The sound of the propeller was loud in the calm sea at night, and in the midst of this loud noise, I drove the yacht deep into the sea fog and explored in the fog.
Driving a boat is obviously much simpler than returning the car. On the LCD screen on my right hand side is an electronic chart with a sparkle representing where the yacht is located and where it is traveling. I even found an autopilot feature that I just had to turn on and the electronic chart would show me a route back to the dock, which gave me a lot of peace of mind.
I drove due south for about ten minutes, and the fog on the sea became heavier and heavier, and the moon that was still hanging overhead gradually faded, and the whole sea became dark.
Ever since I contracted vampire disease, my eyes have developed a certain degree of adaptability to the night, but that doesn't mean I can see everything in a completely dark environment, let alone patches of fog. I turned on the searchlight on the yacht, and a bright light hit the front of the boat, piercing the fog as well.
There was still a vast sea ahead, and there was nothing.
I made my way through the fog for a moment, and the monotonous sound of the propellers was suddenly mixed with the faint creaking of wooden planks.
It's a faint voice, but it's extraordinary! I quickly turned off the engine and listened quietly to everything on the sea.
Squeak~squeak~ The sound of the plank came very rhythmically from my left front, and it was getting closer and closer - it seemed that a wooden boat was approaching me.
I quickly grabbed the small searchlight that I had with me and ran to the bow deck, and then shone the light in the direction where the creaking sound came from.
In the sea fog, there was indeed a large, vague creature slowly drifting towards me. Judging by the shape, it should be a boat, slightly larger than the yacht I was on, but not much bigger, and judging by the sound, it should still be a wooden boat.
Who would cross the sea in a wooden boat?
I asked myself mentally as I continued to turn the light on what appeared to be a wooden boat, and shouted, "Hey~~ Is anyone over there?" ”
The response to me is still a string of "squeaks".
After two minutes of waiting, the dark shadow finally passed through the fog to reveal its full view before my eyes, and it completely extinguished the little hope I had just kindled.
It was indeed a wooden boat, or one of those very old wooden boats with huge wooden oars. But the ship was broken, half of the hull was broken as if it had been bombarded by artillery, and the sails had become jagged rags, which had no power at all, and could only be gently swayed by the slight sea breeze.
"Is there anyone on board? Feed!!! ”
I shouted again at the big broken wooden boat.
Still no one answered.
My yacht was not anchored, and the wooden boat formed a slight sea as it approached me, which also pushed the yacht aside to make way for the sea. And as the wooden ship passed in front of me, I suddenly noticed a black pennant on the mainsail in the middle of the hull, which looked like a pirate flag, although it did not have a skull emblem on it.
Could it be that this is a pirate ship? Is this Bermuda?
This mysterious and terrifying place popped up in my head.
But this is not possible, Bermuda is on the Atlantic side of North America, unless I sleep not just for a few hours, but for months at a time. In order to confirm the current date, I also took my phone to check, it is January 2014, and my time has not been stolen.
After the wooden boat slowly drifted past me, I returned to the wheelhouse, turned the bow due south again, and continued to drive slowly into the sea fog.
It didn't take long for a huge black shadow to appear on the sea, this time much higher than the wooden ship just now, and it felt like a giant standing in the middle of the sea. I slowly drove the boat over and saw that it was also a ship, but it had broken off from the center, and the bow of the ship was standing on a large reef.
I went to the deck again and looked around with my searchlight.
There is a reef jutting out of the sea every few tens of meters in this area, and the water around the reef is moving very slowly, and there are many wrecks such as ship planks floating on it. If I had to find one word to describe this place, I think it would probably be "Funazuka".
The engine had been turned off by me, and the sea was silent, and just as I was concentrating on the hull debris in the reef, a faint rattling sound of the sea entered my ears.
Was it caused by the sea hitting the reef? Wrong!
I quickly dismissed my idea. The water around the reef is very calm and doesn't make a sea sound, and the sounds I hear are very rhythmic and regular, which obviously indicates that there is land around and it is not too far away from me!
I quickly closed my eyes and used my ears to catch the sound of Hailang. Hailang's voice seemed to become louder and clearer as I concentrated, and I quickly found the direction Hailang was coming from, and then returned to the cab to determine the specific direction of Hailang's location through the LCD screen.
The sound was about seventeen degrees west of the ship, there should be land there, and there were a lot of reefs in front of it, so I was not sure if the yacht would run aground.
I hesitated on board.
There is no doubt that there must be land in the southwest, but I am not sure if I should go there and see it, and whether it is necessary to do so.
And just as I was hesitating, suddenly someone's shout came from the direction of Hailang.
I didn't quite understand what was being shouted, but it seemed to be a woman's voice, as if it was a cry for help.
I hurried back to the bow deck and shouted in the direction of the woman's voice with my searchlight, "Is there anyone?" Who's over there?!!! ”
"Ah!! Yes~~~~!!!! ”
I was thrilled to finally get my shouts answered. In addition, the sound is very familiar.
"Xiao Guo ?!!!" I shouted again.
"Ah!! I'm Xiao Guo!! Is it thunder~~~? ”
This answer made me even more excited, and at the same time reassured me that I had finally found someone, and I could figure out what was going on in no time.
"Wait a minute!! I'll go right over! ”
"Haode, watch out for the reef !!" Xiao Guo shouted loudly.
I didn't need a reminder from her, I knew exactly what I should do.
I kept the bow searchlight on, lowered the anchor again, and found the inflatable kayak that was sitting close to the side of the boat. After the automatic inflation was complete, I threw the kayak into the water, and then I jumped onto the kayak and rowed in the direction where Xiao Guo's voice came from.
Rowing isn't my forte, but I can control the direction.
It didn't take long for me to pass through the sea fog in front of me, and a huge black mountain came into view. As I got closer to the shore, Hai Lang's voice became louder and louder, and Xiao Guo's shouting became louder.
"Thunder! This way! Can you see me?!! Thunder ......"
Xiao Guoren was already standing in the sea, and jumping while shouting, I could see her every movement clearly, after all, she was the only thing that could move in front of me except water.
"See! No need to shout! ”
I answered, and then slammed my arms up to speed.
When he was about to reach the shore, Xiao Guo couldn't wait to run to the kayak, then pressed his upper body directly on the kayak, and then turned over and lay down in the kayak, panting heavily.
She looked terrible, not only was she soaking wet, but her face was dirty, as if she had stuck her head in the mud.
"What's wrong with you? What's wrong? What about the others? "I put all my doubts out in one go.
Xiao Guo closed his eyes and waved at me and said, "I'll tell you later, you drove the yacht over?" ”
"Hmm."
"Then let's go back to the boat first, we have to go and call for help!"
"Good!"
I didn't ask what was going on, and it was clear that there was something more important than figuring everything out - Qiao Wei: they must be in trouble.
I hurriedly rowed in the opposite direction and moved towards the yacht marked by the light of the searchlight.
Suddenly, the searchlight moved, and it moved very hard! I'm sure I'm the only one on the yacht, and I've lowered the anchor and I'm sure it's secured, there's no reason the searchlights are shaking so hard!
I quickly picked up the speed of the row, but my eyes were straight when I got closer to the yacht through the fog again!
The yacht was broken in two and was slowly sinking, and the searchlight was like a pendulum tethered to a cable and swinging from side to side in the sinking bow.
"What the fuck is going on?!!!" I exclaimed.
Xiao Guo's eyes widened like me and she was stunned in the kayak, and it took a long time for her to say, "It's over, we're trapped here!" ”
