Chapter Twenty-Six: Ghost Grinding

I was kneeling on top of the futon, secretly laughing in my heart at the fact that the temple of repentance was not worthy of its name.

Suddenly, a very bad feeling came over me. I don't know what's wrong, I always feel like danger is around.

Instinctively, I wanted to get up and run away. At this time, I realized that my body was soft and had no strength at all.

The feeling was familiar, a frightening familiarity.

When I was thinking in a panic, I suddenly heard Xue Qian shouting behind me: Lao Zhao, hurry up and save me, something happened.

I hurriedly turned around, but there was no shadow of Xue Qian in the black hole behind me.

My head buzzed: it's over, my natal lamp. The feeling of weakness just now is clearly the feeling of losing the natal lamp.

Ever since Mr. Lu left me that picture of the Buddha's teachings, I have been studying the natal lamp. Gather information everywhere. These sources contradict each other, and there is a saying for everything. But most of them think. People do have three lights, and these three lamps represent people's natal yang fire. The reason why ghosts do not infringe on living people at will is because people are protected by this yang fire. The old, weak, sick and disabled are most likely to get into trouble, because the yang fire in their bodies is weaker than that of young people.

I know that these three lights are one above my head and two on my shoulder. If a ghost wants to hook a ghost, he will do everything he can to lure people back. Every time I turned around, a light was blown out. When the three lights go out and the sun fire disappears, the ghosts can do whatever they want.

Thinking of this, my cold sweat came down. This temple of repentance, what futon, is all a pretense, this place is not for people to repent at all, but to blow out people's natal lamps and soothe people's souls.

I fumbled around my body, trying to pull out the corpse's teeth, but my hand reached into my pocket, and I didn't have the strength to lift it again.

I knelt on the futon, my whole body was out of strength, I shook twice, and I fell to the ground. Something was pressing down on my lower back, and it hurt.

I tried my best and looked down. It's the big knife I brought.

When I saw this knife, a glimmer of hope welled up in my heart: this knife is not a murderous person, and with the ferocity on it, I should be able to survive today.

I was lying on the ground thinking about it when I suddenly felt someone helping me. I involuntarily stood up, and when I looked up, I saw Xue Qian standing in front of me.

I moved my arms and legs, and the feeling of detachment disappeared. I said strangely: The little ghost here is very interesting, blowing out my natal lamp, but not doing it.

Xue Qian pointed to Xiaozhou with a blank and nervous face: Look at it, what is he doing?

I turned my head and saw that the boat was already on its feet. He stood upright at the temple gate, knocking on the temple door mechanically with his right hand, knocking quickly and densely, without stopping.

I was terrified when I heard it: this kind of urgent knocking on the door is only used when reporting funerals.

Unexpectedly, a few minutes later, the temple door really opened. Then the boat walked in with his legs raised.

Xue Qian looked at me and asked, "What should we do?"

I looked at the dark doorway, gritted my teeth, and said, "Let's go too."

I touched the corpse tooth in my pocket, and at the critical moment, this thing can save my life. But once I took it in, I couldn't speak softly, so I grabbed him tightly and didn't take it out. Xue Qian looked at me, and honestly and unceremoniously reached out and snatched my big knife away.

The two of us, fully armed, trembled and walked towards the small temple.

The temple gate is small, with a black portico in the middle. The two of us were almost groping, slowly moving forward.

After walking for a few minutes, I suddenly heard a strange sound, like muffled thunder in the distance.

Xue Qian pulled me, pointed to the front, and said: Look, there seems to be light over there.

I looked up, and sure enough, there was a glimmer of light leaking out. The two of us walked over with knives in hand, suspicious. I noticed that the porch was turning a corner over there. The front suddenly opened up, and it was a large brightly lit courtyard.

Inside the courtyard is a huge stone mill. A shirtless man is bending over, pushing and grinding, turning round and round. The muffled thunder just now was the sound of the big grinding discs rubbing against each other.

Xue Qian and I were dumbfounded, a little at a loss.

Xue Qian whispered in my ear: Lao Zhao, this grinder should be a ghost, right?

Actually, I already thought it was a ghost. But I'm still cautious about saying: we can't jump to conclusions, can we?

Xue Qian pointed to the grinding plate: You look at the things on it, don't you understand?

I looked at it as I said, and I almost turned my back on it. On this millstone was a half-cut body of a man. The half of his body was a blur of flesh and blood. As the stone mill rotated at high speed, the man was slowly swept into the grinding eye. After a few seconds, from the inside of the grinding slit flows a mixture of blood and flesh comes.

Xue Qian was already colorless. I could hear the scraggling of his upper and lower teeth. I was afraid that he would fall to the ground, so I carefully reached out and held him up.

Xue Qian trembled and said in my ear: Lao Zhao, this is too terrible. Let's go.

I actually wanted to go, but the boat was still inside. I brought the people, and I can't just leave. So I pulled myself together and said to myself, "Don't be afraid, what's there to be afraid of?" Do you think he's grinding tofu?

Xue Qian's body trembled even more: After a while, will the two of us also become human tofu?

As soon as I heard this, I immediately retreated. No matter how responsible I am, I don't want to put my life in for the sake of the boat.

So I said to Xue Qian: Let's go. This place is too dangerous. Let's go.

Xue Qian shook her head slowly: Lao Zhao, I can't go. If you don't listen to the call on your two legs, can you carry me on your back?

My eyes widened in anger and I was about to curse. Suddenly, someone not far away laughed loudly: Since this friend's leg is inconvenient. Then take my sedan chair.

As soon as Xue Qian heard this, she suddenly snorted from her throat, and then as if she had come back to her senses, she pulled me and shouted: Run, there are really ghosts.

The two of us turned around and ran two steps, and then we found that in the dark corridor, there were two flickering red lights, which were two lanterns.

The two of us didn't dare to run forward anymore, and stood in the hallway, carefully discerning where the lantern was coming from.

As the light approached, I could see clearly. It's three imps.

The first one walked in front with a red lantern in his hand. And this person's appearance is clearly Xiaozhou, but at this time, he has a weird smile on his face, and he is no longer Xiaozhou I know at all.

The remaining two, carrying a red palanquin, were hidden in the shadows, their faces blurred.

Now we are under the enemy, and in front of us is a sedan chair that we don't know where it came from. Behind it is a murderous grinding disc.

Xue Qian asked me nervously: Master Zhao, what should we do?

I waved my hand: Don't call me Master Zhao. Don't you know how many pounds and taels I have? I pointed to the big knife in his hand: Don't be afraid, we still have this treasure.

Xue Qian was stunned for a moment, and then said with some hesitation: It was Xiaozhou on the other side, and it didn't seem good to cut him. He hesitated for two seconds, and suddenly as if he had made up his mind, he said in a deep voice: Cutting off his leg should not be fatal.

Seeing that the boat was approaching. Xue Qian couldn't help but say, and slashed with a knife. The big knife slashed through with a silver glow, and the orientation was well handled, and it was right on the thigh of the boat.

I heard a crunch. It's like iron hitting porcelain. I thought to myself: How is this happening? Could it be that the boat has become a ghost? It turns out that the knife is so brittle on the ghost.

However, the next second my heart was pounding. Because I saw that Xiaozhou was still approaching me and Xue Qian step by step. He didn't seem to be hurt.

I asked Xue Qian in a panic: What's the matter?

Xue Qian looked at the big knife in her hand with a pale face. The original silver sword suddenly had many cracks, and then fell to the ground with a clatter, turning into a pile of fragments. There was only one knife handle left in Xue Qian's hand.

I want to cry without tears: Xue Qian, your ancestor's broken knife is not effective, and he was killed by him today.

Xue Qian seemed to suddenly come back to her senses, and said to me angrily: Where are the corpse teeth? I want a corpse tooth.

I stretched out my hand to hold him, and said with some annoyance: When is it, what is the trouble?
