Chapter Seventy-Four: Classes

It seems that Professor Zhou came prepared, and when he came, he had already brought a test paper, and Junxin took a general look, basically about the foundation of university physics, but more content is biased towards high-energy physics. After glancing at it, Junxin can be very sure that he can complete it all in half an hour, and he can guarantee that he can get a full score.

So under the witness of Professor Hu, Junxin completed the test questions given by Professor Zhou in about half an hour, and Professor Zhou agreed to Professor Junxin's request for physics after correcting the test papers.

However, I think that Professor Zhou is very attentive to Junxin, so he did not start teaching Junxin immediately, but immediately ended the small talk with Professor Hu, returned to his office, and began to prepare teaching materials. Professor Zhou, who has stayed in the United States and is also a genius physicist, after reading Junxin's solution, completely concluded that Junxin is also a genius in physics, and genius should never be limited to lecture notes in class, so it is necessary to prepare a new textbook dedicated to teaching him knowledge.

After dealing with Junxin on Professor Zhou's side, the next thing to face is Professor Hu's endless fragments, which is also what Junxin found that Professor Hu sometimes really doesn't look like a high-powered member of the department, but like an old child who wants to be dissatisfied, but in the eyes of others, Professor Hu can't show such a side.

In desperation, Junxin could only promise to teach the students of the Department of Mathematics as soon as possible, and then escaped from Professor Hu's office in embarrassment.

In the next few days, Junxin was not anxious about the news from Professor Zhou's side at all, but wrote the second volume of his reference book "Mizuki University Mathematics Guide" step by step every day. Because it is fundamentally different from the second volume of the Princeton Guide to Mathematics edited by Professor Gowers, Junxin wrote his second volume based on Professor Gowers's practice of compiling textbooks, but even so, the progress was much worse than when he wrote the first volume, and it took about two weeks to complete about one-third of the content.

During this period, two things that had a big relationship with Junxin happened, the first thing was that with Junxin's encouragement, Gu Mengxue published her novella science fiction novel "Micro Continuity Theory" completed under Junxin's guidance under the pen name Mengzhongjun.

At Junxin's prompting, Gu Mengxue was also prepared to deal with all the troubles before sending it to the school magazine of Mizuki University, and after that, because of her unique reputation and relationship in the Faculty of Arts of Mizuki University (a trainee in the editorial department of the school magazine), it is expected to be published in April.

The second thing that has a lot to do with Junxin is that after the letters and samples sent by Junxin were received, many professors and research institutes of mathematics at universities have sent replies one after another.

Of course, Junxin's mathematics guide reference book has been well received by the professors of the Department of Mathematics, among which the letters from Mr. Su Buqing, President of Fudan University, and Professor Zhang, Dean of the Department of Mathematics of Peking University, have attracted the most attention from Junxin. Without him, in China at present, and even for a long time to come, it is the strongest research institution in the field of mathematics in China. Their reply attitude is of great reference significance to Junxin's manuscript.

In his reply to Junxin, Mr. Su Buqing first praised Junxin's achievements in mathematics and congratulated him. Then he talked about some of the problems in mathematical research. This is followed by some of the insights on differential geometry in the first volume, and some questions and suggestions are raised about some of them. Finally, he praised the value of this set of books, believed that it would play an important role in the understanding and research of mathematics in the Chinese mathematics community, and officially ordered 100 sets of "Shuimu University Mathematics Guide" from Junxin on behalf of the School of Mathematics of Fudan University as a reference book for the School of Mathematics. In addition, Mr. Su also urged Junxin to send the contents of the second and third volumes to Fudan as soon as possible.

The content of another letter from Professor Zhang is almost the same as that of Mr. Su Buqing, both of which give a very high evaluation of the content of the book and hope to see the full content of the manuscript. Like Fudan University, Professor Zhang, on behalf of the Department of Mathematics at Peking University, has ordered 100 sets of this set of books from Junxin as a teaching reference book for the Department of Mathematics.

is slightly different from Mr. Su Buqing, probably because Junxin is in Beijing. In the letter, Professor Zhang tentatively invited Junxin in an informal way, hoping that Junxin could take time to come to Peking University to give a lecture.

The Department of Mathematics at Peking University has always been the strongest department of mathematics in China, at least after the adjustment of the department, except for the Department of Mathematics of Fudan University, which can compete, no other university in China has been able to do this. The relationship between the mathematics department of Peking University and the mathematics department of Fudan University is a bit similar to that of the mathematics department of Princeton University and Harvard University in the United States. When I was a student in the mathematics department at Princeton, one of the most common words I heard in class was that even Harvard children could understand this simple question, and there was no need to waste time on it. At least Junxin had heard Professor Gowers say this no less than twenty times.

This is an opportunity, Junxin hopes that he can influence more people, naturally cherishes this opportunity to spread his mathematical ideas, and wrote a reply to Professor Zhang without hesitation, agreeing to this matter.

Since this matter was raised unofficially, Professor Zhang still needs to coordinate this matter with Peking University, but it should not be a big problem. After all, Junxin solved the Modell conjecture, which was a Fields Medal-level proof; At the same time, Junxin, as the brightest rising star of Chinese academia after the Cultural Revolution, has enough influence to invite Peking University to invite him.

But at the end of the day, the matter of the speech has not yet been decided, and Junxin will not pay too much attention to this uncertain matter, so he quickly put this matter on the back of his mind, and he now needs to focus more on his first class at Mizuki University in the upcoming three days.

Anyone has a different kind of emotion about their alma mater, which is indescribable, and sometimes it may not feel at all, but sometimes it can be very strong. And if you return to your alma mater to teach, what a beautiful scenery it is. If you take a step closer and receive an invitation to teach at your alma mater when you are still studying at your alma mater, what a beautiful scenery it is. At this point, even Junxin himself may not know what kind of feeling this is. However, the only thing Junxin himself is sure of is that he seems to have matured because of this incident. In my heart, it seems that there has been a subtle change because of the invitation, but Junxin does not reject this change, and even enjoys this change.

Therefore, for the first class after three days, Junxin took it very seriously, and this time he paid more attention to it than when he was teaching at USTC, and even pushed away all the things in the three days and concentrated on preparing for the class.
