Chapter 5: Clams
Chapter 5 Clams
My current location is a rocky reef in front of me, which is not too small. Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info and this kind of place often hides something else. Although these things are small, they like to live in groups. The numerical advantage more than compensates for their smaller size.
I mean, of course, when they're being used as food to fill their stomachs.
Clam. A...... I guess it's a scallop marine creature. I don't remember this very well. But that doesn't stop me from treating them like dinner. And this kind of thing likes to be attached to the rocky reef in patches. For a person, it takes only a long hand to break them off the rocky reef. And it's often a big chunk.
However, it is important to note that there is often another danger lurking near the rocky reef. For example, one of the jellyfish I just saw. If I remember correctly, the name of this jellyfish is supposed to be jellyfish.
This kind of thing can be eaten honestly, but it can be eaten. However, it is much more difficult to eat than the large clams in front of you that are attached to the rocky reef. And jellyfish like this one seem to be carried by the ocean currents to the shallow waters. Jellyfish have many suction cups on their tentacles. Although it is not fatal to be stung by this jellyfish, it will inevitably hurt the stung area for a while. So, with plenty of food, I'm not going to alarm it. Just let it float here.
After breaking off a few palm-sized clams on the rocky reef, I was back to shore without incident.
But when I got back to shore, I realized that something was wrong.
Clams need to be cooked in a pot. But I don't have a container for it right now.
It's awkward.
Thankfully, there's no shortage of coconut trees along this coastline. And with coconut, I'm sure it's easy to figure out the shape of a bowl.
After nearly two hours of dark, I finally got most of the things done. The shelter has been set up and the fire has been lit. On top of that, the clams are also already boiled in coconut shells. And I still use coconut water with a faint coconut fragrance - I hope the clams and coconut water will not get food poisoning if they eat it together.
The rest of the bits and pieces of work are just to improve the shelter. And I found that after my day's journey, I seemed to have come to the other side of the island. The sea breeze on this side is still very strong. The windbreak I had put in place would probably not be able to withstand the ravages of the sea breeze this night.
If the sea breeze destroys my defenses, then I will face the sea breeze head-on. That's not what I wanted. Not only does the sand blown by the sea breeze hurt me, but the sea breeze also accelerates the loss of my body fluids. Even with the support of coconut water, I don't want to go on like this.
The aroma of coconut water grows stronger as the campfire burns. And the clams inside are also constantly tumbling under the drive of coconut water.
The capacity of coconut shells is limited, and I can only cook the clams in three parts. And there is a benefit to doing so. That is to prevent food poisoning.
There are many varieties of clams in the world. Even though most clams are edible, I don't want to take that risk. Because I'm the only one now. If I accidentally fall, plus the place is inaccessible. The sea breeze could easily into a dehydrated corpse.
Rather than being squeezed dry by the sea breeze, I would rather be squeezed dry by a woman. Agree, please like, thank you.
Of course, freshly cooked clams and coconut water can't be drunk directly. It contains a lot of sand. Unless I was already hungry to the point of madness, I still chose the civilized way of eating in this sensible state - filtering.
To survive in the wild, survivors need to make the most of whatever tools they can find, or whatever tools they have.
All I have now is a pair of pajamas and a pair of pajama pants.
Either way, they each have two long tubes. And this tube can be used as a temporary filtering tool.
Take pajamas, for example. Tie the cuffs of one of the sleeves of the pajamas. This is used to hold clams. And after a while, I'll pour a whole bowl of clams into the other mouth.
I don't need to say more about the principle of filtration. Normal people should be able to imagine it.
Of course, if you have socks, you can also use them to filter. Provided you don't dislike your feet.
Just kidding, it's all your own flesh. Why dislike it.
The filtered coconut water, in addition to the nutrients of the coconut water itself, also contains the most essential part of the clams. Big supplement.
Oh yes, I suddenly remembered one. Before filtration, if there is carbon, you can actually knead some fine carbon and put it in. I don't think I need to say much about the adsorption capacity of carbon. And there's something like carbon, I'll talk about it later. After all, this is a very useful thing, and it has to be used to the best of it.
Took a sip of coconut water clam soup.
It feels good. But I only took a small sip. It's not the same as the lobster you eat at noon. Lobster: I've made sure it's not harmful to me after using it. But I can't be sure about this kind of clam for the time being. So you have to come carefully.
After taking a small sip, set the bowl aside. Untie the knots in the cuffs and take the clams out along with the sand.
Although the soup is essence, it is still liquid. No matter how awesome the essence is, after three or four hours of absorption and filtration by the body, it is not a bubble of organic fertilizer. The thing that really fills you up has to be the filtered clam meat.
I've seen some reports from abroad. Clam meat can actually be eaten raw. Because they themselves are seventy or eighty percent water.
But I wasn't going to do that. First of all, I'm not sure if the clams in front of me contain parasites. This is only the most important point. If you eat some unknown food while working in the field, it is very likely that you will eat the parasites on it along with it. And the consequences of eating parasites don't need to be said more than I need.
Therefore, it is more reliable after high-temperature sterilization. And besides, it's not like I don't have the ability to make fire. I don't have to eat it raw.
For half an hour after drinking the coconut water clam bisque, I didn't feel any discomfort.
Except for being a little sleepy.
So now I'm sure this bowl of coconut clam bisque is safe to eat.
Then I have to use the same method, using my own body to test it. See if the flesh of these clams is poisonous.
This may seem like a bit of a superfluous. But I have to state one thing. That is, puffer fish can be eaten, but there are not a few people who die on puffer fish eggs every year.
This sentence must be understood by everyone. Therefore, it is better to be careful in everything.
