Night had fallen, darkness had enveloped the tall building, and the lights on the top floor had been completely extinguished. In the empty office, the editor-in-chief was left standing by the glass curtain wall, pinching a telescope whose shell had changed color to the point of being unrecognizable.
"Looking at the stars, editor-in-chief?"
The editor-in-chief was startled, and when he turned around, he found that it was Jimmy, a young photographer at the newspaper, with pimples on his face.
"You're scaring me, Jimmy." The editor-in-chief breathed a sigh of relief, "No, I didn't read anything. Actually, this telescope is long gone, you can't see anything through it, I just happened to see it on my desk...... I thought I had lost it a long time ago. ā
"Why did you lose it?"
The editor-in-chief sighed, closed his eyes slightly, and recalled: "This was left to me by my grandfather, who was one of the first members of the humanitarian press corps, traveled all over the world, and witnessed many tragic events with his own eyes. He used to be my idol when I was a child, and one of the reasons I got into the industry, this telescope was picked up from Nagasaki, literally self-defeating. It is said that its owner was a boy who was no more than ten years old, but of course you couldn't recognize it at the time. Truth be told, this telescope scared me half to death, can you imagine what it would be like to see the moment of disaster through these two lenses in the morning? ā
Jimmy silently took the binoculars, was silent for a moment, and said, "I can't imagine it." ā
The editor-in-chief was silent for a long time, his eyes closed and his brow furrowed, as if he was trying to remember something.
"You know what?" He suddenly spoke, "What if...... What if we don't know what happened? In case of...... What if it's not an atomic bomb, but something else...... Maybe something even more terrifying has befallen Nagasaki......"
Jimmy froze, "What are you talking about, editor-in-chief?" ā
"No, nothing." The editor-in-chief shook his head, shaking off the ridiculous thought, "It's just that this thing sometimes appears in nightmares and gives me such unrealistic fantasies. ā
He retrieved the telescope and threw it back on his desk, the cold moonlight reflected in the broken lens residue, revealing the chill of the forest.
"I'd better throw it away." The editor-in-chief said.
Stark Fair, Opening Ceremony.
In the transparent round pavilion, men in suits and ladies in elegant evening dresses surrounded the huge stage in the center, and a group of dancers dressed in red and gold three-point styles were dancing on the stage. The fast-paced music released by the ring-shaped horns hit everyone's eardrums, and the dancers released their hot energy to the cheerful beat, igniting the wave of cheering of the crowd.
Stark Industries has held many fairs in its history, which can be said to be the group's specialty. The original promoter was Tony Stark's father, Howard Stark, and the history dates back to World War II.
Prominent guests and sexy dancers from all over the world have been a part of every expo for so many years, but today's fair is not the same compared to the past.
Howard Stark once imagined himself as the host descending to the center of the stage in a flying car at the opening ceremony, and if the host could fall from the sky, it would definitely push the atmosphere of the venue to the climax. Unfortunately, due to the limitations of the era, even geniuses such as Howard Stark did not make his grand debut in a flying car as he wished.
And today, the host really "fell from the sky".
Salute after cannon shot into the sky, exploding gorgeously in the sky, dazzling colored light dotting the deep night sky. In the brilliant salute and the enthusiastic cheers of the people, the red and gold afterimages flew down from the sky. He played all sorts of stunts, weaving through the brilliant light effects, spinning around a few times before landing loudly in the middle of the stage.
The atmosphere was ignited to the climax, and the people cheered excitedly.
Iron Man raised his hands, and the stage automatically stretched out his mechanical arm and began to disassemble the armor for him. Pieces of metal armor were peeled off, revealing Tony Stark, who was in a suit and leather shoes, greeted everyone with a smile.
The dancers finished the dance, saluted and left the stage in a neat line, leaving the stage for today's protagonists. Tony raised his hand to signal everyone to be quiet, and then spoke slowly.
Tony stretched out his arms as if he was ready to hug: "Does anyone miss me?" ā
The crowd cheered enthusiastically again, mixed with the woman's "I love you" confession at the top of her voice.
Tony made a gesture to stop: "Don't be like this, I'm not the main character today...... Neither are you. ā
People quieted down a bit.
"Today's theme is about inheritance." He re-spoke, "It depends on what kind of legacy we choose to leave to future generations. That's why, starting next year, for the first time since 1974, the world's top elite men and women will pool resources and share visions to leave a better future for our future generations! ā
Eric was sandwiched between the crowd, looking at Tony, who was shining on the stage, and said to himself, "This guy looks like that, after all, he is the CEO of a big company......"
"Hey, Eric!"
He turned his head to see Peter dancing almost excitedly, pointing to a retro-looking car outside.
"Do you know that?" Peter excitedly said, "A car that can levitate with magnetic force can theoretically fly freely like an airplane." This is the future! Can you imagine what it will be like for everyone to drive out and walk on an empty road in the future? The problem of traffic jams will be solved once and for all......"
"Then when you go out to swing spider silk in the future, you have to make sure that there are no vehicles passing on the left and right at any time, and be careful of traffic accidents." Eric complained.
"Uh......" Peter choked a little, as if he hadn't thought about that part of the matter.
At this moment, quietly, Raven appeared between the two like a light night cat, without saying a word.
Eric was startled, and just as surprising as "why was she here" was her outfit, which Eric had never seen in his memory - a long black gothic dress with layers of lace, black hair that slipped down like seaweed, an elegant evening gown that reflected the snowy skin, and the white calf curves of the skirt were particularly seductive.
"You clothes...... Ah no, how did you get in before that? ā
"The ticket I gave." Tony, who had just left the stage after his opening speech, came to the crowd, "She asked me what I wanted, and Pepper gave her a gown...... But seriously, when I gave you two tickets, I didn't expect you to invite a male companion along. ā
Eric looked at Raven in surprise, "But didn't you say you didn't want to come?" ā
"I've changed my mind." Raven's face does not change color.
"Enjoy, everyone." Tony said, "There's going to be a dinner in the auditorium over there, so you can go and see it together." ā
And at this very moment, Stark Tower, Tony's private laboratory.
Several sets of Iron Man armor in the glass display case suddenly woke up. Like giants that have been sleeping for a long time, they opened their sleepy eyes in unison without warning, and their cores lit up with a dazzling white light at the same second. The display cases lined up turned into slag one after another with a series of crisp sounds, and the armor stretched out and stepped on the glass slag to the center of the room.
The building's semicircular ceiling slowly opens, revealing the pitch-black night sky, like a launch pad ready to launch a rocket.
Target Lock...... Stark Fair. ā
The only command appears on the monitor inside each set of armor helmets at the same time.
The Iron Man armor ignited in unison, like a string of fireworks rushing into the sky.
