Chapter 193: Funeral 1

Welcome to Guanshu Network:

"Boom...... ......"A firecracker with a firelight flew into the air of Wangzhuang, which was peaceful in the early morning, when the sky began to be a little cloudy, and then exploded, and the person with good ears woke up immediately, and then lay on the head of the bed, until he heard the other two firecrackers, he immediately closed his clothes and rushed out of the courtyard door as quickly as possible.

Firecrackers three sounds, this is the first thing that people need to do in the countryside after they breathe, roughly means that someone has passed away, under the notice, this is a rule left for thousands of years, more sound, less that is not done. The people I met on the road asked each other whose family was sending a sign of mourning, and whose family was most likely to return to heaven.

The old people smoked big cigarettes with solemn faces, thinking to themselves which childhood playmate should have left first this time, and maybe it would be their turn to be the next one in the village. The women don't need to be greeted, they have to hurry up and prepare to help, and if there is a funeral in the countryside, it will be a helper who wants to go to the sea. Young adults, that is the representative of their own family, are naturally ready to contribute, lifting in the middle, building graves in the grave, and some have to be used as foot force, in that era, funeral is also a very grand thing. As for the children, they are kept at home by the older grandmothers and are not allowed to go out, for fear of touching the mold, in fact, most of the children do not feel sad on this occasion, on the contrary, they will feel very lively because this is a rare gathering of the whole village.

After a while, the family representatives of the whole village basically gathered at the Wang family, and everyone was talking about who had died in the Wang family, and the sharp-eyed people saw that Cha Wenbin, a Taoist priest, had changed into the purple gold robe and stood in the Wang family's compound.

The obituary was written by Cha Wenbin himself, and the time when He Lao returned to heaven was written on big red paper, and he also calculated which genera and which eight characters to rush, which is to tell the big guys that some people have to be avoided, and if you don't get it right, you have to be rushed.

When they learned that it was He Lao who had passed away, the people in the village began to sigh, although He Lao was not from Wangzhuang, but he was better than the villagers here. He Lao is upright and kind, and he is still the most knowledgeable among the people who can take his relatives out here, but he is an expert, and those old villagers in Wangzhuang who need to go to the provincial capital to do business basically go to him. As long as the villagers go, He Lao will most likely stay with others for a drink, and then arrange to spend the night in his own home.

"He Lao is a good person!" , that's what the people in the village say.

According to the usual practice, Cha Wenbin himself became an undertaker first, because he was an only son, Chaozi, so the matter of bathing the old man fell on his nephew Wang Xin.

When the daughters-in-law in the village put on He Lao's shroud, they found that the old man's chest was so thin that only ribs remained, and tears fell down like beads.

He Lao walked with his eyes closed, and Chaozi has been kneeling since he left. Wherever He Lao's body was, he knelt there, refused to get up a step, and even walked on his knees.

The wooden door of the Wang family was torn down and placed in the hall, and two long large benches were taken and placed underneath, and a layer of red satin quilt was laid on the wooden board, and He Lao, who was wearing a shroud and shoes, slept on it, and his body was covered with a thin quilt. He Lao was very peaceful, as if he had fallen asleep, and even when people were tidying up his room later, they found that the spittoon under the table had turned red, and the old man walked very decently and calmly.

Cha Wenbin secretly felt in his heart that he must organize this funeral for him, so that his old friend could take the last leg of his journey.

The mourning hall is located in the hall, and many people have been sent away here, and even Mrs. Wang may not have thought that her daughter and son-in-law would eventually leave here.

A large black coffin has been carried in by people with thick hemp rope tied to "squeak, squeak", and it is also cushioned by two large benches, side by side beside He Lao, hanging a miserable white mourning curtain. This coffin was originally prepared by the wife of an old lady Wang, and she is now the oldest person in this Wang Zhuang, who has lost her father and daughter, and even her son-in-law has come to her in front of her, and this coffin is used by her son-in-law first.

Although the old lady of the Wang family was strong, she couldn't withstand the blows one after another, and she was lying on the bed crying, and the daughters-in-law of several grandchildren were taking care of her.

The filial sons of the Wang family, at this time, were already wearing white filial piety, wearing filial piety clothes, with hemp ropes tied around their waists, standing on both sides of the mourning hall to receive the guests who came to mourn, He Yichao and Wang Xin, their juniors and their daughters-in-law, and the relatives of He Lao's grandchildren were wearing filial piety clothes, kneeling in front of the mourning hall and crying. There is a saying in the countryside, the more people cry and mourn, the smoother the people go, He Yichao has red eyes, and a piece of paper money is burning one after another, and he didn't hold it back for a while, and he cried out in a loud voice:

"Dad, you just closed your eyes and left, go to my mother. How can you bear to leave me alone in this world, I haven't married yet, and you haven't hugged your grandson yet......" The words in his mouth were all about letting He Lao take care of his mother after he went down.

When the others heard him cry like this, they couldn't help but feel sad too, and they all started crying. Saying that, Chaozi threw himself at his father's corpse like crazy, but was pressed to the ground by Zhuo Xiong and Hengrou Face, Chaozi's nostrils were bubbling with so bitterness, and he didn't know whether it was tears or snot on his face, which was really sad.

Cha Wenbin doesn't have to do any Dharma during the day, but there are other things left to him, which are left to be disdained by Taoist priests on weekdays, but this time he did it himself.

The first is to write elegiac couplets.

Someone in this countryside has to write a pair of elegiac couplets after death, the size is about the same as the Spring Festival couplets, but you have to use white rice paper as the base, black thick ink writing, written on both sides of the gate after writing, in the next three years, this family is not allowed to paste red couplets during the Spring Festival, in order to show that filial piety for three years, not to participate in the celebration of anything. He Lao's elegiac couplet pasted at the gate was written by Cha Wenbin himself:

Shanglian Road: The crane has disappeared with the clouds

The next link: The sound of the cuckoo is still cold with moonlight

Horizontal batch: Baowu Xingshen

These big characters, each of them are square, and the pen is sonorous and powerful, all of which were written by Cha Wenbin in one go. There are some old people in Wang Zhuang who love calligraphy after reading this couplet, and they are all privately commenting on the words of this Taoist priest who are really good-looking and imposing!

The second thing is to write a funeral letter for the person who sent the letter.

In the countryside at that time, communication was not convenient, and telephones were not yet widespread, let alone mobile phones. In the past, it was to send a pair of new cloth shoes to the mourners, and then to send a pair of cloth shoes to the mourners, and then now people want to save trouble, so they will be distributed with a pair of liberation shoes, so that he can wear them to notify distant relatives to come to mourn.

This funeral is very particular, and Cha Wenbin told those who sent the letter about this precautions.

First: be able to walk as much as possible, this represents a kind of respect for the deceased, you really can't catch a car, don't talk to others on the road, the contents of this envelope can not be taken out to strangers.

Second: If you meet a long way and need to spend the night, then you can't go to the farmer's house to spend the night, which is disrespectful, and will bring bad luck to others, so you can't hold it back, so you can only choose the old ancestral hall in those villages to make do with it for one night.

Third: When you arrive at the recipient's house, you must not enter the door, you have to call the owner out outside the door, but also to avoid bringing bad luck in, and you are not allowed to eat with the recipient on the road, the recipient's first meal must be boiled to this Wangzhuang to eat white tofu, and you can eat some dry food brought from here on the way to satisfy your hunger.

Fourth: After returning to Wangzhuang, you need to take people to the mourning hall to kowtow and burn incense before you can return home. Before entering the door, you need to take off your shoes, enter the door barefoot, and then grab a handful of rice mixed with tea and sprinkle it behind your back out of the door, and then you have to go to the shower and change clothes immediately, which is also to prevent the mourners from getting bad luck themselves. Because it was a funeral letter, some lonely ghosts on the road saw it, and they would follow, wanting to find an opportunity to reincarnate, and it was easy to bring it into their own home.

Therefore, this letter delivery is really hard work, and most of the people who are willing to send letters also have a good relationship with the host's family. Fortunately, He Lao and the Wang family are usually highly respected, and there are not many people who send letters.

The third thing is to help write a few heavenly master talismans and stick them on the gate to hang, this kind of black rune paper is pasted for the door god, the purpose is to prevent those wild ghosts from coming in and rushing to reincarnate. It is also to be able to keep the master's family at peace when he does seven in the future.

After doing this, Cha Wenbin spent the whole day guarding the sleeping lamp, adding some oil to it from time to time, fiddling with the flames, so that it burned more vigorously, and muttered in his mouth to let He Lao Lu see more clearly, don't fall. At this time, Cha Wenbin really didn't look like a Taoist priest, but like a person who lost his old friends and felt lonely.

The women of the village are busy washing vegetables and washing dishes; The men were divided into several groups, one group set up a tent at the door and ate under this open hood, and the other group was responsible for killing pigs and sheep and beating tofu, which was the most important thing for the white ceremony, some were responsible for carrying tables and chairs, and some were responsible for entertaining guests.

In short, all the people in the village perform their duties, and they are not idle, and in the materially underdeveloped rural areas, people rely on unity, rely on helping each other to come over, and when one family has something, ten thousand families come to help.

Originally, He Lao's funeral was done in accordance with the rules, but no one expected that Cha Wenbin's thousand instructions, and the incident that Wan instructed finally had some accidents......
