Chapter 2: Camp

I have seen the treatment of expatriates in the company's expatriate documents, and the salary of expatriates is indeed much better than in China, but when my supervisor approached me, I still seemed quite puzzled, why me?

The supervisor told me: "The company did not go to Peru to carry out business work, but was invited by an outdoor adventure team, and our company personnel will be responsible for the maintenance of special equipment in the camp during this team adventure, and the company needs a civilian with some pen skills and can write a service log, and I have seen that you have a good work attitude in the past few months, so I recommended you to the management." Pen ~ Fun ~ Pavilion www.biquge.info"

In the past three months, I haven't had much contact with the department head, this is my second job, and I believe what the head says. Later, when I followed the team on a long flight journey, I realized that this job originally belonged to our supervisor, a guy in his thirties, who was not happy when he received the assignment.

First, the supervisor is newly married and reluctant to travel far, and secondly, I heard that the Ocean Adventurer Company has such an expatriate team every few months, but there are very few people who can return to China safely. I heard about the expatriate team at the send-off banquet and I thought it was a joke, but when I actually set foot on the soil of South America, I realized that it was all true, and there are huge risks and amazing benefits in this expatriate mission!

At the beginning of November, I got a visa to Peru, but it only allowed me to stay in Peru for a short time at most, and I didn't pay attention to it at the time, and if I had been a little wary at that time, maybe I wouldn't have been involved in the turmoil, and it's probably still a 9-to-5 guy who stays at home and plays games every weekend.

The trip to Peru was a very long journey, and my colleagues and I gathered at Pudong International Airport that day, our team leader, a middle-aged man in his 40s, heard that he would receive an additional 200,000 yuan per year on top of his original annual salary. As an executive of a top multinational company, this guy's original annual salary is already very high, and adding 200,000 yuan is a bit jaw-dropping.

A high salary often means high risk, but I really didn't understand it at that time, after all, hundreds of thousands of yuan in Pudong are not enough for a down payment to buy a house. What excites me the most is that during the expatriate period, my monthly salary will reach 13,000 yuan, and after 24 months, I will get 312,000 yuan. That's a lot I never dared to imagine.

This time, there were 8 people on assignment from the company, and as the writer of the service log, I was stopped from all my work during the month of applying for the visa, and then I started to learn the so-called journal writing. According to the company's requirements, I had to learn to quickly and accurately record the various parameter factors of each piece of equipment sold by the company, and upload them to the company's global servers in the form of a log.

My job is mainly to work with senior engineers to record content, but it is not that difficult, but in about a week or so, I have learned to use various acquisition equipment and recorders, which is quite rewarding.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, traditional manufacturing companies have begun to sell services in addition to selling products, and it is said that this time, the Adventurer team that went to Peru ordered a total of more than 383 million US dollars worth of products from the company, and at the same time signed a two-year after-sales service contract with Ocean Adventurer, so we have this team.

It may be a lot of money, but when you think about it, it's just the contract value of a few top stars, and it's a lot cheaper than what I later thought the adventurer was really worth.

Half of our salary is said to come from financial support from a team of adventurers, which makes one wonder what kind of team can sustain the extra eight people with an annual expenditure of nearly a million. This bothered me for a while, until I learned unexpectedly about the explorers' goals that I realized that millions of dollars in cash were nothing to some of the world's top adventurer teams.

In addition to me in my early 20s, we also have a team secretary, who is also a recent college graduate and a year younger than me, who is mainly responsible for assisting the team leader with day-to-day tasks, as well as acting as an accounting assistant and logistics. Due to our age, we became friends during the long journey.

The little girl's name is Zhou Qi, 165 cm, she looks very cute, her skin is fair, and she has shallow dimples when she laughs. Zhou Qi is from Hangzhou, whether it is the voice of speech or laughter is very good, and can cook very delicious Chinese food, when we live a boring life in the camp, this little girl often makes some West Lake vinegar fish, Longjing shrimp, Dongpo meat, Babao tofu, Hangzhou Sanxian and other delicacies, please enjoy the team.

In the remote Peruvian mountains, it was a pleasure to be able to eat food full of Jiangnan flavors, and until now, I still remember the hot food, and I can't help but smile when I think of my tongue burned because of gluttony, and life at that time was really a bit like going on vacation.

Perhaps because of the need for team building, Sino-Ocean's expatriate benefits are quite generous, and we have 3 truckloads of refrigerated food from the original China, paired with local food, these authentic hometown flavors are enough for us to enjoy for 24 months.

Sometimes, in order to please the service users, our team will take out a large amount of food and distribute it to mercenaries from various countries, and we have made many friends through Erguotou. In the camp where you can see heavily armed security personnel, maintaining a good relationship with these able-bodied guys gives us a lot of security.

While we were waiting for our connecting flight in Paris, France, we met Shirley, a girl of mixed Chinese and French descent who was in charge of picking us up, her father was Chinese, her surname was Zhang, and her mother was French. This girl is 1.70 cm tall, and has both the softness of an Oriental woman, the delicate facial features of a Western girl, her fair skin and her tall and plump figure.

Shirley and I didn't talk much at the time, and although I looked at the girl twice, I never thought that she would be my companion for a long time to come, really. When we first met, I didn't even know how to talk to her. Soon, though, when we arrived at the camp, we began to get to know each other.

Shirley and Zhou Qi became friends during the flight to South America, and thanks to Zhou Qi, I often saw this girl.

Remembering Shirley was an unexpected thing. Growing this big, the first time I've ever seen someone shoot at me was Shirley, and the girl was using a 2007 Ruger SuperBlackhawkHunter revolver.

Although this pistol is known as a giant cannon, it is actually only 13.38 inches long, weighs 1747 grams, and has a load of 6 rounds. The pistol was made entirely of steel and had a charming silvery-white metallic sheen, and when I first saw it, I felt the urge to get my hands on it.

That's my first thought.

But when I saw Shirley fire 6 bullets in a row at a frequency of 0.6 seconds and accurately hit the cans 100 meters away, I could feel my heart racing, at that time Shirley's eyes were absolutely serious, serious to a little cute, slender hair, charming eyes, and the extremely standard shooting posture and indifferent confidence, people remembered her at once.

Shirley's shallow smile at that time gave me a second thought, I wanted to have a Super Black Hawk pistol, but then I wanted to have Shirley.

The Super Black Hawk has a loud sound when it fires its gun, a large fireball, and its trigger is light and can be fired with a single pull. The first time I fired a bullet with it, I was so rushed that I almost dropped my whole pistol on the ground.

However, the experience was still quite exciting, and if I was still in the office of a domestic company, how could there be such excitement, I knew that I was not happy to accept such an assignment, and at the same time, I was glad that it introduced me to a different world and started a different life.

Our camp is huge, and after getting off the plane from Lima, Peru, our team has increased, and the company has prepared three cold trucks of food for us, as well as five large trucks of supplies, most of which are needed for equipment maintenance, except for some daily necessities.

This kind of battle alone is something I have never seen in my life. After a 20-day trek, our convoy arrived in a remote mountainous area east of the Andes, where our camp was stationed.

The Andes Mountains are the longest mountain range on earth, with a total length of about 8,900 kilometers from north to south, a general width of more than 300 kilometers, and an average altitude of more than 3,660 meters.

On the map of South America, Peru looks much smaller than the huge Brazil, but in fact the country is more than 1.2 million square kilometers and ranks 19th in the world in terms of land area. It took a lot of twists and turns to get to the mountains in the central and western part of the country, and as we went deep into the Amazon forest, felt the gradual reduction of people, and finally ended up in the mountains where there was no signal, I realized why we needed to prepare so many supplies.

Our camp was very large, covering more than 900 acres, the size of the school I was studying at the time, and in addition to our team, there were more than 800 other members, 30% of whom were professional adventurers, and a large number of mercenaries. Yes, there is a big difference between a professional adventurer and a mercenary, and I learned it later.

For a long time, I didn't know what this group of people was doing in this mysterious mountainous area. But judging by the large amount of equipment and equipment that is worn out every week, it seems that this group of people is engaged in an extraordinary exploration operation. At that time, Shirley would come back to the camp once a week to renovate and often come back to our cafeteria for meals.

Maybe it was a kind play of fate, maybe more than 2 months after coming to the camp, I walked out of the camp for the first time, for a commission from Shirley!

(The new book issue recommends adding 1000 plus one more chapter!) )
