Chapter 12: Reunion
In the hustle and bustle of the bar, the crowd swayed to the music and indulged in revelry.
Su Bai took Mu Na through the crowd and walked straight towards the bar.
The three men were gathering together to drink and chat.
Looking at the familiar figure, a smile appeared on Su Bai's face.
He walked forward slowly, and suddenly reached out and patted the man on the right shoulder hard.
"Oh!" The man screamed, stood up suddenly, turned around and was about to scold, when he saw the person behind him.
"Assassins? Phantom? His eyes widened in disbelief.
The other two men next to him also turned their heads to look.
"Captain Price, Gates, long time no see." Su Bai first greeted the two with a smile, then looked at the man in front of him and smiled, "Thorpe, I haven't seen you for a while, but you haven't changed at all." β
"Oh, shit! It's really you! Thorpe screamed, thinking of him spreading his hands.
The two hugged each other, and Su Bai said, "Of course it's me, otherwise who do you think it is." β
"It's a real surprise." After the hug, Thorpe tried to hug Muna again, but the girl glanced at her with a cold gaze, and suddenly stopped, "Miss Ghost hasn't changed at all." β
"It's not like any girl can hug around." Su Bai hugged Captain Price and Gates one by one, reached out to wrap his hand around the girl's shoulder, looked at Thorpe and teased, "Because she may have a boyfriend who can teach you a hard lesson." β
"I knew you two had a leg!" Thorpe said loudly, "Who told me it was just a partnership? Hey, Assassin, you've got a treat. β
"Just call me Sue." Su Bai sat down on the side, and the bartender immediately brought a glass of whiskey, "As for the treat, I'll have a piece of it after this time." β
"Oh, that's going to have to wait." Thorpe shrugged and sat down as well.
Su Bai looked at the three of them, the smile on his face retracted, and said in a sincere tone: "Guys, it's a pleasure to see you again." β
"So are we." Gates said, then raised his glass and smiled, "Come, let's toast our ace duo of Assassin and Ghost." β
βCheers!β
The four of them toasted each other and drank it all.
"It's a pity that Grigos guy isn't here." Gates said with some regret.
"He's not really going back to college in the United States, is he?" Su Bai remembered what Grigos said when he finally fled, and raised his eyebrows, "Think about the way he sat in the classroom with a pen and took notes seriously, it was really a strange scene. β
The crowd burst into laughter.
"If he hears it, he'll definitely reason with you." Gates said with a smile.
"By the way, you have to tell us something." Thorpe reached out and grabbed Su Bai's arm, hugged him over, and said with a wicked smile, "How did you get in touch with that Countess of the Crawford family?" β
"yes, I'm curious, too." "When I received Miss Crawford's invitation, I was really taken aback. How did you get her to deliver the letter to us for you? β
Su Bai said solemnly: "If I say that she is also my girlfriend, do you believe it?" β
"Oh, come on!"
The three of them expressed their disbelief.
Captain Price, who had always been serious, couldn't help but say, "I'd rather believe that you are begging Miss Crawford for help with a dead face, and I will never believe this." β
"That's right, Sue." Gaz nodded in agreement, "And the ghost is still here." You've just said she's your girlfriend, and now you're saying to her face that Miss Crawford is your girlfriend. Oh, that's not what a good man should do. β
"I don't mind." Mu Na, who had been sitting quietly next to Su Bai, spoke.
The three of them were stunned.
"Look, the truth is always unbelievable." Su Bai shrugged his shoulders, "Okay, let's not talk about this for now." In fact, I have something I need your help with. β
Hearing this, the three of them also became serious.
"Just say it, Sue." "You know, whatever it is, we're going to do our best to help you." You've saved all of our lives. β
"And more than once." Thorpe interjected, "Of course, if you want me to blow up the White House or something, then I can't help you anything other than strapping a bomb on myself." β
"Don't worry, I won't let you blow up the White House." Su Bai couldn't help but laugh.
"If there's anything we need to do, just say it." Captain Price, who hadn't spoken much, said, his face full of seriousness, "As long as we can help a little, everyone will do their best." β
"Then you're welcome." Su Bai said with a smile, then retracted his smile and said with a serious face, "Before that, I want to ask, have you heard of Abstergo Industries?" β
"Abstergo?" Gates touched his chin, "I think I've heard of it." That's a behemoth, and they have a branch in London. β
"What, did you mess with them?" Thorpe asked, then said in a funny way, "Say, who do you want us to kill this company?" Their chairman, or president? Maybe we can go and just blow up their headquarters right now? β
"They're based in the United States, Thorpe." Captain Price couldn't help but say, "Okay, stay quiet and listen to Sue." β
Hearing this, Thorpe immediately closed his mouth honestly.
Su Bai glanced at him and said, "For now, the situation is not that serious. So we don't have to take such extreme measures for the time being. β
"That's good news." Gates shrugged.
"Here's the thing." Su Bai briefly recounted the fact that Alan Rikkin, the CEO of Abstergo, had gone to invite Laura to help them explore the treasure a few days earlier, and that Abstergo might have something to do with Laura's father's death.
After talking about the general situation, he said, "According to the information left by Laura's father, that treasure is likely to be related to a powerful artifact that Laura's father has studied. So we intend to find the treasure before Abstergo's men do, and sabotage their plans. Then try to uncover more clues from it. β
"It sounds a bit like the adventure stories I heard when I was a kid." "Like Captain Drake's treasure or something." β
"Actually, I'm more concerned about what the relationship between you and that countess is." Thorpe chimed in, "We'll help you, but you'll have to tell us this in exchange." β
"If you're not honest, I don't mind finding a rope to tie you up and gag your mouth, Thorpe." Captain Price scolded Thorpe and looked at Su Bai again, "So, what do you want us to do?" β
There are two more chapters added later, as usual.
