Chapter 10: The Elder in Naru
Twenty-five thousand years ago, a race called Ereda was born in a world known as Argus.
They are an extremely intelligent race and have a natural connection to magic. With these talents, they have built a vast and magical realm. Unfortunately, Ereda's accomplishments caught the attention of the Dark Titan Sargeras, who the Demon King considered Eredas well-suited to lead his swelling demon army, the Burning Legion.
As such, he contacted the three main leaders of the Ireda: Kilgardan, Akmund, and Viren. In exchange for the loyalty of the Eredas, Sargeras gave them untold power and forbidden knowledge.
However, not all Eredians are willing to fall into demons.
One of the three leaders, Viren, saw the terrifying power of the Burning Legion and witnessed the destruction and calamity it brought to the world. He hurried to warn Kilgardan and Akmund, but they didn't care, for they had been tempted by Sargeras's promise. They swore allegiance to Sargeras and became gigantic and evil creatures as a result.
The army under Sargeras's command was so powerful that resistance was simply unthinkable. Viren was on the verge of despair, but his prayers were not in vain. A mysterious being came to him and explained to him that he was a member of the Naru race, whose goal was to stop the burning legion of Sargeras. They propose to take Viren and the other unfallen Eredas to safety.
Relieved, Viren immediately gathered the Eredas who were unwilling to follow Sargeras. They refer to themselves as Delaney, which means "exile" in the Eredan language. The Draenei fled the world of Argus, with the Burning Legion following suit. Kilgardan believes that Viren has betrayed him, and is enraged by this, vowing to search every corner of the universe and destroy Viren and the Draenei.
The Draenei have visited many worlds and explored most of the known universe in order to find a safe harbor, but the Burning Legion has never given up on hunting down the Draenei. At the same time, the mysterious Naru race bestows the Draenei with the knowledge and power of the Light. Naru explains to the Draenei that there are other forces in the universe that dare to fight the Burning Legion, and that one day, Naru will unite them into an invincible army of light. The Draenei were deeply moved and pledged to believe in the Light and fight for Naru's selfless ideals.
For hundreds of years, the Prophet Velen has led the Draenei to settle in a distant and peaceful world that they have dubbed Draenor, the "refuge of the exiles", where they have silently rebuilt their kingdom.
However, things changed after spending hundreds of years of seclusion in safety.
A part of the natives of this world, the various orc tribes, united into a single whole. The Orcs known as the Iron Tribe are not only trying to conquer all of Draenor, but also to march into a world called Azeroth.
The Draenei have the power bestowed by the Light, so they are very powerful. However, Naru, who had given them the light, was either weakened or had begun to die, and was about to enter a state of emptiness. And the orcs of the Iron Tribe have mastered some kind of powerful scientific and technological power......
Thus, the war began, and the Delaney continued to lose. These blue-skinned humanoids with pure white eyes, hooves, tails, and horns were no match for the tall, fanged, brown or grayish-black skinned orcs.
Some died in battle, while others were captured by orcs and enslaved.
For example, Iriel in the Orc Arena.
Irel is one of those young Draenei born in Draenor. She grew up in the Temple of Carabo, one of the centers of the Light for the people of the Draenei, and was a devoted follower of the Light. As an adult, she became an acolyte, dedicated herself to her faith and research, and showed a bright future as a physician.
The prophet Viren noticed her talent and invited her to undergo his own training, teaching her the value of leadership and sacrifice. But Irel has a dark secret hidden in his heart, and Viren is aware of it. He knew that, for better or worse, the student had a bigger role to play. However, while thinking about his own future, Irel still wants to stay in the temple and silently take care of the people around him. But this ideal did not last long.
The ferocious orc clan coalesced into a war machine known as the Iron Tribe in an attempt to conquer Draenor, a change that shatters Irel's peaceful life and forces her into the middle of the war. Now, what fate will she face as a captive?
Irel turned his back to the orcs, despair welling up in his heart. The Iron Tribe was so powerful that she really couldn't escape from this arena. How could she have escaped?
O Light...... Irel blinked. Was she dazzled? No, not dazzling. There was something glowing in the dirt in front of her, a soft light. Under her stunned gaze, it slowly rose from the dirt, floated in the air, and stayed in front of her.
This is a book with a golden cover. On its cover, a few words are written in the Draenei script - the Holy Light Tome.
Touching it, a voice whispered in Iriel's head. The Draenei trembled and held out their blue hands in awe, expecting to feel the familiar warmth of the Light.
Energy instantly flowed through her body, and Irel gasped. Its warmth, like a small animal perched in the palm of her hand, calmed her mood. Irel took a deep breath, letting the familiar energy permeate her body, and then returned to the book.
Irel closed his eyes and opened every part of himself to the books.
Soon, certain visions began to arise in her mind......
"How long will it take......" The orc chieftain standing behind her stepped forward and raised his blade-only hand.
"Is that all you have to do?" Iriel, who was under control, asked unconvincedly.
"Still so stubborn, but your body has begun to betray you!"
"Shut up! You monster ......"
"Yours! Body! Inevitably! Surrender to me! The orc chief shouted, intensifying his efforts.
……
The orc chieftain conquered her body, but could not bring her soul to its knees. As a result, members of the Iron Tribe, and even various Tigermen, entered the arena in an attempt to defeat Irel and bring him to his knees.
But under the faith of the Light, Irel managed to squeeze her opponent dry without giving in. But the orc chief broke his promise (and said Iriel would have set her free) and threw her into the mines......
The image mercifully vanishes at this point. Irel blinked, her whole body trembling.
She was still lying on the stone platform, and time seemed to slow down, and everyone's movements were stretched and slowed down, including herself. It's just that her mind doesn't seem to be affected, and it's still running at high speed.
Books shone with a soothing light, and she was grateful for that comfort.
That hasn't happened yet. It hasn't happened yet.
Delaney couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. In any case, it hasn't happened yet. Freedom seemed out of reach, and although her faith was unbreakable, hope was ......
The bizarre, glittering force field around the book expanded, elongated, and revealed a form. Its glow made Irel barely open his eyes, but he wouldn't look away from him.
"You're not alone, Irel the Draenei." The voice whispered to her. The voice was sweet and gentle, soothing her, like flowing water, and like the summer wind. The light diminished slightly, and Irel could see the floating form in front of him.
The phantom that floats from the book appears to be a projection of Naru, a creature made of living light. But...... She felt that something was different.
The center of Naru is a soft gold, and the outer ring glows a sparkling purple. Strange runes carved out of metal emitted brilliant colors and brilliance, swirling and dancing around the center. This kind of quality is also possessed by the phantom in front of him, but its shape does not seem to be a rune, but a strange unknown text.
It continued to speak in his head, and to Iriel, it was like the light itself had been given a voice.
"I felt the impending catastrophe of this world and other worlds. Induced by the Iron Tribe, utter chaos and destruction are about to befall you, and the good, the good, the pure, will never return. ”
"Who...... What ......" Iriel was speechless by the magnificence of this being, and could only ask in his heart.
I am Naru, said the Radiant Being. As the longest of the Naru, you can call me...... Clams.
Irel whispered in his mind, "Naru...... Clam ......"
These two names were so pleasant to the ear that it seemed that just by pronouncing them, she got a glimmer of light from them.
"Are you here to save me?"
"No, kid. The only one who can save you is yourself. This is where it all began. "My body has been lurking at the Kil'gardan throne in the world of Argus for twenty-five thousand years. What you're seeing now is just a projection that I've created through this book. ”
"I have forged everything I know about the Way of Light into this book, and I have given it to a Draenei paladin whom I have a high opinion. Over time, it seems that those who inherited the book simply used it as an item with powerful Holy Light energy, as a holy pact for paladins...... Just like you can't remember your origins. ”
"We can't stop these things, because your people have free will. Interfering is not the way of Light. But you use your troubled heart to reach out and try to do everything in your power to be free. Therefore, we will also do our best to help you. I am also glad that more than 200 years after the book was sealed in the dirt - more than 200 years ago a catastrophe that killed the paladin who held it in the middle of the jungle - the book has been found again by the followers of the Light. ”
