Moggallan used the fateful pass to observe the deeds of the distant catastrophe, which is like a painting. He recounted the history of the Shakya people in great detail, and everyone felt that the Buddha was born in the Shakya people to achieve enlightenment, not without causes.

The Venerable Moggallan is the one who often speaks the Dharma on behalf of the Buddha.

On another occasion, the bhikshus gathered together as if they were holding a symposium, and everyone reported their experiences in studying the Buddha's teachings. Self-purification is the meaning of Buddhism. ’

What are the teachings of the Buddhas? From the simple verses of His Holiness Moggallan, beginners can clearly understand the teachings of Buddhism, and this verse, like Venerable Moggallan, is always remembered by everyone.

There was no one among the Buddha's disciples who could compare with the Venerable Moggallian's supernatural powers, and he thought that there was nothing impossible in using his supernatural powers in everything.

It is true that the use of supernatural powers is convenient for connecting sentient beings, but it is also true that supernatural powers cannot violate the law of cause and effect, cannot overcome karmic retribution, and cannot relieve the troubles of life and death.

Once, the Buddha's homeland of the Acropolis of Kabira, was invaded by the Liuli King of the Samira country, the Buddha was also moved by patriotic enthusiasm at first, wanted to help the motherland, the Buddha sat on the road three times to block the army of the Liuli King, but the Liuli King met the Buddha, although every time he returned to the army, but the hatred of revenge and aggression did not cease, the Buddha knew the principle of karma, should end it, the Buddha did his patriotic heart, only he went.

However, when he heard the news that the army of the King of Liuli had surrounded the Acropolis, he excitedly prayed to the Buddha, 'Buddha! The Acropolis of Kabira has been invaded by the King of Glass, and we should help in order to rescue the people of the city. ’

The Buddha looked at Moggallan for a moment, and then replied in a kind tone, 'Moggallan! The retribution of the sinful karma of the Shakya clan is the feeling of collective karma, and you can't take it for them! They do not repent of their sins and karma, they are arrogant, they do not change their ways, and the houses that have been corrupted will eventually fall! ’

After listening to the Buddha's words, although he knew that this was true, he also thought of his supernatural powers, and he wanted to use them to rescue the people in the city.

King Liuli besieged the Acropolis of Kabira with an army of millions, and the water was impassable, and no one could pass. Only Moggallan can use his supernatural powers to fly into the city.

Moggallan entered the city, found 500 good people among the Shakya, took them into the air, loaded them with a bowl, and flew out of the air.

After leaving the city, when he arrived at the safe zone, Moggallian opened the bowl he was holding in his hand, and wanted to release the five hundred Shakya clan, who knew that if he didn't look at it, he was shocked, and the five hundred people hidden in the bowl turned into blood!

It was only at this time that the Venerable Moggallan fully realized that the Buddha's law of cause and effect cannot be violated, and that even if he had supernatural powers, he could not defeat karma.

Moggallen relied on his supernatural powers to help spread the Dharma, and his achievements were great. But the Buddha has long said that supernatural powers are not the ultimate method, the long-eyebrow Arhat, who was originally the minister of the king of Youchu, named Bintou Luo Boluo, after following the Buddha to become a monk, he got supernatural powers, and once showed off in front of the white clothes, the Buddha reprimanded him very unceremoniously, and ordered him to separate himself from the Sangha and go to the state of Xiquyani alone to indoctricate. Only for the miraculous power of Moggallian, the Buddha not only rebuked him, but often praised it.

The Buddha is not eccentric, the Buddha knows a fact, and uses the supernatural powers of Moggallian to help him to promote and solidify, but the results of Moggallian's use of supernatural powers cannot overcome karmic retribution, and the karma created by individuals is required, even if he has supernatural powers, he will not be immortal. The Buddha wanted to use this fact to teach future generations.

Although Moggallian is gradually approaching the edge of old age, he is becoming more and more energetic like a smooth missionary life. He didn't know that it was because of his zealous preaching of the Buddha's teachings that he was even more jealous. The Outer Dao had nothing to do with the Buddha, but they waited for an opportunity to assassinate Moggallan.

Once, on the way to preach the truth, he passed at the foot of the mountain and was seen by the naked outer path at that time, so they pushed down the rocks from the mountain and tried to kill him, but the rocks fell like raindrops, and the impermanence of the flesh was beaten into meat sauce, but the naked outer ways did not dare to approach the place where he died for two or three days, they were afraid of his supernatural powers.

However, in order to spread the Bodhi seed of the Dharma, Moggallan was persecuted by the foreign path, and in order to set an example for future generations to sacrifice for the Dharma, his physical body really passed away. The blood of Moggallan is not in vain, in order to promote the Dharma and benefit life, how many sages and sages, under the light of the Buddha's mercy, walked in the footsteps of the Venerable Moggallan, sacrificed their lives, sacrificed a qiē, the light of truth, can not be extinguished in the world, this is a great price to pay!

When the news of the assassination of the Venerable Moggallan reached the ears of King Ajata, he was so angry that he ordered the murderer to be arrested, and thousands of naked outer ways were thrown into the pit of fire under the anger of King Ajata!

The execution of the outer path by King Ajashi could not eliminate the sorrow of the bhikshus for the martyrdom of Moggallian, and everyone sighed, they all felt that the things in the world were too unfair, with the great power of Muggallian, why couldn't they avoid the attack of the outer way!

The bhikshus were reluctant, and they gathered to ask the Buddha, and they asked, 'Buddha! The Venerable Moggallan and the Venerable Sariputta, both disciples of the Buddha's Theravada, he was such a great person, the Buddha went to the heavenly palace to teach the Dharma, he was asked by us to visit the Buddha in the heavenly palace; His mother went to hell to suffer for slandering the Three Jewels, and he went to hell to save her. He is such a vigorous Venerable with great supernatural powers, why don't he use supernatural powers to fight against the outer way? At least, why didn't he hide from the plots of the outside world? ’

The Buddha is the realization of the truth of the universe, the world is going to happen a qiē, the Buddha has long known in the sea of great wisdom, the Buddha is not as excited as the bhikshus, the Buddha is very serene to say: 'Moggallian is the first disciple of my disciples, he is not unable to fight against the outer way, but because once when the king of Liuli invaded the kingdom of Kabira, he could not save the people in the city with his supernatural powers, he knew that supernatural powers are no match for karma, ** is impermanent, karma is to be ended, Moggallian in his past life, fishing as a business, I don't know how many lives have died for him. Do not be sad, although Moggallan has passed away, the truth will not be extinguished! ’

'But, Buddha! The bhikkhus who could not let go of it said, 'We finally feel that the murder of His Holiness Moggallan is too miserable!'

Bhikkhus! Don't think like that, the question of life and death is not a problem before the enlightened one. There is life and death, and there is no need to panic and fear death, what matters is whether you are sure of death. Only the Venerable Moggallan is not lost when he dies, and entering Nirvana is truly precious, and only the sacrifice of the Venerable Moggallan in order to promote the Buddha's teachings is infinite beauty! ’

Among the bhikkhus, there were still some people who could not let go, and they sighed and shook their heads, and said to the Buddha with infinite sadness: 'Buddha! We also know that we should have the spirit of sacrifice for the sake of the religion, but it is too early for His Holiness Moggallian to sacrifice now, and there are many projects that need to be led by him. Buddha! Why didn't you tell him earlier about what happened to him, so that he could take precautions? ’

From the questions that these bhikshus asked the Buddha, we can know their excitement about the martyrdom of Moggallen, and we can also know the respect that the bhikshus have for Moggallen, and the Buddha said to everyone in a comforting and encouraging tone: 'Bhikkhus! When Moggallian was martyred, it wasn't that he didn't know how to prevent it, he had great divine powers, and he could defend himself from death, but this was not the ultimate way, and the practitioner should not violate the law of cause and effect. ’

Moreover, Moggallan had long made a vow to dedicate his life to the truth, and now that his wish has been fulfilled, he is very happy to perish, and my disciples will have the spirit of sacrifice and martyrdom of Moggallan, and the Dharma will be even more extensive, bhikkhus! You should follow the example of His Holiness Moggallan! ’

The monks and nuns were very moved when they heard the Buddha's teachings, and when a Moggallan body died, there will be countless Moggallan who willingly and joyfully march forward in the footsteps of martyrs in order to proclaim the truth of the Buddha and for the spread of the holy religion!

We should rejoice in the martyrdom of His Holiness Moggallen!

Hearing so many stories about the Lord of the Wheels, I couldn't help but wonder in my heart. I know that this is the Wheel King's thing that is awakening my consciousness with his eyes and connecting the Venerable, but I feel that I am always a little bit away from what he wants to confess.

Seeing my confused demeanor, the Wheel King said majestically: "King Ming, you were originally a disciple of the Buddha, but it was also because the Buddha moved the heart of the mortal that he accumulated karma and reincarnated in the world. I tell you the story of His Holiness Mujianlian, don't you still understand? Even though the Venerable Mujianlian is one of the Buddha's most important disciples, and he has the first supernatural powers, he is still no match for the karma he has created! ”

The words of the Wheel King surprised me. I said in surprise: "Wheel King, can't the Immortal Buddha change his fate?" ”

The Wheel King shook his head and said, "King Ming, the cultivation of the Immortal Buddha is to eliminate the evil obstacles of the previous life and cultivate the blessings of the next life. The karma of the past life will inevitably be repaid in this life. Although I am a Yama of the Ten Halls of the Yin Division, I am still a nether immortal, and I cannot understand my Buddha's profound thoughts. Jizo Bodhisattva has a life, and let me tell you these stories, just so that you can have some enlightenment, so that you can correct the results. ”
