Chapter 104: Resurrection of the Soul

I also feel very puzzled, because of the practice of the teacher, I think it should be no problem to go to a little ghost, but why do I have to ask the Zhixing Taoist to go? I just said what I thought.

Senior sister said: "Yes, I also had this idea at the beginning, but I later learned that Mrs. Shi was afraid that this little ghost would change during the surrender process, and what she was most afraid of was the technique of resurrecting the soul by borrowing the corpse, so I had to invite a special Taoist to come, so I would be more sure." ”

"Resurrection of a corpse?" I think I've heard this word somewhere, maybe I heard it from Master earlier, but I was still young at the time, so I didn't pay attention to it. My sister then told me some examples of borrowing corpses to resurrect souls.

The "resurrection of the corpse" that we know mainly comes from "Thirty-six Strategies", which is a description of resourcefulness, but what is really memorable is some things about Tie Gui Li, the head of the Eight Immortals.

Tiegui Li, also known as Li Tiegui, is the head of the eight immortals in Han folklore and Taoism. According to legend, his name is Li Ningyang or Li Honghong, or his name is Li Xuan, and he is called Li Kongmu. He was born and died about 418-326 B.C.E. Ba Guojin Kun people (now Lijiaba, Shimen Town, Jiangjin District, Chongqing City), now Lijiaba still has the remains of the medicine king view and the temple of the carpenter, the relics are located in the citrus orchard of Jiubenqiu, most of the buildings were destroyed in the Qing Dynasty, the foundation stone remains are still retained, Tie Guan Li cultivated in the stalagmite mountain in his later years, although it is the head of the famous Taoist Eight Immortals, but it is relatively late in the literature. Tie Guan Li is the head of the eight immortals in folklore, some books call his surname Li, his name is Hongshui, a native of Sui Dynasty Gorge, and Mr. Lu Xun's "History of China" says that his surname is Li, his name is Xuan; Zhao Yi's "Shen Yu Cong Kao" also said that his surname was Liu. It is said that he is a person between the Kaiyuan and Daizong calendars of Tang Xuanzong, who learned the Tao in Zhongnan Mountain, and once the Yuan Shen came out of the shell, he never thought that the corpse was eaten by the tiger, so he had to devote himself to a lame beggar. "The Immortal Tongjian of the Past Dynasties" said that he was originally a handsome husband, good at Taoism, and would make the Yuan Shen spell out, practiced in the Dangshan cave, and once responded to the appointment of the master Lao Tzu, the "Yuan Shen out of the shell" spell, went to Huashan thousands of miles away, and returned a few days later, and found that his body was burned by his disciples. That is, when he entered through the door of the hungry brain, his soul returned to his shell, and he became an ugly man with unkempt hair, tendrils, black face, huge eyes, and a lame right foot. It seems that he is a Taoist immortal who has been passed down by word of mouth and attached to everything.

It is said that the folk Li Ningyang, that is, Li Guier, was born very burly and was a very decent great husband. Although he was good at cultivation, he had not yet obtained the true way, so he followed Lao Tzu and Mr. Wanqiu to learn the Tao and lived in seclusion among the caves of Dangshan. On this day, he received an invitation from Lao Tzu and asked him to go to Huashan together. He left his body in the cave, and the spirit came out of the shell. Before leaving, he told a new apprentice: "If my primordial spirit does not come back in seven days, you will incinerate my corpse." ”

Why incineration? Taoists believe that the soul of a person is hidden in the liver, and the soul is hidden in the lungs, and the soul should follow when the original spirit travels, but the soul leaves the guard body. If the spirit does not return after seven days, the shell will rot, so it must be burned. Li Ningyang's Yuan Shen went to visit the mountains and rivers at ease, but the apprentice had to guard the body and couldn't leave, for fear that as soon as he left, he would become a snack for the tiger and wolf.

Coincidentally, on the sixth day, the apprentice's brother ran to say that his mother was critically ill and wanted to see him, and asked him to hurry home to fulfill his filial piety. This apprentice adhered to his master's orders and persevered for another night. On the seventh day, Master had not returned. waited until noon, the apprentice couldn't wait, so he burned the body and ran home to visit his mother. In the evening, Li Ningyang rushed back to the cave, but when he came out to look for the body, he had to think that he was unlucky.

Li Ningyang has no body, wandering, and already looks like a beggar on the street. When he saw a hungry corpse in the woods, he went hungry through the chimney. After jumping up, I felt that something was wrong, and then I realized that Hunger was a cripple. Hurriedly came to the water's edge to take a photo, only to see his dignity: black face and unkempt hair, tendrils and huge eyes, extremely ugly shape.

He was surprised, only to hear someone behind him clapping his hands and saying: The grass ridge thatched eaves, the windows are ruined and the pillars are broken, this room is very ugly, how can he get a bumper harvest! Li Ningyang looked back and saw that it was Lao Tzu. He hurriedly wanted to jump out of the Yuanlu, but Lao Tzu stopped him and said, the truth should be sought outside the appearance, not just the appearance. As long as you are perfect, you are a true immortal in different phases. This preaching made Li Ningyang desperately unwilling to change his body, so Lao Tzu gave him a golden hoop to tie his messy hair, and gave him an iron rod to crude. He rubbed his eyes with both hands, and rubbed the eye sockets like two big holes, so he called himself Li Kongmu, and people often ignored his characteristic and only paid attention to the crutches, so they called him Tie Guan Li.

It has been passed down from generation to generation, and various sayings are different, but basically it is also a meaning, and some people say that it is said that the original name of Tie Guan Li was Li Xuan, and he once met Taishang Laojun to get the Tao. Once, its soul left its body and wandered among the three mountains and five mountains. Before leaving, he instructed his apprentice to take care of the body, but Li Xuan's soul wandered around and lingered. The apprentices waited for a long time, and when they saw that the master's body was always frozen there, and could not survive, they mistakenly thought that he was dead, so they cremated him. When Li Xuan returned, his body was gone, and his soul had no place to return. It happened that there was a starving beggar on the side of the road nearby, and the corpse was still fresh, so Li Xuan attached his soul to the beggar corpse in a hurry. After borrowing the corpse to return to the soul, Li Xuan was unrecognizable from the original Li Xuan, unkempt, with an open belly and exposed chest, and a limp. In order to support his body and walk, Li Xuan sprayed a mouthful of fairy water on a bamboo pole used by the original beggar, and the bamboo pole immediately turned into an iron rod.

The story of Tie Guan Li's resurrection of the corpse is also seen in the miscellaneous drama "Lu Dong Bindu Tie Guan Li Yue" written by Yue Bochuan in the Yuan Dynasty, and it is also recorded in the later "Journey to the East", but the plot is different. The superstitious folklore of resurrection of the dead. Later, it was metaphorically referred to the phenomenon of something that had already died being resurrected in some form; Sometimes it can also be used as a metaphor for the phenomenon of something new or a new force seeking development with the help of an old thing or an old form. In the above two cases, the meaning of the so-called "corpse", "soul", "borrowed" and "returned" is different.

There are many cases of soul possession in ancient and modern China and foreign countries, and there is a record in the 186th volume of the "History of the Yuan": Zhang Zhen was a person from the Yuan Dynasty and held the official position of county Yin in Gaoyou, Jiangsu. Gaoyou had a thousand households guarding the city, nicknamed Gou'er, who had a wife and a concubine in the family, and the concubine said bad things about his wife to Gou'er, and Gou'er killed his wife Cui Shi with his concubine and buried the body in the ground behind the house. The day later, Cui's resentment was attached to a seven-year-old girl, who was controlled by the unjust soul and ran to the county official's yamen alone to accuse Zhang Zhen of the crime of killing Cui's with his concubine, and also explained the place where the body was buried. Zhang Zhen led his subordinate officers and soldiers to the place where the little girl said that the body was buried, and sure enough, he dug up Cui's body, immediately arrested the dog and his concubine, and sentenced him to death. The above is contained in the official history and is extremely reliable.

There is also a legend that in the early years, an old couple raised two children, the eldest was the elder sister, who was five years older than the younger brother. The younger brother is very good-looking, smart and clever, and his father loves him very much, and he named him Ruyi. When Ruyi was fourteen years old, her sister got married. This winter, my father and mother died of illness, and Ruyi was the only one left in the family, lonely and helpless, so my sister took Ruyi to her house. His brother-in-law worked as an axeman in the yali, specializing in cutting off the heads of prisoners. The messenger he did was indeed frightening. But he acted as a man, not only kind, but also spoke kindly. Treat Ruyi like a brother. Children should not be too pampered, and they don't read wishful books anymore, and they mix with those little balls and miscellaneous children every day, and they don't learn well and do bad things.

The first time he went back to steal someone's house, after committing the crime, his brother-in-law bought it and spent a lot of money to settle it. But Ruyi felt that his brother-in-law was powerful, rich and powerful, and he was not afraid of anything.

After five years, Ruyi grew into a young man, and he dared to do anything. Once Ruyi got into a fight with someone for gambling money, and killed someone on the spot, not only was he not afraid, but he also said nonchalantly: "What is it to kill someone?" That's what my brother-in-law is in charge of, what can he do to me? Is it a big deal to spend a few bucks?" Ruyi was arrested and put in prison, and betrayed to "compensate" for the death penalty. What can his brother-in-law do? regrets that he was too spoiled by Ruyi on weekdays, so he broke into such a catastrophe. There is no spell for the two of them. His brother-in-law said to his sister, "It can't be done now. Only if he is not afraid and eats something good, he will be worthy of your dead father. But when the time comes, I have to cut off his head with my own hands, how can I do this?" His sister said, "What's the way?" You are doing this, and he doesn't know it, can he still blame you? Let him do it to himself!"

betrayed the death penalty, Ruyi was really scared, but every time my sister visited the prison, she always tried her best to comfort him: "Brother, you have a generous heart and promise to be fine, isn't it just to go to prison for a few more days?" Besides, if your brother-in-law does this, can he kill you? When the time comes, I will call you out. The brother-in-law often persuaded him in this way. Ruyi believes that it is true, and talks and laughs every day like a person who has nothing to do. On the day of the killing, the servants took Ruyi out of prison, inserted the death card, and escorted him to the court. It scared the hell out of him. When he looked back, his brother-in-law was holding a ghost-headed big knife in his arms, and he followed him angrily, crying and saying, "Brother-in-law! Isn't this going to kill your head?" The brother-in-law whispered to him: Don't be afraid, I won't kill you, but remember that when the time comes, as soon as you hear me say "run", you can run quickly, and I have everything arranged. “

It was three o'clock in the afternoon, and the servants knelt down according to him, and he looked back at his brother-in-law, and just as he was about to speak, his brother-in-law took the big knife in his hand and said, "Run!" With a grunt, the head fell to the ground. Ruyi got up and ran away. After running for about three or four miles, he came to a big tree, gasping for breath, and when he looked back, there was not even a figure chasing him. I thought: It's still my brother-in-law's great powers, and he finally saved me. I'm going to fly away and run for my life.

What the hell is going on? How do you get up and run when your head hits the ground? It turned out that it was not Ruyi who ran, but his soul. When he ran to rest under the tree, it happened that a young long-term worker of a rich man's family was sleeping. After falling asleep, his soul left his body and went elsewhere. Ruyi's soul happened to arrive, and it was attached to Changgong's body to "borrow the corpse to return the soul". The soul of wishful thinking, the body of long-term labor, has become true wishful. But Ruyi personally didn't know that he had borrowed the corpse to return his soul. After resting for a while, he got up and walked again, and he walked all the way to Nanjing. He asked for food during the day and slept under the eaves of a pharmacy at night. In the morning, I cleaned the patio of others, and even the street in front of the door was clean. The shopkeeper of this pharmacy saw that the young man Ruyi was very good-looking, honest and diligent, so he let him be a buddy.

The shopkeeper has only one daughter, and the age is about the same as Ruyi, so he recruited Ruyi as an old son-in-law, and since then Ruyi has not only had a home, but also become a young shopkeeper in the pharmacy. In the second year, another kid was added, a family of three, and life was quite comfortable. Don't forget the well diggers, I can have today, it's all thanks to my brother-in-law! He wrote a letter, how he escaped to Nanjing, became a pharmacy shopkeeper, married a wife and held children, etc., and sent it home.

Ruyi's brother-in-law received the letter, and it was simply a matter of confusion for the eighth monk. I thought, Ruyi was cut off by my own hands, and I buried the body with my own hands, why would there be another living Ruyi to write to me? Could it be someone else's impostor? Wrong! What are people doing with a murdered brother-in-law? Thinking about it, I can't figure out what's going on. The two discussed and decided to reply to him with a letter, saying that the murder case had already been solved, so let's go home boldly and with confidence.

When Ruyi received the reply, he immediately went home, and walked to the place where he rested when he fled for his life, and took this place as a memorial, and then stopped to rest for a while! As soon as I closed my eyes, I heard a shout: "Good Ruyi, we have been looking for you for more than three years, and I didn't expect to see you today!" If you don't pay for your life, heaven and earth will not tolerate it! Let's go, follow me to the Netherworld to see Lord Yama! After a while, two little ghosts came over, their hair was scattered, their teeth were grinning, and they left with Ruyi. Ruyi was so frightened that he let out an "ah" and fainted to the ground. As soon as his soul came out of the shell, the soul of Changgong was found. He wandered in the field for three or four years before he finally found himself, and suddenly he woke up. When I opened my eyes, I said, "Oh, why am I wearing such clothes?" Where did my hoe go? I must have been stolen by someone after I fell asleep! So he went home in a daze.

As soon as the owner saw that Changgong had returned, he said "ouch": "Where have you been in the past three or four years?" Your family has a lawsuit with a VIP in me. This lawsuit is still hanging to this day! Let's go, come with me and close the case! This KitKat case is closed.

Such a thing not only existed in ancient times, but also in modern times in 1949 Taiwan's resurrection of the corpse in the protagonist Zhu Xiuhua, who was killed by pirates in Kinmen, Taiwan, she died without her eyes, so he and she rejoined the world with the help of a Taiwanese village girl Lin Qiwaist, when Lin Yuan's husband Wu Qiude suddenly found that her wife was not awake, so he immediately sent Lin Xuanwaist to the hospital, and died for unknown reasons, and later on the day of Lin Xuan's funeral, her body suddenly rose in front of everyone, and said to everyone that my name is Zhu Xiuhua, I have been resurrected with the help of Lin's waist, at that time, including Lin's husband Wu Qiude and other people were stunned by this scene, after the resurrection of the corpse incident was made public, the world's psychic scientists including the United States, Japan and other places came to Taiwan to visit this Zhu Xiuhua woman, and became the focus of the international sensation for a while. Later, in order to avoid the media of various countries, Wu Qiude took Zhu Xiuhua, who borrowed his wife's body, away from the city and went to the suburbs of Taiwan to live together. Decades ago, Taiwan's resurrection of the corpse was indeed a rare sensational supernatural news in the world, and was interviewed by Miss Li Yu, a reporter from "Buddhism Today" magazine, Mai Liao. This is a true fact, so I want to tell you this story of resurrection from the dead, not to make you feel strange, but to prove that there are indeed six reincarnations in this world, karma, and this happened in Taiwan today.

Therefore, although the reincarnation of the human world enters the path of impermanence, there are some exceptions, and it is still obsessed with continuing the wandering of the soul.
