Chapter 8: The Last Night

The middle-aged man took Qi Luoling to go for an examination. Pen? Interesting? Pavilion wWw. biquge。 Info's cold examination equipment swept across Qi Luoling's warm skin, and she felt pain from the bottom of her heart. Physical discomfort and fear of death were intertwined, and she felt extremely uncomfortable.

The pain of waiting for death is far greater than death itself, and the pain of death itself is insignificant. Time is passing bit by bit, death comes without suspense, and there is still nothing you can do.

"Congratulations, Miss Qi, you are indeed pregnant!" After a series of complicated examinations, the middle-aged man held the final report card in his hand and smiled and said hello to Qi Luoling.

Qi Luoling nodded hesitantly. There was no joy in her heart, only sadness. The child's father is now like a sleeping woman, and his soul is curled up in some dark world. If she really died, she would rather her soul after death be able to replace him from that corner. If not, she was willing to stay in that place forever with his soul.

"I wonder why you came to this hospital and got pregnant. Everything is so coincidental that something seems to be fulfilled in the dark? The middle-aged man was silent for a long time and said.

Qi Luoling was silent.

"Also, she has been sleeping for so many years, and no one has come to look for her. Do you know who the father of the fetus in her womb is? The middle-aged man asked again.

Qi Luoling shook her head.

"So, are you going to stay here tonight?" The middle-aged man asked.

"Yes." Qi Luoling pondered for a moment and nodded.

Night came, and a thin mist rose. The black slowly invaded the city. Qi Luoling turned off the light in the ward and lay down on a small bed next to her. This bed is narrow and is a simple single plank bed. The stiff wooden bed made Qi Luoling feel very uncomfortable.

Qi Luoling tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Sometimes she turned sideways to stare at her sleeping next to her, and sometimes she looked up at the ceiling in the dark, and she couldn't see anything but the darkness.

When did her slumber begin? Was it really twenty-four years ago? If it is true, then time is really like a hideous devil, with an abominable face, every minute and every second is like breaking through a cocoon, one after another, so long that it will make people feel like tearing and hurting.

Does the sleeping woman like music? If so, what kind of music do you like? Do you prefer Beethoven, Mozart or Chopin? Is she also fascinated by classical music?

The more doubts and thoughts there are, the more Qi Luoling becomes more and more sober. This lucidity made her hear a silent emptiness, a funnel-like passage of time.

A soothing music wafted out of the dark room, long and soft, like a long stream of water. This kind of spiritual enjoyment is like drinking a glass of fragrant pure brew, which makes people feel endless and does not feel exhausted. In this dreamlike music, Qi Luoling fell into a deep sleep......

It wasn't until the morning, when the middle-aged man knocked softly on the door, that Qi Luoling woke up. When she woke up, she felt all over her limbs, and she hadn't been as good as she had fallen asleep last night. When it was time for breakfast, the middle-aged man took Qi Luoling to the cafeteria in the hospital.

"It's a shame she still didn't wake up. I thought she'd wake up as soon as you came. The middle-aged man said in a regretful tone.

"I don't understand, what she's waiting for me to come?" Qi Luoling looked at the white walls of the restaurant in confusion.

"We shouldn't give up hope too soon, I'm sure you're the one she's waiting for, though I'm not the real reason for it."

"Time is running out, I only have one day."

"Where the hell are you going?"

"I don't know, I'm not going to stay here anyway."

Time passed bit by bit, and the huge clock in the hospital hall swayed again and again, and every hour there would always ring a dull bell, and the sound fell on Qi Luoling's heart, like a mournful mourning song slowly played.

The night began to cover again, and the last night came.

Midnight came, and Qi Luoling didn't stay in that ward. She walked down the hall and outside. Gray clouds drifted, and the white moon was revealed. The cold afterglow shone on the ground and fell on her, elongating into a long black shadow.

Qi Luoling stepped on the black shadow and moved forward step by step. There was no one around, all the people were asleep, and the whole world was asleep. She was alone, walking in the direction of the moonlight, and she felt so lonely that her heart was almost broken.

The whirring night breeze blew through her fragile ears, and there was an oppressive silence in the black clouds, as if playing a symphony of fate, unyielding in defiance and yet so isolated and helpless.

Suddenly, Qi Luoling heard an inexplicable sigh behind her, and an elongated shadow approached her......
