stories or legends is nowadays, especially in Tibet, where there are many wonders and legends. In other words, the lake is still a natural lake, and it has not been endowed with any subjective color of human beings. From this point of view, the lake is a lake of holiness in the truest sense of the word.
This season, the colors of the lake are fascinating. In the distance, the blue sky is boundless. Under the blue sky is a mountain with open arms; On the chest of the mountain, there are clusters of red leaves; At the foot of the mountain, there is a lush forest. Along the edge of the forest, there is a world of autumn leaves. These autumn leaves swayed in the morning wind, and the patches were as red as small flags, and little by little like small flames burning. In the middle of this red surrounding, there is a clear water surface, like a huge dewdrop, crystal clear on a red leaf.
It is a tranquil lake, with mirror-like water, reflecting the embrace of the mountains and the purity of the sky. The lake has no branches, no lead, no covering. This lake is as holy as innocence. Without words, the inner world is the light, illuminating the desires of all hearts. Everywhere the wind passed, the star-like flickering waves sparkled, like little elves, dancing as they wished.
After setting up camp, my sister and I went around the lake. Walking up a hillside, I realized that the lake we had seen before was just a corner of the lake. Looking back from this hillside, the surface of the lake in that corner is now like a blue satin, shining in the sun.
Standing on this hillside, you can see the general shape of the lake. When I came, the surface of the roadside lake looked like a mulberry leaf. Directly opposite the lake is like a corner of a maple leaf. The turquoise water of the lake reflects the green trees on the shore, the pale green mountains behind the trees, the red leaves in the mountains, and the abstract pen-frame-like mountains behind the red leaves, stretching and undulating. The lake on the other side looks like a slender willow leaf, and from here, it looks like a sparkling wave. At the end of the waves, there is a sea of forests.
Following the path, we go around the lake. We walked through the autumn leaves and jumped from pine to pineapple. We listened to the sound of the mountain wind blowing in the leaves, and the whispers of the lake water on the shore.
At the meeting of a stream and a lake, Ah Mei stopped, and she lay down in a patch of grass by the lake and refused to get up. She said she was here to savor it. We are backed by a tree with red leaves, in the warm sun, the refreshing wind caressing our bodies, listening to the melody of the lake gently spreading to the shore, it is indeed a very pleasant thing.
But Ah Mei suddenly became less emotional, as if she had something on her mind.
I asked Ah Mei what was wrong? Ah Mei said that she thought of death. I was stunned for a moment, and asked Ah Mei to quickly give up this strange idea. Ah Mei said that she also wanted to forget this thought, but no matter how hard she tried to forget, there was always something like a hazy fog condensed in her heart. The more she tried to forget, the more the condensed thing formed a simple, clear shape. She felt that death was not the opposite of life, but that death was actually an integral part of life. And it's the most important part. For her, the simple, clear shape of the thing she felt was everywhere. Even like tiny dust in the air, we are slowly sucking it into our lungs, and then it is floating in our lungs, in every corner of our body.
Ah Mei said that before, she regarded death as a complete opposite to life. Death means that one day, when life is gone, death will replace life. Conversely, life does not disappear until death appears. She has always felt that this is the most normal and reasonable way of thinking. Born on one side, death on the other, there is a clear distinction. And she is naturally on the side of life, not on the side of death. From now on, however, she can no longer see death and life as one. Because for her, death is no longer the opposite of life. The two have become entangled. No matter how hard she tried, she still couldn't forget it. In this way, she felt the condensation of the hazy mist, and at the same time felt the inside of life, and everything revolved around death.
Ah Mei said that she always thought that only life was the most profound truth. Now she understands that death is also a profound fact.
I listened to Ah Mei's words, and a picture of a swamp suddenly appeared in my mind, which was a swamp that made people feel helpless. With each step, the shoe will fall off completely from the mud. Sometimes, the mire will also display a strong suction, sucking the person's feet tightly, or not moving, or gradually dragging the person into the depths of the swamp. He saw that Ah Mei was walking very hard in such mud. She couldn't see anything in front of her, and no matter how she walked, there was only an endless swamp of mud in front of her. Her steps faltered. There was only the smell of swamp around, and only she was shuffling around in the mud. The world around you changes in any way. That's all right, it's just a meaningless background painting after Ah Mei crawls. Ah Mei raised her face, and all that appeared in front of her was a swamp that never ended. She couldn't find her place, and she couldn't be sure if she was going in the right direction. But she has to move forward, she has to move forward step by step.
Suddenly, there was a sting in my heart that I had never felt before.
