Volume 2 Xia He Chapter 13 Mr. Wu Temple (3)
Mr. Wu Temple is an ancient temple that was built in the middle of the Ming Dynasty and has been hundreds of years ago. The Bodhisattva enshrined in the temple of the pen & fun & pavilion www.biquge.info is Mr. Wu, also known as Wu Dao Bodhisattva. According to the older generation, Mr. Wu's name is Wu Dao, who was originally a showman, and after repeated attempts to become a teacher in the Liu ancestral hall, he was enlightened by the gods by chance, and learned a skill, which can call the wind and rain, and scatter beans into soldiers.
In the summer and autumn of one year, when the crops in the fields were about to die, the neighbors burned incense to worship the Buddha and invited the dragon king, praying for rain and relief. He deeply felt that the peasants were living a difficult life, took pity on the villagers, and begged for rain one by one.
It was noon in the scorching sun, and he took the stage to do so, and suddenly dark clouds rolled, lightning and thunder roared, and heavy rain poured down, and then turned into light rain, which continued until it was dark, relieved the drought, saved the crops, and saved the neighboring peasants. But this rain only covered a radius of thirty miles, and not even a single rain star could be seen beyond thirty miles.
When there was a great drought, in addition to the area of the three-arch bridge, the peasants had no harvest, starvation was innumerable, some people gathered in the roaring mountains and forests, and hundreds of thousands of people came to the town to grab grain, Mr. Wu Dao sat alone on the three-arch stone bridge, practiced magic, scattered beans into soldiers, and forced back the thieves and farmers who robbed grain without hurting people's lives, and kept a town safe. Unfortunately, he died shortly thereafter, and some say that he descended from heaven and was called to heaven.
The beneficiary villagers remembered his merits, and one of his students came forward to raise funds to build the temple with bluestone, named Mr. Wu Temple, molded his golden body, offered incense, and prayed for it to protect the neighbors. It is said that there are many saints, especially in times of drought to ask for rain, every time the magic is incomparable, even dozens of miles away there have been people to carry his golden body to ask for rain.
Since Mr. Wu's temple incense was prosperous, the temple expanded again and again, from the first one to three, three to five, and there is now a scale of seven or eight stone chambers. And from the beginning of no one to take care of it, later there is a full-time temple to take care of it.
After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, there was a lot of civil strife, the people were struggling to make a living, and the incense in the temples was becoming scarce. Later, the Japanese invaders raged, and internal and external troubles made the situation worse. In 1945, when they went to Japan, the devil soldiers killed people and set fires all the way, and most of the villagers and neighbors hid in the mountains in advance, and only a few old and weak people remained at home. The devil stayed in the town for two days and killed several old people who had not left. However, it is said that the devil soldiers did not please well, and more than a dozen people disappeared in two days, and a fire almost burned the town down when they left.
After the devil left, the old temple Zhu locked the temple door, claiming that the plague god had broken into the temple, which was not good for the neighbors, and he had to close the temple door to do things to make it happen. A few days later, he found a few good believers and old friends in the town, asked everyone to help, after his death, he was buried in the coffin, the coffin was placed in the temple hall without burial, the main hall of the temple door can not be opened, otherwise the town will suffer a miracle, must not be playful, after the confession he died suddenly.
Several people followed his will to put him into the funeral hall, and specially cast a large copper lock to block the door of the main hall. At that time, the villagers were very superstitious, and no one dared to smash open the temple door when they were full.
In 49 years, Guangxi Liangzi (referring to Bai Zhengxi's troops) passed by the three-arch bridge when he was defeated and retreated from the "Hengbao Battle" (note), it was already dark and night, and more than a dozen defeated soldiers and Liangzi ran to the ancient temple for some reason and smashed the gate. The next day, after the defeated soldiers ransacked the town and left, they shouted outside the temple, and when someone went to look, they found that there were more than a dozen corpses of defeated soldiers lying on the ground of the main hall of the temple with the open gate.
Everyone was frightened, fearing that the defeated soldiers would turn back and look for someone, so they hurriedly dragged the dead body into the depression behind the temple and buried it, and locked the temple door again.
This lock has never been opened since then, and it has been more than 20 years.
Because of this lock, the ancient temple became a deserted temple. Breaking the four olds, someone wanted to smash the door lock and enter the temple to destroy the Bodhisattva, but was met with strong resistance from picking up, he was crazy and desperate with the group of young people, although he was beaten all over the body, the gang did not please him, and he kicked and bit several wounds.
More than a dozen people besieged and beat a haba boy, and the onlookers who came to see the excitement couldn't see it, and they all blew up (fried gas, local dialect, holding grievances and angry), one person choked the crowd, and the group of young people who were angry with the crowd walked away. Everyone talked about the fact that people like Haba Lai admit that the deserted temple is his home, and whoever destroys him will be desperate. Some people even suspect that the dozen or so defeated soldiers in Guangxi were killed by him.
“…… Since then, no one has tried to open the temple door, and the deserted temple has escaped the fate of being smashed...... But these are legends, and they may not be the case. For example, you say that Mr. Wu, who was deified as a bodhisattva, maybe he is just a strange person who knows astronomical astrology and has unique skills, and the old temple Zhu who adopted and picked up Lai, some people say that he deliberately made people use a trick, and the coffin has already been buried, saying that it is scary in the temple of stopping the soul, the purpose is to protect the pick-up and let him have a place to live......"
My mother told me eloquently, and I could hear it. She stopped for a long time with a dry mouth, and when she saw that I was still pondering and silent, she asked me a little suspiciously:
"You don't want to go to the temple for something, do you?"
"What are you doing in the temple? It's not a fun place, even if I'm full of food, I won't go to ......."
I flatly deny it. After a few words of gossip, he used the excuse that he was going to the backyard to practice, and slipped out after saying hello.
This deserted temple is really not simple, I thought all the way. Back in the backyard house, I put on my heart talisman and carried a pig-killing knife, and quietly slipped out of the back door of the campus and climbed the Lion Rock.
I'm going to go down from the hill to see if I can get into the temple from behind.
The moon and stars are bright, and the mountains and rivers are silent. I went down the slope and soon reached the back of the temple.
There is no door in the stone wall behind the temple, only a small door on the left and right sides, but they are all closed. It seems that the main hall can only be entered through the main gate.
When I searched for Rhubarb and Rhubarb, I was always in front of the Deserted Temple, and I knew that I lived in a hut next to the side hall on the left. He quietly walked around.
The door of the hut was wide open, and there was a slight snoring, and I looked over to see a sleeping body on the grass, presumably asleep.
I walked around the door and onwards, the yellow thatch and the wild artemisia making a soft "shivering" sound. Turn the corner of the house, and you will come to the grass in front of the temple.
The temple door was closed again, but there was no copper lock hanging on it. I went up the steps, reached out and pushed the door open a crack, and dodged inside.
The rancid stench mixed with an indescribable smell was eerie. I held my breath and opened my eyes wide. The statue of the god in the back wall was flanked by a complete stone wall, and the small door through which we had entered and exited in the evening was missing. The side doors leading to the side halls on both sides were also closed.
It turned out to be a mechanism? Although I had long expected that this deserted temple would not be simple, I was inevitably a little surprised. I came here with some skills, thinking that I was not afraid of ghosts, but after all, I hadn't gone through anything, and at this moment, and then there was no way, I didn't know what to do.
I adjusted my breathing, forced myself to calm down, and slowly cleared my thoughts: Who opened the temple gate and introduced the Yujiao people in the three districts of Hu and Han into the temple? What does he want to do? And now who closes the gates and institutions? Are they one person, two people, or a group of people?
I stood in the main hall, staring at the clay statue of Mr. Wu in the middle and pondering.
The hall was actually dark, only the slightly open door and a few bright tiles on the roof let in a faint amount of moonlight, if it was an ordinary person, then it would definitely be impossible to see everything inside, at most only a vague outline. Fortunately, I have a pair of sharp eyes, and I can see things at night, although I am not as clear as in the white day, I can still see clearly.
I felt movement behind me, and when I looked back, I saw that the door I had just pushed open and entered had closed silently.
This surprised me again, and I hurriedly pulled out the pig-killing knife and held it in my hand, nervously watching everything around me. The silence in the hall was so quiet that I could hear my breath, and even the "thumping" sound of my own little heart seemed to be in my ears.
A subtle "rolling" sound vibrated the eardrums, and the life-size statue of Mr. Wu seemed to be trembling, the big dark eyes covered with dust were alive, and the statues and monsters painted and carved on the walls on both sides also seemed to be surging. I calmed down, silently recited the mantra of purifying my heart, closed my eyes slightly, and stopped looking around.
It only took a moment for me to catch the source of the sound, and I slowly opened my eyes, and when I looked closely, it was the small statue next to the statue of Mr. Wu that was slowly turning, and then a small door appeared on the back wall. It's the little door I went in and out in the evening.
This ancient temple is really weird, eerie and mysterious. Just this scene of the illusion that disturbed people's minds, I estimate that if a timid person encounters it, he will be scared half to death if he is not confused and lost. I regret my hasty intrusion.
But it was just a momentary thought in the depths of my heart, and I was suppressed as soon as I came up. I have to be strong when I am young, I never admit defeat, I didn't understand anything before last year, our five-person team was headed by me, Huang Shiren was two or three years older than me, and they didn't dare to fight with me if they really had something, and now I am far from yesterday, how can I retreat? How about the eerie horror? What about phantom illusions? What about trap traps? If you come here, you will be safe, even if it is really Longtan Tiger's Den, I will break through.
I originally came for this weirdness and the coffin in the stone room behind it, and I had already seen it once in the evening, but it was nothing more than soldiers coming to block it, and water came to cover it, but in fact, there was nothing particularly terrible.
I'm determined not to care so much, I'm going to talk about it first. So he took a deep breath, tightened his grip on the pig-killing knife, stepped into the small door, entered the passage, and walked towards the stone room inside.
