640, Broken Isles
Du Teng has a lot of plans, and in the end, he just wants to mess around in this world.
He is a doppelganger created by the ontology, of course, he exists in the form of a physical body, not a simple doppelganger technique, the kind that can be easily destroyed.
So the world of Azeroth was a playground for him, a place where he could roam as he pleased. The purpose of establishing an alliance is to add some variables to this world, and the same is true for bringing Vanessa and Lanny back, so he can't help but think that if Vanessa is allowed to worship Garona as a teacher, with Vanessa's talent, surpassing Garona is just around the corner.
You may not really see that day, but so what? As long as it's worth doing, do it.
And he has a lot of other plans, such as...... Go to the hometown of the Burning Legion in advance?
In the original books, Illidan sends Kane Sunfury to lead his most elite Illidare forces to a shattered world called Marton to seize the Sagrit Keystone, a powerful magic weapon that can access all worlds conquered by the Burning Legion. Illidare successfully completed their mission, but when they returned to the Dark Temple, it was Mavi and her watchers who awaited them. All of Illidare have been thrown into the new prison of the Broken Isles, the Cave of the Warden, where eternal imprisonment awaits them.
With this stone, Azeroth's troops could easily travel to Argus.
Before he could do that, though, he had to get in touch with the inhabitants of the Shattered Isles and strengthen the Azeroth coalition. So, when Duten appeared at Ravenhold Manor, Sylvanas had already taken his place and had come to the Broken Isles.
The Broken Isles consist of about four large islands and three smaller islands, which, of course, are relative in size. These islands have existed in the world of Azeroth since the Fall of the Heavens, with the exception of Broken Beach, the island where Sargeras's Tomb is located. Until a few decades ago, the orc sorcerer Gul'dan raised the shattered beach containing the Tomb of Sargeras to the surface. At that time, Gul'dan was looking for the tomb of the fallen Titan, Sargeras, and he did: this ancient Kadore structure stands on the largest island in the archipelago.
In the Broken Isles, people are not very common, but culture is very common.
The ruler here is the Naga of the Grudge Clan. They have several bases and are very powerful. The Naga followers, sirens, and loyal guards are numerous and pose a great threat to other races. The Naga lived in the ruins of Kadore, and they also built some houses. The architectural style is too similar. The Naga fight with a distinctive shout: the slightest sound of a viper, which sounds like raindrops hitting the sea.
The Fishmen of the Shatterfins are also very powerful in the Broken Isles. They live in stilted huts by the sea, along with several other Fish-Man tribes, as well as mutant Fish-Man tribes. The fish-man's voice is hilarious, especially the scream when he dies.
Another culture of the Broken Isles is the orcs.
They weren't Thrall's orcs, and many weren't even alive. During that Gul'dan mutiny, armies from Blackstone, Twilight's Hammer, and the Storm Marauder clan fought a major battle on the Shattered Isles. Then, the demons guarding the tomb of Sargeras killed all those who survived, and the orc skeletons and orc ghosts began to fight each other non-stop.
However, there are also some orcs who are alive. Most of them are Warlocks who remain of Gul'dan's Storm Marauder Clan to this day. These people were shrewd and lucky enough to survive the catastrophe. They are scattered on various islands, and from the beginning of the Second War, they have lived a reclusive life, eating crabs for a living.
It's full of downpours, monuments, palm trees, which is a good summation. The four large islands are a bit like a circle, and each island falls on a point on the compass. There's all sorts of dirty stuff here, so it's no surprise that the rocks here can eat meat.
Because the archipelago is not very old, there is little chance of a foothold for the creatures of nature, only palm trees, tropical plants and some flowering plants are overgrown. There are corals everywhere and a lot of albatrosses. There are also hermit crabs and colorful fish on the beach. In the tidal pools and next to the coral reefs, there are purple, black and orange sea urchins. Don't get too close to them. Otherwise, the lucky ones will urinate, and the unfortunate ones will die directly.
In the eastern part of the archipelago there is a natural bay called Storm Fjord, which has quite a bit of history. It was here that Gul'dan anchored when he explored the archipelago. The ships had long since been shattered, but the wreckage was still floating in the aptly named bay. The geography and environment are very similar to that of Howling Fjord in Northrend, and the two places may have been connected before the sky collapsed. Thousands of years ago, a group of Veku people left Northrend in search of their holy land. And eventually, they came to Stormfjord. Stormfjord is a beautiful place, but it also has a heart-wrenching scene.
Asuna was a great library in ancient times. Perhaps the Cadores who built it were visionary enough to waterproof books and scrolls. Asuna is home to many ancient Night Elves who have survived the wrath of Queen Azhara to this day. Asuna is their home. The land is cursed and full of secrets, and the remaining forces of the Blue Dragon Legion are hidden here.
Varsara is the place of origin of the druids. Ten thousand years ago, the Fury Wind Brothers and Tyrande found Cenarius in this forest and worshipped him as their teacher. It later became a sacred place for the druids, who planted the World Tree Sarah Dahir to help restore the continent after the sky collapsed. Outside the forest is the Crow Fortress, where Garrod Shadowsong later buried Ravenkes' body.
The Supreme Ridge is the peak area of the Broken Isles region, where the main inhabitants are the Supreme Minotaur and Dragobar, one of the ancestors of the Supreme Minotaur was the famous Minotaur leader of the Ancient War, Huon Kaolin. In addition, Deathwing left a treasure cave here when he was still the guardian dragon Nesario, but it was all overrun by Dragobal and all sorts of strange creatures.
And in addition to these four lands, there is also a land called Sulama. 10,000 years ago, Suramar was a huge city of Kadore. In fact, several important members of the Night Elves once called it home: Tyrande Whisper, and the Fury Wind Brothers. This ruin is a sad reminder to all the inhabitants of Azeroth of the folly that Cadore had done. In the center of the ruins, there are two huge poplar tree stumps leaning against each other. This is strange because the climate here is not suitable for poplar trees; Moreover, even if the sapling grows, it will not grow so thick. In fact, several letters from Night Elf allies have solved the mystery: in ancient times, there was a huge garden in the center of Sulama, and in the middle of the garden grew the legendary Tree of Azhara. And the two petrified stumps in front of him are the former Tree of Azhara.
Finally, and most importantly, Broken Beach. The tomb of the fallen titan Sargeras is located on Broken Beach, which is certainly the most important relic of the Broken Isles.
The tomb is an ancient Kadore structure built before the Cataclysm, and it was built with tan stone. Recent history has caused it to partially collapse and become very unstable. Stone slips and tunnel collapses always occur. The red orc writing that Gul'dan had left behind was still on the wall.
The Tomb of Sargeras is an eerie place. Orcs, elves, and ghosts, like skeletons and ghosts, are fighting each other endlessly. Warlocks of the Storm Marauders, who occupy the depths of the tombs, are the remnants of Gul'dan's tragic expedition. Demons are also active in the depths, especially in the Incarnation Vault, where the armor that bears the soul of Sargeras, the Fallen Incarnation, is placed. It used to be the only remaining part of Sargeras's withered body: the Eye of Sargeras, until the recent appearance of Illidan.
The passage is full of heavy stone gates and round doors.
Sometimes, after stepping on a platform, the round door rolls to the side. Apparently, the Cadores were fond of cylindrical shapes, and the tombs were everywhere; Some are still intact, while many have collapsed or been damaged. There are also pinnacle towers, fountains, seahorse statues, arches, corals, shells, torches, braziers, chests, barrels, and fallen rocks. Seaweed adorns the surface of all sorts of things. In some places the ground is intact: tan stones and bricks. In some places, the ground has been crumbled, while others have been submerged in mud and seawater.
The Tomb of Sargeras is perhaps the most dangerous place in the Broken Isles. Unless you think you can beat the devil, don't come.
About 500 years ago, Magna Egwene, the guardian of Tirisfa, killed the demon Sargeras. Of course, it was his physical form that she killed; Sargeras's spirit entered her body and subsequently took control of her child, Medivan. The Demon King is never easy to deal with.
Igwen, realizing that the Demon Titan's corpse still had energy, began to look for a safe place to bury him. Eventually, she found a kadore ruin at the bottom of the sea, near the maelstrom, and she put the body inside, thinking it would be safe. But time has proven her wrong.
Centuries passed, and Medivan, controlled by Sargeras, persuaded the orc shaman Gul'dan to lead his people through the Dark Gate to wage war against Azeroth. Sargeras promised to give Gul'dan a powerful artifact, the legendary Eye of Sargeras. However, Gul'dan lost patience and used magic to conduct extensive research, finally divining the location of the tomb of Sargeras. So, he lifted the broken beach from the bottom of the sea to the surface and into the tomb.
Gul'dan faced many trials in the tomb. Orcs loyal to the Hammer of Doom attacked Gul'dan's expedition of Storm Marauders, who desperately searched for the Vision's traces. But in the end, he failed, and the demons guarding the tomb tore him to shreds.
Time was ticking, the third war broke out and ended. In the chaos of the post-war period, the betrayer Illidan Fury arrives at the tomb of Sargeras. He, like Gul'dan, came to find the Eye of Sargeras. He sought out the Vision in order to perform a ritual to destroy the Frozen Throne. Night Elf Warden Mavi Shadowsong followed. There, she meets Draxul, who convinces her to help put the undead orcs to rest.
Mavi helps him, but then discovers that Dedraxur belongs to Gul'dan's original wizarding group and is partly responsible for the rise of the Broken Isles, which she regrets about the resurgence of dangerous objects like the Eye of Sargeras. Mavi also found the parts of the treasure Shadow Orb in the tomb, and when she gathered all the parts, she gained great power.
Mavi and her men found Illidan in the depths of the tomb and interrupted his ritual. Illidan used the power of his Vision to flood the tomb and fled. Except for Mavi, none of the Night Elves were able to escape. The loss of the elite only deepened Mavi's resentment. This may be one of the reasons why Mavi hates Illidan so much.
Since then, the Naga and the Fishmen have taken over the Broken Isles, and the undead orcs are still fighting their second war.
Now, the other inhabitants of Azeroth have finally set foot on the land.
It's not that no one has ever set foot in the Broken Isles, and don't forget, the Watcher's Crypt is still south of the Broken Isles, which means that the Night Elves have at least a permanent presence here. It's not a lot, but it's a force after all. However, the Watchers do not come into contact with the other inhabitants of the archipelago, and their responsibility is only to watch over the demons and monsters in the caves.
In addition, the goblins also have a certain connection with the Broken Isles, these green-skinned little guys are born merchants, and they will do anything to make money, even if it is a mountain of swords and a sea of fire. And the Broken Isles are not too dangerous places, and the inhabitants of the islands ...... Well, there's a lot more that can be communicated.
There are also human beings, led by Kurtilas, they have always had commercial dealings with the Broken Isles, as a return kingdom, Kul Tiras has a strong water force and warships, if you don't run the sea route of the Broken Isles, wouldn't it be a waste?
However, this kind of exchange is only within a very slight range, after all, creatures such as Naga and fish-people cannot communicate directly, and the children of the night of Sulama are not suitable for business travel, they can only do some simple business with the Minotaur of the Supreme Ridge, far less than the goblins, who can do business in all corners.
But it doesn't matter, just know where the route is.
With Kurtiras's route, Sylvanas was able to truly set foot in this lost land.
