Chapter 400: Satellite Railgun
Pulse laser guns, self-defending laser towers, and advanced Hydra mechs are not the strongest weapons in the Hydra base. These were all just a means of delaying the evacuation of the base's higher-ups, because if they had used their final weapons before they could have evacuated, even they themselves would not have survived the horrific bombardment.
"Urgent retreat!"
When Iron Man bursts out of the ceiling of the base, he loudly alerts all his teammates on the public channel, and doesn't even bother to explain the situation.
But at this point, it may be a step too late.
The night sky seemed to be lit up suddenly, and the sky suddenly turned into a blood-stained curtain. The stars all disappeared, and a small red dot loomed in the center of the clouds, rapidly expanding at a speed visible to the naked eye.
The fiery red beam pierced the black cloud in an instant, and it fell from the sky. It was as if it was a heavenly punishment, a pillar of optimus, descending with unparalleled might. The dark clouds broke away in fear, and a huge hole was created in the pitch-black clouds, and fire-colored pillars of light shot down vertically from the middle of the hole, aiming straight at the direction of the base.
"Boom!"
The terrifying energy bombarded the ground, hitting the Hydra base head-on. The building's shell instantly crumbled apart under the red light, and the terrifying shock wave rolled up thick smoke and dust that spread in all directions. Earth-colored dust lifted up several people high, obscuring the sky like a sandstorm. The steel mechs of Hydra immediately disintegrated under the influence of this majestic energy, and they were as vulnerable as tofu dregs.
The bombardment lasted for more than ten seconds, and the continuous shock wave almost flattened everything within a radius of one kilometer. A heavy sound echoed through the valley, and even the terrain of the valley was changed by the force of the blow, and its horror was evident.
The light finally dissipated, and the hot energy remained in the flying dust. Iron Man lifted the ruins of the building that weighed down on him, half of his armor shell was damaged, and the exposed lines sizzled and sparked. He looked around and asked, "Are everyone alright?" โ
Hulk and Thor were the first to emerge from under the rubble, and the two with the team's highest defenses were of course fine. The panther wearing a vibranium uniform was naturally fine, although the captain was injured, but fortunately, he had just found a good cover and was protected by a vibranium shield, so it was fine.
However, the soldiers of Hydra were not so lucky. All the Hydra warriors in the battle were within the attack range of the cannon just now, and unfortunately they fell victim to none of them.
"What's that?" The captain asked.
"Satellite railgun." Tony said with a solemn expression, "This is also a very cutting-edge technology, as far as I know, no government in the world has used it for arming, I didn't expect Hydra to have such a dangerous thing in its hands." โ
In fact, even if Hydra wants to use a weapon of this level, it is not so simple, Hydra is distributed in so many bases around the world, and only a few have a button to activate the satellite railgun. Unfortunately, the base they raided was a high-level base with that kind of authority.
"Wait," Tony's face changed again, "that thing...... There is also a second shot. โ
Everyone's faces changed when they heard this.
"Wait, I'm trying to establish a link with the satellite overhead," Tony said, "Give me a few more minutes and I should be able to hack it......"
By this time, however, the sky had lit up again. The red light seemed to extend all the way to the sky, and the pillar of light with the momentum of destroying the world seemed to fall again at any time.
Thor was already picking up his hammer for takeoff, and the hurricane rolled up with the turn of Thor's hammer. But he obviously couldn't catch up, and the red light had already appeared far away in the air, as if it was about to fall.
Everyone's palms were sweating - they weren't sure they would survive the next round. With that level of impact, even if you don't die, you have to shed your skin.
Almost at the last moment, just when everyone was nervous, the red dot in the air suddenly disappeared. The sky instantly returned to darkness as if nothing had ever happened.
Tony was stunned for a moment, and then said in disbelief: "That satellite...... Suddenly gone!? โ
"What do you mean?" The captain asked.
"I'm not sure," Tony frowned, "but I suddenly couldn't connect to the satellite that fired at us, and it was suddenly offline." โ
Soon, though, they all understood what had happenedโa flaming meteor pierced the night sky, dragging a dazzling trail down from the sky. The hot ball of fire, wrapped in the charred wreckage of the machine, was undoubtedly the satellite that had just fired at them, but it had now been completely smashed into a pile of scrap metal and was rapidly falling towards the valley a dozen kilometers away from them.
About 10 kilometers away, on a road along the mountain.
The Hydra executives in the base escaped early when the Avengers were attracted by frontal fire, accompanied only by a convoy. They confirmed that they had escaped out of range of the satellite railgun, when even the final weapon was activated.
And now, the Hydra General sitting in a military jeep is staring at the mobile terminal in his hand, puzzled why the satellite has lost contact with the operator in his hand.
At that moment, the jeep made a sharp turn, the tires rubbed against the road with a sharp and loud noise, and half of the butt drifted to the edge of the cliff on one side, and almost fell into the abyss. The general was caught off guard and slammed his nose into the backrest of the front seat in embarrassment. Just two seconds after the jeep drifted and braked, a burning meteor fell from the sky, like a precision missile, cutting off the highway directly in front of the convoy, and most of the road was blown to pieces on the spot, and debris was scattered.
The general of Hydra lifted his glasses and looked through the car window, only to see that the wreckage in the flame that had cut off their path was not the satellite operated by the terminal in his hand. At the same time, a dark shadow also stopped directly in front of the convoy.
It was a man in armor. The armor was dominated by domineering black, with dark red stripes painted on the left and right sides, purple accessories on the shoulders and waist, and an evil purple glow on the eyepieces. There was an invisible domineering aura all over his body, and the light of the fire burning on the wreckage of the satellite behind him was as awe-inspiring as a god.
The moment they saw him, almost everyone in the entire team had such a thought for no reason-
- will die here.
