Chapter 11 Crossing the River

Chapter 11: Crossing the River

Last time, I was approaching evening when I spotted a large number of wild boars around my makeshift shelter. Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info

It's a very exciting thing.

But you think I'm going to meet me now with a knife in my hand?

They're a big meal in my eyes, rightly so. But in their eyes, it's not necessarily a dish.

Judging from the size of the number of wild boars on the other side, it is estimated that it should also be a group. In the face of such a large number of wild boar herds, they dragged their families to hunt.

The next thing I'm going to show you is how to swim across the river with a single bamboo.

Do you want me to be front-to-head? Joke.

I'm single-handedly picking them up...... Pig?

If this is spread out, Lao Tzu used to go head-to-head with a group of pigs and lose. Where the hell is this face?

Win?

Do you think the wild boar will preach the morality of the rivers and lakes and send a bully of the pigs to come and fight with me?

What an international joke. Buddy, I'm going to show you how to escape with a bamboo pole on my shoulder......

Crossing.

It's called a strategic retreat.

A clear question. That is, this group of pigs does not swim. They watched me jump into the river with a bamboo on my shoulder, but they were helpless.

(Lao Tzu has a hundred ways to cross this river, but you are helpless.) )

Well, without further ado. Crossing.

Once you've successfully crossed the other side, don't let your guard down easily. Who knows if there will be a herd of wild boars living on this side of the drink?

Sometimes when you think you've escaped from the jaws and you're secretly glad, there's a good chance you've entered the territory of a more dangerous creature.

Although I have not yet found any large, menacing beasts on the banks of the river on this side. But that doesn't mean it's safe at night.

Now that it's getting dark, I don't have time to build shelter anymore.

Believe me, coming out at night in an unfamiliar environment is definitely a very dangerous option.

Standing on the other side of the river, looking at my shelter across a small river more than ten meters wide. Suddenly, there was a feeling that the tiger was falling into Pingyang.

I usually eat pork and beef at home, but now I was forced to jump into the river by a group of pigs. This feeling......

It's literal.

I sat by the river for a few minutes, and my reason told me that I couldn't stay by the river any longer.

It was my fault when the shelter was built yesterday. I only thought that it might be easier to be closer to the water source. But I didn't expect that the animals in the forest also need to drink water. As I approached the river, I approached danger in disguise.

Thankfully, nothing happened last night.

But even so, I don't plan on gambling on my luck for another night tonight. I can't afford to lose this kind of bet.

But the question now is whether I have a shelter without dinner. Tonight's rest is very problematic. If you don't eat, use your foraging time to find a place to build shelter, and you may be able to get it together when it's completely dark. But if I do, my body will be weakened because I can't provide energy. If you run into a herd of wild boars here, you'll be dead.

But if I give up building a shelter and start making food by burning a fire now. Naturally, it is able to eat enough. When the body has energy, it will be able to keep out the cold at night. But then I can't sleep. This is not good for the first time, and if something happens again tomorrow, I still can't deal with it.

After a brief weighing of the pros and cons, I decided to find a place to build a shelter.

I feel more uncomfortable not sleeping all night than if I don't eat all night. Besides, when the human body has no excess energy to expend, it automatically consumes its own fat to provide energy.

My bucket-like waist, it's time for you to sacrifice yourself.

Burn, little belly!

Before it was completely dark, I made a few simple torches. Due to the lack of time, this kind of torch is as simple as a burning stick. It's just that when burning, the brightness of the lighting is higher than that of a pure firewood.

This time, I chose to build the shelter deep in the forest, away from the river.

This is a very dangerous practice. Entering an unfamiliar territory without adequate lighting would have caused me to die if I had run into something. That's why it's not recommended.

Of course, due to the pressure of the environment, I still chose to enter.

I've seen a way to defend myself in some wilderness survival training books. That's shouting loudly. Use loud noises to scare away the surrounding creatures.

I will not judge right and wrong here. But what I want to say is, if you are walking down the street and suddenly you hear someone behind you shouting, "***** will you look back?" Would you be curious to walk over and see what was going on?

.

The shelter was still in the trees. This is the easiest way to set it up. It's as simple as getting some leaves to spread on and make sure you don't fall off.

It was a torturous night.

Because I didn't finish eating, I was so hungry.

Of course, another reason is that I have to be on the lookout for what's going on around me all the time. As soon as there is a stir, I can immediately turn over and count and escape.

I don't know if I'll be able to escape, though. But running away is, after all, the instinct of all living beings.

But fortunately, I was scared for a night, and I didn't have any real threat to my life.

Except for mosquitoes.

Finally, if mosquitoes could disappear from this world, I would rather let my roommates live five years less.

Decade. Couldn't be more.

But then again. My roommates should have finished their defenses by now. It's been a month, and those grandchildren should have found jobs.

I don't know if they found out that their grandfather and I were missing, I don't know if they called the police, and I don't know if they posted a small advertisement on the street to make a missing person notice. I don't know......

Forget it, these grandchildren......

It would be nice if these grandchildren could help me finish the rest of the paper and turn it in for me. God knows what they're doing now.

------

Not much nonsense. After a night of being ravaged by mosquitoes, I managed to survive.

A new day.

It also meant that I was a little closer to the highest mountain on the island.

And according to the distance by sight, I should be less than twenty kilometers away from the foot of the mountain in a straight line. Remove the obstacles on the way, and I believe that it will take about half a month to get there.

When I got to the mountain, I could determine the outline of the island. By then, I should be able to find some way out of the island.
