Chapter 168: Divine Power First

The Wheel King Zhengse said: "King Ming, this is the underworld, why are there obscene words in the world?" Because Fei Fei made mistakes in her life, she saw the face of the king and exempted her from the pain of hell. However, its karmic roots are heavy, and it can be eliminated without the power of the Ming King, so it has to suffer the suffering of reincarnation to be dissolved. ”

I was puzzled and asked, "Wheel King, since the Jizo Bodhisattva ordered you to send Fei Fei lightly, why don't you do a good job to the end, so as to save her from the suffering of the ninth life as a chicken?" ”

The Wheel King said sternly: "King Ming, the underworld is not as good as the officials of the world, but a selfless and just place. Although this king was lightly punished by the decree of the Jizo Bodhisattva, he did not dare to show favoritism. Punishing her for the ninth life as a chicken is already the extra-legal grace of the Jizo Bodhisattva, and it can make this female ghost get rid of the sea of suffering in the shortest time, which is already caused by the great compassion of the Jizo Bodhisattva. ”

"King Ming, although you are a disciple of my Buddhism, you are still an illusory body in the world, and you have not yet found the path of great enlightenment that you realized in your previous life. Did you know that karma cannot be eliminated, even though the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are no exception. Does the King of Ming know the Venerable Eye Key? ”

I nodded and said, "Wheel King, I know a little bit about it, when I was incense in the temple, I saw the statue of an arhat of the Venerable Mujianlian. I don't know what the Wheel King meant by mentioning the Venerable Mu Jian Lian? Please also advise the Wheel King! ”

The Wheel King told me that among the ten disciples of the Buddha, the most outstanding of them was Sariputta, who was known for being the first in wisdom, and there was also a Venerable Mujianlian, who was known as the first in supernatural powers. Sariputta followed the Buddha to become a monk for half a month before he exhausted all the knots and got rid of his troubles, and Moggalla only had seven days to complete the knots and leaks, and he manifested his divine power and attained the divine power of an arhat.

Moggallian, also commonly known as the Venerable Muren. He has a long body, a square face and big ears, and a resolute look on his face, he is very optimistic, very brave, and often fights for justice.

Among the bhikshu disciples of the Buddha, there are many disciples with supernatural powers, and Moggallan is promoted as the first supernatural power, because he often shows supernatural powers in his teachings.

In his past life, he was a fisherman who used to catch fish and shrimp on the beach and sell them, and lived in this way to make a living, and day after day, Tianliang finally discovered that this method of seeking wealth was a great pain. He felt that a person should make merit in this life and in the next, and because of this good thought, he decided to change his karma and make a living.

It didn't take long for him to see a Buddha in the city, and every time he walked on the street, he was very respectful when he saw it. Therefore, he invited this Buddha to his home to offer food. However, although this Buddha is dignified, it is a pity that he is not good at speaking. Only by using supernatural powers to incarnate in the world, no other methods are used. After eating, they leap into the air, left or right, forward or backward, up and down freely. When he saw it, he was overjoyed, and he made a wish for a future life, asking for supernatural powers.

Where there is a will, there is a way, and because of such a cause, the Venerable Moggallan was able to take refuge in the Buddha in this life, and was known as the first supernatural power among the disciples of the Buddha!

The supernatural power of the eyes and ears, the ears can hear the sound, no matter how far or near they can hear; The eye can see things without being hindered by objects; No matter how far you go, it's just a moment; He often showed some supernatural mutations to help the Buddha preach.

On one occasion, the people of the Acropolis held a joint banquet for the ninety-six monks of the monastic religion, accompanied by the king of Bosnian and the prince's courtiers, and the banquet was held in the large square on the other side of the Aja River, and Moggallen was the first to arrive.

After a while, many of the outsiders came to receive the offering, and all of them wanted to arrive first in order to get the first seat, but they could not pass because of the sudden swelling of the river. At this moment, from a distance, he saw the Buddha leading his disciples to walk majestically and serenely, and he immediately turned into a treasure bridge on the top of the river, and decorated it with fragrant flowers and satin, all kinds of seven treasures, waiting for the Buddha to walk over it.

When the Buddha's holy chariot had not yet come, those outsiders saw this piece of ** water, and they were all thinking in their hearts: 'Today the river is suddenly rising, we can't cross the river to make offerings, and when the Buddha and his disciples come, what can we do?' ’

While they were thinking this, the bridge that they had transformed into a bridge appeared on the river, and when they saw it, they were very happy, and immediately they vied with each other and said, 'The sand gate is late, and the providence of heaven has built a bridge for us to pass first, and we should sit as the guests of honor at the banquet, and we should sit in the chief seat.' ’

After all the outsiders spoke, they all rushed to walk across the bridge and walked to the center of the bridge, when suddenly there was a loud noise, the bridge broke, and everyone fell into the water, and a cry for help shook the field.

When the Buddha arrived, the bridge was still restored as usual, the Buddha and the monks walked on the bridge, and when they saw the outer paths under the bridge struggling in the water, they were compassionate, and immediately used the power of supernatural powers to rescue the outer paths from the water one by one, and asked the outer paths to follow them, and then they walked peacefully, and then the treasure bridge disappeared.

When the Buddha and his disciples were making offerings, everyone squatted towards the sun because their clothes were wet, hoping to dry their clothes quickly.

This public feast jointly offered by the Acropolis made all the foreign Taoists feel that their faint light is not comparable to that of the Buddha and his disciples, who are like the light of the sun and the moon.

On one occasion, when the Buddha was living in the Garden of Solitude in the Acropolis, Moggallam and Sariputta were instructed by the Buddha to lead the bhikshus and enlighten the society in the Bamboo Garden of Kalanda in the Acropolis, and they lived together in a meditation room.

The night was quiet, there was no sound on the earth, and there was a light in the meditation room, reflecting the light of the bright moon.

The first night passed, the middle night passed, and at the end of the night, Sariputta broke the silence and said to Moggallan, 'Venerable Moggallan! Forgive me for the abruptness of my questioning, but are you living in silence again tonight? ’

'Why are you asking me that?' Moggallen asked softly.

'Venerable Moggallan! Because I couldn't hear your panting for a long time, you didn't move, and it was as if there was no one in the room. Sariputta explained.

'Venerable Sariputta! Tonight, I remembered a problem of diligence in my practice, and I went to ask the Buddha for guidance. Just now you thought that I was silent, that I was talking to the Buddha. ’

'Venerable Moggallan! What you said is really hard for people to understand, the Buddha is now living in the garden of solitude in the north, and we are living in the south in the garden of the Bamboo Garden, the distance between the two places is very far, how can you speak with the Buddha? Have you ever used your divine feet to go to the Buddha's seat? Or did the Buddha come here with a divine foot? ’

'No, it's not like that! Moggallan replied, 'I did not go to the Buddha's throne with my divine feet, and the Buddha did not come to us with my divine feet.' ’

'Then, His Holiness Moggallan! How exactly can you speak with the Buddha? ’

'Venerable Sariputta! There's nothing strange about this, the Buddha has the Heavenly Eyes and the Heavenly Ears, and you have already attained these magical powers, so as long as we use them, we can speak with the Buddha anytime and anywhere. ’

It's not that Sariputta doesn't know, but he has always liked to live with people with humility.

When Moggallan spoke, Sariputta was overjoyed and immediately exclaimed, 'Venerable Moggallan! You have great magical powers, great merit, and I feel the supreme honor to be able to learn from you together. You are like a towering mountain, and if someone throws this pebble of mine beside you and sits with you, it is a rare cause, and if someone in the world travels with you and respectfully makes offerings, he will surely gain great benefits. ’

After hearing this, His Holiness Moggallan smiled and said, 'Venerable Sariputta! I am also very honored to sit with your wise and virtuous elders today, just as I have thrown a small stone into a mountain, and I have gained great stability. ’

Sariputta and Moggallan are old classmates and friends, they respect each other, praise each other, and from beginning to end, Taoism and friendship are too ordinary.

Speaking of his old friend Sariputta, he not only has great intelligence, but also great supernatural powers, when he first came to the Acropolis to supervise the construction of the Gion Monastery, he once showed the leader of the outer way, Lao Ducha, eighteen supernatural powers, and won the final victory. Therefore, the influence that Sariputta left on the people of the Acropolis is also a Venerable with great wisdom and supernatural powers.

Once, on the fifteenth day of the month, the Buddha was preaching ordination to the bhikshus at the Ananda Pond, and when there was no Sariputta in the seat, the Buddha said to Moggallan, 'Moggallan! If you go to the Acropolis and invite Sariputta, you will say that I meant it. ’

When he arrived at the Sariputta, he said, 'Venerable Sariputta! The Buddha called me to invite you to the place where you said the vows by the pond of Anutda. ’

When Sariputta heard this, he replied with a kind face, 'Venerable Moggalla! Thank you for conveying the Buddha's will to me, and we'll go right away, but now I'm going to play a game with you. ’

'What game?' Moggallan looked at Sariputta with suspicion.

'Venerable Moggallan! You are an elder with great magical powers, and here is a cloth belt, I hope you will make it into a Yanfuti tree! ’

When Sariputta had spoken, he put down the belt of his garment, and Moggallan took it with his hand, but he could not move, so he used his supernatural powers and lifted it as best he could. Sariputta hurriedly wrapped his belt around Mount Meru, and Moggallan quickly lifted Mount Meru; Sariputta then wrapped his belt around the Buddha's Leo seat, and Moggalla could not move even after exerting all his divine powers.

Sariputta smiled and said to Moggallan, 'Venerable Moggallan! What we have learned and what we have proved is really different from that of the Buddha who is omnipotent. Even if our divine power can shake Sumeru and shake the heavens and the earth, the Buddha's throne cannot be shaken in the slightest. I'm skeptical about my supernatural powers, so I'm asking you to give it a try. Now let's hurry up and meet the Buddha, you go first, and I'll come later. ’

Moggallan admired Sariputta's words, and after nodding his head, he used his divine feet to come to the pond of Anutda, and when he arrived, he saw Sariputta sitting beside the Buddha on his knees, and after he bowed to the Buddha, he asked with suspicion, 'Buddha! Am I losing my powers? When I came back from the Gion Ashram, I was walking before Venerable Sariputta, so why did he come before me? The Buddha often said that I am the first supernatural power, and I want to call this title the Venerable Sariputta. ’
