Chapter 44: The Omen
Dusk has arrived, and the sky is covered with a gorgeous fuchsia sunset and clouds that roll in the wind. Pen @ fun @ pavilion wWw. ļ½ļ½ļ½Uļ½Eć ļ½ļ½ļ½ļ½
After completing the meeting, the group of six dropped off their rented car and boarded the shuttle bus to the airport.
"Hey, Dave, let me tell you, the Grand Canyon is really spectacular, we did a helicopter, and we looked down from the air, and watched the huge crack that the gods had chiseled open, and the howling wind was blowing, and I almost thought I was going to fall, but I breathed in that wind, and let the warm and bloody sun shine on my face, I think, there are really a lot of beautiful things in this world!" Chris dances on the shuttle bus, gushing about their experiences.
"Well, that's a great place to be, and if Chris hadn't minus the Grand Canyon with such pompous tones, I'd have liked it even more!" Mindy couldn't help but laugh, chewing on the piece of gum in her mouth and complaining rather viciously about Chris's words.
"Isn't that the truth what I'm talking about? I just used some beautiful words, and even if you didn't learn that, you shouldn't insult me like that, Mindy! Chris raised his chin and said in a lofty voice, "You're only a freshman in high school, after all." ā
"Come on, Chris, I saw it last night, you flipped through the propaganda paper of the Grand Canyon and read it for half an hour, you memorized the previous paragraph!" Peter followed up and made Chris completely defeated.
"Well, but we do owe a lot to Chris, he did a lot for us on this trip!" Madi hurriedly came up to play the round, patted Chris on the shoulder, and said.
"yes, definitely enough brother, he's great!" Todd followed suit.
"Oh! You two have a good conscience! Chris perked up and hooked up with Madidodd.
"Alright, guys, it's time to get off, stop playing tricks, and take your luggage."
When they arrived at the airport, it was exactly seven o'clock, and by this time, it was completely dark.
The group went to the ticket counter of US Airways with their luggage to pick up the tickets and checked them in by the way.
When it was Dave's turn, Cthun, who was beside him, suddenly touched him.
"What's wrong?"
"Please turn back, master!" Cthun said to Dave via a psychic link.
Then, looking back, Dave saw the flashing flight index board, the electronic screen showing the flight and the gate flickering at an ominous frequency.
What's more, this is Cthun's discovery, and it is no ordinary circuit anomaly.
"What's going on, Cthun?"
"That's an omen." Cthun said in a mysterious "tone".
"Omens?"
Dave frowned, looked at it for a long time, and even the flight attendant's polite inquiry came from behind him.
"Hello, do you want to check it in?" Please show your ticket and ID! ā
Dave turned his head, and in the meantime, he made eye contact with a young man at the next counter, who apparently had also noticed an anomaly in the display.
"Oh, beauty, yes, of course I'm going to check it in." Like the beautiful flight attendant sister smiled, Dave said, "By the way, do you guys often do this on the screens here?" Flashing? ā
"No, it might just be a temporary circuit failure!" The big sister obviously didn't care about such small details, he concentrated on the work at hand, "All right, sir, please give me your luggage!" ā
"Okay!" Dave handed her a suitcase, which was a collapsible mech case that Tony had made in a hurry, and it was also the Mark Three that belonged to Dave.
āā
"Our flight number is E318, look for E318......" The crowd gathered in front of the screen, looking for their boarding gate.
"Hey, I saw it!" Mindy smiled cutely, "At 47, we're at Gate 47. ā
"Oh, prime numbers, I hate prime numbers!" Todd said.
"What's so annoying, don't you think prime numbers have a unique beauty?" Peter, a science enthusiast, immediately objected.
"So you like 13, Peter?"
"Oh, I didn't say that!"
"Okay, now that we've found the gate, let's eat now, the plane is at ten o'clock in the evening, and we still have two and a half hours, which is enough to solve the dinner problem."
"Dave, I'm going to eat Japanese udon! And strawberry sundaes! Mindy shouted at Dave.
"Okay, but I don't know where Japanese food is found at the airport, what about you? With us? ā
"Of course, Dave."
At nine o'clock, the group finally finished their meal and rushed to the waiting area next to Gate 47.
After finding a few empty seats and sitting down, Dave looked around boredly, and then, to his surprise, he found the young man who had looked at each other once before, and the young man who also noticed the screen flickering was sitting in the waiting area of Gate 46, with a group of classmates.
Dave saw the young man pick up a book for a beautiful woman, and then walked to the floor-to-ceiling window next to the waiting area, and observed the plane outside the window, which was a very strange move, because few people would look at their own plane as if they had never seen it.
This added to Dave's doubts, and he began to wonder if the young man was some ****** element. Or rather, a terrorist with a bomb strapped to his body, who wants to die with the plane......
"Cthun, check on the young man. Did he have any contraband on him? ā
"Report to the master, there's nothing."
"Hey, Dave, what's wrong?" Minty, who was sitting next to Dave, noticed that Dave was abnormal, and she put her little head to Dave's ear, lowered her voice, and asked, and at the same time, she also caught her eyes on the young man.
"Cthun reminds me of certain omens......"
"What omen?"
"A flickering screen or something? Hey, Mindy, help me check out the 46 flights, and don't let those people notice, I always think there might be some dangerous bomb maniac among them......"
"How could it be such a coincidence?" Glancing at Dave with disgust, Mindy still pretended to be an innocent and romantic little girl and went out for a spin.
"H180, flight number is H180."
ā180ļ¼180ļ¼180ļ¼ā The string of numbers evoked some memories of Dave, but it was too long for him to ring where the number came from, but he already had a feeling that something bad might happen to the flight.
Just as Dave was thinking, Todd came back with water from the bathroom, and he said with a smile on his face, "Hey guys, do you know what I just heard in the toilet?" ā
"What?" Peter took over curiously.
"I heard someone listening to the radio, and it sang again: I saw the rain of fire falling from the sky~~"
Todd sang emotionally, but in exchange for the confusion of a group of people.
"Hey, I know it's a John Denver song, but what's the matter, Todd?" Maddy asked, spreading his hands.
"Okay, you guys, I'm going to give you a trivia that John Denver died in a plane crash!" Todd said helplessly.
This sentence fell on Dave's ears like a bolt from the blue, running through his train of thought.
"Cthun, is this also an omen?"
"Perhaps, master, but that's not for you!"
(There is a change in the evening~)
