Chapter 323: An Unexpected Encounter
The river on which the royal palace of Sincalilan rests is said to be the largest river in the country, with a length of more than 1,000 kilometres. Pen "Fun" Pavilion www.biquge.info If you throw something down from the shore, it will only be swept up in this irritable torrent for a while, and you will disappear for a while, right?
Unfortunately, after encountering and fighting Doctor Doom in the middle of the night, Eric fell from the cliff behind the palace into the river, and was swept away by the whirlpool for a few moments.
The head was heavy, and the consciousness felt as chaotic as the torrent around him. The armor automatically disarmed after the final collision with Dr. Doom and went into hibernation mode, and it should be said that he was still alive after being washed in such a rapid water for so long without armor protection, and it should be said that his body is no longer a pure human.
I don't know how long he went with the flow, but he finally stoppedβit was stranded, to be exact. Unconscious, Eric was slammed onto a boulder by the current, which was washed black by the current.
Until another group of people came along the riverbank.
At the forefront is a woman dressed in a very exaggerated manner. She was wearing a brightly colored T-shirt, long slender snow-white legs and mesh stockings, her pretty face was painted sallow white, and her mouth was blowing a transparent bubble with bubble gum.
She was jumping around like a little girl, and in the line about ten paces away, the man in charge couldn't help but shout, "Slow down, Hallie, I told you to keep moving!" β
The woman, who was called Harley, paused slightly, turned around, and grimaced at the back, then quickened her pace, as if rejoicing in the childish act.
"Give up, Dead Shot." Another member of the team said, "You know, that woman just loves to work against people." β
It was none other than Floyd Lawton, the Death Shooter. He has recently been very reluctant to take on a hot potato - leading a ragtag team of ace mercenary Deathbell, also an ace mercenary but extremely talkative Deadpool, a crazy harley quinn from Gotham City, and a super criminal Black Manta Ray in a high-tech diving combat suit, on a top-secret mission.
Regardless of the stiff-heading constraints on the mission, the team is either lawless and habitually broken or crazy like Hallie, which makes it even more impossible to complete the mission. At the thought of this, Lawton sensed that the future of this team was dark.
The moment Harley caught a glimpse of Eric stranded on the rocks out of the corner of her eye, she paused suddenly, and the bubble in her mouth popped.
By the time the rest of the team arrived, Harley had dragged the unconscious Eric ashore, crouching beside him with curious eyes, occasionally waving back and forth in front of his closed eyes.
"What's the situation?"
Lawton, the death shooter assigned to lead the team, walked up quickly, crouched down beside Eric, and frowned slightly.
Hallie raised her eyebrows, "You know him?" β
"Hmm...... Sort of. Lawton held his chin and said, "I've been commissioned twice with this kid, and he's a ...... Well...... Sort of a superhero. β
"Superheroes?" Hallie grinned, "That's great, I love killing superheroes." β
As she spoke, she pulled out a knife out of nowhere, and raised its sharp blade while humming some strange tune.
But before she could make a single slash, a powerful palm grabbed her wrist, preventing her from swinging half a point.
It was the death knell that struck. Harley turned her head and said in annoyance, "Hey! You're hurting me! β
"I know him, too." Deathbell said coldly, "And I owe him a favor, so if you want to kill him, I won't watch quietly from the side." β
"Hey, you're so boring." Harley muttered dissatisfied, but seemed to dismiss the idea of slashing Eric's neck with her knife.
Deadpool, who fell at the end of the line, covered his mouth with one hand and whispered as if whispering, "Hah, you know what? Although Slade said this, what he really thought in his heart was - if I let this kid hang up here, will my precious daughter really ignore me for the rest of her life? Woohoo......"
"What are you muttering there, Wade?" Knell asked coldly.
Deadpool immediately jumped back, stood upright, and gave a standard military salute: "Report, nothing, sir!" β
But Deadpool was right, and Deathstroke did have that in mind - if he had let Eric die here and his daughter Ruth had found out, it wouldn't have helped to repair their strained father-daughter relationship.
"The death knell is right." "According to the team's code of conduct, we should be an invisible team, and we can't be detected by anyone or any force during the mission. We don't know why this kid is here, and we have to be absolutely stealthy. Now the last thing we need is to get ourselves in some new trouble......"
Just as he spoke, a communication rang from their headquarters.
Dead shot connected to the communication in the headset: "It's me." β
"What's going on?" A voice, seemingly voice-altered, came from the other side of the headset, "The GPS signal from several of you shows that you have stopped moving. β
Deadpool interjected hurriedly, "Report to sir!" We didn't find a drenched, unconscious kid by the river, and we didn't intend to kill him at all! β
"What's that?" The commander on the other side was confused.
The Death Shooter rubbed his temples with a headache and reported their situation here to Command.
β...... That's probably the case. After Lawton finished speaking, he added, "We are going to leave him alone now and go straight back to the base." β
There was silence on the other side of the comm for a while, and then the voice spoke again: "Bring him back." β
"What?" Dead Shot was a little surprised, "But...... You haven't forgotten that he's different from us, have you? He's not a prisoner you can just take out of prison and be a strong man, and we don't even know why he's here. In case some Avengers or Justice League somebody is with him......"
"I didn't ask you that much." The voice couldn't help but say, "I gave the order, you just need to carry it out, don't forget who you are, Lawton." β
Dead Shot sighed.
"Well, you're the boss."
