Chapter 723: Heavenly Burial

The topic is far away, saying this, in fact, I just want everyone to know a truth, but if there is some influential form of religion, he can survive, which proves that it is a somewhat unique place, just like the hundred schools of thought of the pre-Qin Dynasty, after several ups and downs, only Confucianism remains, but does this show that Confucianism is the only correct thing? I don't think so.

The matter of Buddhism and Taoism has been debated for many years, but in the end there is no result.

Gradually, the cultivators recognized the value of Buddhism, and the Buddhists also recognized the Taoist system of immortals.

For us, whether it is Buddhism or Taoism, it is just that the technical means and ideological concepts are different.

What we have to do is actually the same, so Uncle Lin Jiu has a very good relationship with some monks, and if there are those souls who need to be exceeded, there are no sins that are sent over, and he will also send things to the temple with the consent of the other party's family.

Because the people of Buddhism are compassionate and have a relatively soft attitude towards these ghosts, there are some things that it is indeed better for them to do than for us to do them ourselves.

Outside of Buddhism, there are schools of thought, and in the earliest days, we would have very disdainfully referred to them as "evil paths", and shamanism was one of them.

In fact, in the eyes of orthodox Taoist cultivators, those of us who do not cultivate the inner pill but specialize in the study of talismans were once scoffed at as "evil crooked ways", but after so many years, gradually, don't we get along very well?

The shamanism practiced by the Mongols is largely the same as that of the northeast, but there are some minor differences.

They feel that the soul of a person is separated from the body, which is different from our philosophy, we all think that after a person dies, the soul returns to heaven and descends to the earth, and the normal one walks like this, and if there is resentment, the soul cannot leave in the normal way, and will accumulate in the body, follow the body, and will not disperse for a long time, which is what we call "ghosts".

There are many types of ghosts, the most common of which are those that follow the corpse, where the person is buried, it follows, it can leave, but not too far, unless there is some way for its soul to attach itself to some object, which can also be a person.

However, shamans have a different understanding of the soul, believing that in the vast majority of cases, when a person dies, the soul will be detached, and what remains is the body, and the real soul will leave the body and be placed on a kind of "camel hair".

In other words, this kind of camel hair is the one they want to sacrifice themselves, so most of the herdsmen in this pastoral area do not have too much affection for the flesh that remains after death, and this concept has created a kind of funeral method that the people of Middle-earth do not understand, which is what we call "wild burial".

"Wild burial" is similar to "sky burial", it is a very natural funeral method, the difference is that "wild burial" is softer than "sky burial", it is said that the process of this funeral method is like this:

After death, the corpse is baptized in a certain ritual that a shaman has to say, and then, the corpse is stripped naked, washed, and cleaned up, wrapped in a white bula and taken to a specific field area, where it can be thrown away.

This kind of place is similar to the mass graves of the past, where there are many wild animals, and after throwing the corpses, everyone goes back and waits.

Wait for three or two days and then look for the corpse again, if the corpse is eaten by wolves, wild dogs, vultures, birds of prey, and such things, then it is done, which means that his soul has returned to heaven, and the cleaner it is eaten, the greater his blessing.

But if his body had not been touched, it would be troublesome, and in addition to that, he would have to smear his body with something like butter to attract the wild creatures to come and enjoy it.

When I saw this, those who knew it scoffed, and those who had not heard of it thought it was strange, because, in the eyes of the people of Middle-earth, it was taboo to destroy the body, and even, I heard, in some areas, the method of burial is still secretly practiced.

At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, cremation was mandatory, and there was an unthinkable opportunity to catch up with the last general burial, and they also hanged themselves on the ground with their companions, and for a time, it was also regarded as a strange talk.

In fact, Nozo is nothing, compared to the sky burial, Nozo is relatively soft.

At this time, some people may want to ask, what is the sky burial?

Sky burial, like wild Tibet, is a kind of funeral method that returns to nature, which is popular in Tibetan areas, and Mongolia also has it, but it is rare.

The one who does this, after the person dies, will be placed on a high platform, and then, there will be a special person to dismember it, and there is the knife, which will cut off the flesh and skin of the person piece by piece, the internal organs, the bones, in short, there is nothing left that can be dismembered.

This is done to make it easier for vulture-like creatures that eat carrion, because Tibetan Buddhism believes that cutting meat to feed eagles is a very high moral attainment of the Buddha's kind of person who has become enlightened, and it is a very meritorious act.

The person who does this work is generally called the "celestial burial master", and I know one, really, this person has been dealing with dead corpses for many years, and he is disgusted when he sees meat, and he feels disgusting when he touches something that is slippery and greasy.

Of course, Genghis Khan is a generation of Tianjiao after all, it is impossible to feed the wolf dog or something casually, he has a mausoleum, and it is very large, according to legend, when burying him, in addition to the ten thousand horses, there are some additional protection measures, such as planting trees and grass.

Generally speaking, none of the people responsible for erasing the traces survived in the end, and the way the royal heirs used to inspect the works was also peculiar.

Because they couldn't find obvious landmarks, they would find a ewe before leaving the mausoleum, and then slaughter the lamb in front of the ewe, and when they wanted to go back, they would release the ewes that had been kept in captivity all year round from the sheepfold.

The ewe is worried about the safety of the lamb, as soon as she comes out of the sheepfold, she trots all the way to the place where the incident occurred, and when she arrives at the place, she wails in place, and the experienced people can see the general location of the imperial tomb at a glance, so as to judge whether the way the tomb is hidden is appropriate.

Objectively speaking, this kind of funeral method is really awesome, because, after a few times, even Genghis Khan's heirs can't find the specific location of the imperial tomb, Genghis Khan's cemetery, just like Cao Cao's seventy-two doubtful tombs, has become an eternal mystery.
