Chapter VII: Hijacking

At night, police trucks in dark blue hulls sped down deserted highways, bulletproof armor emblazoned with "GCPD" (Gotham Police) printed in white letters.

The prisoner in the car was named Calvin Brown, and he was the killer posing as Batman. Now, he is being escorted to Black Gate Prison.

In the darkness of the night, no one noticed that two large-caliber sniper rifle bullets pierced the pitch-black night and flew incomparably, hitting the rapidly spinning wheels with incredible accuracy.

"Squeak"

The punctured and flat tires rubbed wildly against the road floor, emitting a high-pitched, shrill chirp. The driver banged on the steering wheel to try to get his bearings, but he couldn't stop the high-speed truck from slamming into a nearby telephone pole in an arc.

With a loud bang, the telephone pole fell over, and the front of the truck was completely dented.

The back door of the truck was opened, and the two policemen who were sitting in the car and were in charge of escorting them were shot in the chest just before they could raise their guns, and a string of blood splattered, and the two fell down one after another.

Unbeknownst to Calvin, he jumped out of the car and was in front of a man with a sniper rifle and a USP pistol. The man pulled out his tools and skilfully pried off Calvin's handcuffs.

"The boss has a new task for you." The man said, handing Calvin his smartphone.

Calvin glanced at it, and the young man on his phone who had found the warehouse where he stored his weapons before Batman was the new advisor to the Gotham Police Department.

"I'll send you his address now." The man said, "Your next task is this man." ”

Calvin had a cruel smile on his face, "It's a pleasure." ”

Returning from the Gotham Police Station, Roy realized what was going on as soon as he arrived at the door of his apartment.

The door of the apartment was left blank, leaving obvious signs that the lock had been picked open. Pushing the door open, Roy took two steps inside, a shoeprint about 11 yards in size printed on the smooth floor. And Calvin Brown, who had just been caught, happened to be the same yard.

From the living room to the dining room, the expected scene comes into view.

Calvin, who maintained a smile of "villain", stood behind a wheelchair with a dark boomerang in his hand, and the one sitting in the wheelchair was naturally Barbara. The sharp end of the boomerang pressed against her fair neck, as if the slightest exertion would cut through the frosty skin.

"Roy" Barbara's face was full of concern and apology.

"Hey, boy, we're meeting again." Calvin laughed, "I came to visit you, but unfortunately you weren't there, so I let your cute little girl suffer for you, okay?" ”

Roy only glanced at Barbara with his peripheral vision, and then said indifferently, "We don't have that kind of relationship, and it doesn't matter to me what you want to do with her." ”

Calvin laughed: "Mr. Green, we all know that you can't even deceive yourself by saying this, such a beautiful little girl, even if you have no feelings, you should be cultivated, right?" ”

He increased the force of his hand, and the sharp end of the dart sank into Barbara's snow-white skin, oozing a trace of red blood.

Roy's face remained unchanged and asked, "What do you want?" ”

"And that's where the easy part begins." Calvin said happily, "My boss is interested in you, and he thinks that your keen observation and strong logical thinking will be very helpful to his career, so he sent me to pick you up and meet with him." But I don't think you'll be interested in inviting you alone, so I came up with this idea. ”

"I'm sorry, I've never dealt with nobodies." Roy said, "Your boss has to have a name, right?" ”

Calvin laughed: "My boss? Hehe, don't be scared to pee your pants when you hear his name. My boss's name is Carmine Falcone. ”

He pretended to be mysterious, and deliberately raised his pitch to accentuate the words of Karman Falkney in order to increase his influence. Unfortunately, Roy's stunned expression did not appear, but he asked again without surprise: "Who is that?" Isn't it amazing? ”

Barbara, who was held hostage, gasped: "The 'Romans' are back?" ”

"It's still this little girl who knows more." Calvin said, "My boss, known as 'Romans,' is a legendary figure in Gotham City. Gotham was once his city, and almost no one, whether it was the authorities or the street gangs, dared to contradict the 'Romans'. Once upon a time, 'Romans' was the law of Gotham City, and no one could surpass him. ”

"Until Batman shows up." Roy had already guessed the development of the story.

Calvin nodded: "Yes, that cross-dressing maniac did catch the boss off guard, and the boss had to leave Gotham City for the time being." Now, he's ready. Soon, Gotham will be back to what it should be! Soon, my boss will take Gotham back! ”

Barbara sneered: "With Falcone alone, he will never win against Batman." ”

Calvin leaned in close to Barbara's face, leaned close to her ear and whispered in a voice, "We'll see." ”

Later, he said to Roy, "Then I have explained it clearly, can I trouble you to tie yourself up and follow me now?" ”

"I refuse." Roy glanced at Barbara and said, "You can do whatever you like." Believe it or not, but this woman is just sharing an apartment with me, that's all, you love to kill or not. Now if you don't mind, I'll go out and call the police. ”

After saying that, he really turned around and left.

Calvin was stunned.

He reminded himself to beware of the other party's various tricks to try to rescue the hostages, but he really didn't consider the possibility of turning around and leaving.

Ordinary people think the same way, right? After all, they are all living together, how can it be an attitude that it doesn't matter whether the other party lives or dies?

But now it seems that this is really the case.

The target is about to leave this room, what should I do? Calvin only had a few seconds to make a choice, and he didn't have time to think too much. Eventually, Calvin's hand holding the boomerang flicked sharply, and the black boomerang flew towards Roy in a perfect arc.

At this moment, Roy seemed to have eyes on his back, his upper body moved to the right side of his body while the center of gravity of his body shifted downward, and his short body turned quickly while avoiding the darts, and a bright flying knife appeared in his hand at some point, and it flew out along a straight trajectory with a flick.

Unexpected by such a change, Calvin didn't have time to react, and the knife flew with terrifying precision almost grazing Barbara's cheek and plunging into Calvin's right shoulder.

Blood splattered.

Then, at this moment, Barbara also moved. She slammed Calvin in the abdomen with her right elbow, causing him to bow down involuntarily, and then wrapped her arms around one of Calvin's arms. The next moment, the big man fell over Barbara's feeble-looking shoulder and fell headfirst to the floor.

Roy had a look of surprise on his face for the first time since stepping into the room.

It's not like he's never seen an over-the-shoulder fall, but it's the first time he's seen an over-the-shoulder fall in a wheelchair.

It didn't take long for the apartment to be filled with police officers coming and going.

Director Gordon rushed to his daughter's side in a hurry and hugged him distressedly: "Oh, Babs, it's great that you're okay"

Babs Seeds is Barbara's nickname.

Barbara laughed, "I'm fine, I'm fine, Dad." It's Roy, he's been so good."

Roy on the side smiled brightly: "Although I also know that I am very powerful, you are not bad." It's hidden. ”

Barbara smiled: "Of course, I have also studied women's self-defense skills seriously before." You know, in such a city, and the daughter of the police chief, how can you do it without learning two tricks? ”

Wheelchair over-the-shoulder fall, this is not a three-legged cat kung fu at the level of women's self-defense. But Roy didn't debunk it.

"You too." Barbara said, "You have the confidence to throw that knife so accurately, right?" ”

"Talent." "I have an unusual talent for aiming, whether it's shooting or darts. ”

"It looks like we all have a lot to learn about each other." Barbara gave a wry smile.
