Chapter XXIII: Theft

In the crowd of people in the museum, I sat alone in the lounge seat at the entrance of Hall 2. What happened last night is still fresh in my mind, and as I ponder my plans for tonight's action, I map the entire Museum Quarter in my head.

My plan is feasible on the assumption that the museum's security is as useless as last night, but I'm not sure if the Man in Black had taken down the museum's security system before I did it last night, and what I saw was probably an illusion. If that's the case, then I'll have to go head-to-head with the Men in Black, but it looks like there's little chance of winning.

"Chen Xianglian, hello." I found Chen Xianglian, who had just been explained.

"Which one are you? How do I know my name? Chen Xianglian looked at me in surprise.

"I asked your staff, I just listened to your explanation, and I like your explanation very much."

"Oh, thank you."

"I have a question for you."

"What's the problem?"

"With so many precious cultural relics in this exhibition, are there many police officers who protect this place day and night?"

"Of course, the security here is higher than the bank vault."

"But I didn't see the police."

"There's patrols outside the door, there's police inside, and we have a surveillance and alarm system."

"Aren't so many precious cultural relics afraid that someone will have a bad idea?"

"This is the city center, 500 meters next to the city government and the city public security bureau, as long as the alarm system sounds, a large number of police can arrive here in three minutes."

"And what if the alarm system breaks?"

"How is it possible, you think too much. Why do you ask this? ”

"Oh, I'm just curious, I think so many precious artifacts must be very tightly secured."

"Of course, you can put 10,000 hearts."

Chen Xianglian makes sense, this is the city center, next to the city government and the municipal public security bureau, and it is indeed too difficult to steal here. But how the hell did the man in black do it last night, and it was so calm last night, I didn't notice any alarm system. I've decided to put my plan on hold and find a place to hide and see how the Men in Black managed to accomplish this impossible task.

Time passed quickly, and I hid in the toilet with no people and no lights like yesterday.

At eleven o'clock in the evening, I carefully came out of the toilet and came to a corner of the wall that I had already chosen without any light, I took out the black cloth prepared in my backpack, and covered me completely, revealing only a pair of eyes. I just squatted motionless in this place, quietly waiting for the man in black to appear.

I found that there was a faint light in the corridor of the museum, and under the faint light and the orange street light shining in from the window, the whole museum was bright and dark. And I saw the patrolling policemen, the two policemen who were going to be put down at the door, and they were patrolling back and forth around Hall 2, and luckily they didn't find me.

Suddenly, all the lights in the corridor went out, and although the lights went out, under the light from the window, you could still observe the surroundings without obstacles. I saw that the two patrolling policemen seemed to be a little flustered, and hurriedly ran through the aisle in front of me to the back door of the second exhibition hall. I had a hunch that they were coming.

That's when something happened that left me dumbfounded. Two masked men in black flew down from the ceilingless side with ropes hanging from the top of the glass building, and then quickly ran towards the back door of Hall 2. The two men, both dressed in black and carrying black backpacks on their backs, moved quickly and quickly, without any verbal communication between them, or even the sound of their footsteps.

Within a few minutes, a few more black-clothed men flew down from the upper floor, and they formed a team of twos, and finally a total of six people came to the second exhibition hall with the first two people. I remember that the museum has a total of 5 floors and a basement exhibition hall, of which the fifth floor is the observation deck and the second exhibition hall is on the second floor. In this way, they must be in teams of two to control a floor, so there should be their people downstairs.

After another ten minutes or so, they ran out of it, carrying wooden boxes wrapped in black cloth. At this time, they came to the corridor hall on the second floor, and one person took out a drone from his backpack. He then put the wooden box tightly wrapped in black cloth into the hanging bag under the drone, and soon the drone flew to the top of the building, but no one was controlling the drone.

They waited there for a few minutes, and suddenly another person came down from the roof, and they gathered seven people and ran down the elevator to the first floor, and I chased after them carefully, trying to see what was going on.

I hid on the fence on the second floor and peeked below, only to see the seven of them converge with the other two black-clothed men on the first floor, and escaped through a glass door that was cut next to them, and I quickly followed their tracks.

I trotted to the first floor, ready to chase out through the door they had run from. Suddenly I felt something stab me in the back, and I started to fall to the ground with all my body weak. I think I've been knocked down again, and then I see through my eyes another man in black coming to my side, and after one look, I ran away, probably the one they left behind.

Soon, I lost consciousness, and when I woke up again, it was another August 16th morning.

Thinking back to all this, I think they may have cut off the power to the entire museum, and then the detachment knocked down the patrols on each floor, and finally completed the whole theft. Maybe there were more than 10 people I saw, and there must have been people on the periphery of the museum, so it must be a professional gang.

I witnessed the beginning and end of this astonishing theft, and I realized that it was almost impossible to recover the meteorite from this group of people, all of whom were well-trained, well-armed and felt like special forces. How do I get the meteorite out of them, it's a question that makes me rack my brains.

It's definitely not okay to fight hard, and it's impossible for me to talk to them about what wooden boxes belong to me and what scriptures belong to you, and it's unrealistic to steal wooden boxes before them. So what should I do, it seems that I have no other choice, I should use the power of the museum.

I wanted to trade with the museum on the condition that I inform the museum of everything I saw, in exchange for first-hand information about the luminous meteorite and the right to observe the meteorite without obstacles. But a new question arises, who will believe what I say, who will see it all happen in the future, who will exchange benefits with an unknown person like me.

If there is no quid pro quo, simply calling the police that the museum may be attacked at night, the police will certainly raise the security level, and the operation of the Man in Black will not be successful. But that didn't do me any good, and I still didn't get any information about the meteorite, let alone the meteorite itself.

After thinking about it, I decided to give it a try first, and I was going to try to make a deal with the people at the museum.

I put on that black t-shirt, grabbed my black backpack, and walked to the museum again.
