Chapter 13 Expulsion
"It can't !!"
This was the most irritable side of Barbara that Roy remembered he had seen. The girl was now so agitated that she crumpled the newspaper that had just been delivered in the morning and threw it on the ground and bounced it twice, which showed how hard she was fighting. Her voice provoked a young nurse outside the ward to run to remind her to keep a low profile.
Barbara had just gotten the result of her father's mistaken pursuit of criminals, killing two people, including a police detective. The detective's family rebuked Director Jim Gordon by name and decided to prosecute.
"Calm down, Barbara." Roy reminded softly.
"How can you be calm!?" Barbara was very excited, angry, if it weren't for her legs, she must have stood up by now, "You don't know what kind of man my father is! He was the best man I have ever met, and this kind of prosecution against him, despite his innocence, is in itself an insult to him! ”
"You know it only takes me a few tens of seconds to understand a person, and I've been working with your father for three months, so you tell me if I know what kind of person your father is." Roy said calmly.
"Then how can you be so indifferent? You know, he's a good guy! He never asked for the treatment he deserved, but he didn't deserve this ending either! ”
"Of course not." "But I don't think you're angry here to acquit him." ”
"Well, maybe you're right about that." "So I'm going to find out what happened." ”
As she spoke, her wheelchair had been turned to leave the room.
"Before that, wait a minute." Roy took her hand, "You know, I once told you that I've never had friends. But the last four months with your life have made me feel like a friend, and that's probably what it is. ”
Barbara was silent, not speaking, but also not looking to leave.
"Yesterday, you said that you could be my first friend, although I didn't say anything, but in my heart, I already agree with it. So, let me help you. I promise you, I'm going to find out the truth of the matter, find out what happened to the whole thing, and find evidence to prove your father's innocence, okay? ”
She didn't speak, but nodded after a moment's pause.
"Very well, let me put my coat on first." Roy slipped out of the covers, "And then I went through the damn discharge that was long overdue, and then I'm going to find out what the hell was going on." ”
Looking at Roy, who had changed into a hospital gown, Barbara bit her red lip and said softly, "Thank you, Roy also pleases you." ”
Gotham Police Department.
Such a big thing happened, and of course the police station exploded. Jim Gordon, a good director until last night, turned into a murderer overnight. You know, many police officers in the police station have always regarded Jim Gordon as an idolatrous, and many people can't accept this fact.
The bigger news is that Forbes has taken the position of director.
This is not too strange, he was originally the deputy director. Now that Gordon has had an accident, the governor's days are naturally over. Early this morning, Mayor Harrison personally visited the Gotham Police Department to express his full apologies for Jim Gordon's accident, but also pointed out that the Gotham Police Department could not be affected by these influences, and personally appointed the deputy commissioner of Forbes to become the chief of the Gotham Police Department.
At about eleven o'clock in the morning, Roy rushed to the Gotham police station and found Detective Bullock with a big belly.
"Detective Bullock." Roy got straight to the point, "I'd like to apply for a pass through the Burledon Hotel blockade, and I'm sure we can agree on a different point of view in the case of Director Jim Gordon's manslaughter, so if you get me a pass, I'm sure it will make it easier for me to figure out what happened." ”
Unexpectedly, the chubby police detective gave him a blank look and said, "There's no need." ”
"What?"
"I was watching from inside when Gordon missed, and I saw the whole thing happen with my own eyes, and I knew exactly what was going on," Bullock said word for word. So your investigation is not necessary. ”
"Then I have to say that sometimes seeing is not necessarily believing." Roy insisted, "I'd rather figure it out on my own." ”
"Impossible." Detective Bullock said dryly.
"Why?"
"Because our new Forbes director forbade us to dwell on Gordon's case any longer." Bullock also expressed obvious displeasure when he said this, "What this guy said about Gordon is a thing of the past, we have to look forward." ”
Roy didn't say a word, didn't say anything more, turned his head and headed straight for the director's office.
When Roy opened the door to the director's office, the new director, Forbes, was answering a phone call. He hung up his phone and asked with a relaxed expression that was out of step with the atmosphere of the bureau, "Is there something wrong?" ”
"I would like to request an investigation into the case of Commissioner Jim Gordon." Roy said calmly.
"Oh, that's a pity, but I want to say, let him pass. Forget Jim Gordon, we always have to move forward. ”
Roy sneered.
"How?" Forbes asked.
"Nothing." Roy looked him in the eye and said, "I'm just curious how long you've been in collusion with Falcone, and how much he's done you." ”
Forbes's face changed slightly, and of course he couldn't escape Roy's eyes.
"I don't understand what you're talking about." He said.
"The leather shoes you've been wearing these two days are worth a lot, and I haven't seen you wear them once in the months I've been here; Not to mention this leather shoe polish, don't think about the garlic I can recognize its quality at a glance, which only a big guy of Bruce Wayne's level can afford. There is also the watch, the watch you used to wear looked like a symbol of dignity, but if you know a little bit, you will know that it is a stall. But now this piece, I dare say it's worth more than two months' worth of your original salary. Do you want to explain how an honest and honest cop suddenly became an upstart in just a few days? Oh, and don't remind me, because I just found out that the caller ID of that call you just made was 'unknown', it must not be your new boss Falcone, right? ”
Almost the moment Roy walked in the door, Forbes hung up the phone, and for such a brief moment, he actually captured the display of the word "unknown" on the phone, and that eyesight was simply anti-human.
Forbes's face turned pale, and only two words came out of his mouth: "Get out." ”
"Why? Because you're afraid that I'm right and leave you speechless? ”
Forbes swished up from his chair, looked at him, and said viciously, "The Gotham Police Department doesn't need any advisors anymore, and you won't have to come back from today." In other words, you're fired. Now, get the hell out of my office. ”
Roy stared at him for a moment, then took a big step, the tip of his nose almost touching Forbes's nose.
Forbes couldn't help but take a step back, and for a moment he felt a head shorter than his opponent - despite his considerable height.
"It's far from over."
Putting down the last sentence, Roy turned around and strode out of the police station.
Wayne Manor, underground, Bat Cave.
It's Batman's secret lair, dimly lit, with a swarm of bats circling around the stalactites at the top, and all sorts of advanced technology neatly arranged, clustered around a central revolving chair and a large computer with multiple screens.
In the darkness, two lights came in. The heavy, tank-like Batmobile came with a heavy roar and stopped in the circular parking lot like a wild horse on a leash. The roof of the car slid away, and the Dark Knight, dressed in black armor and cape large enough to wrap his entire body, jumped out of the car and strode towards his seat.
But he suddenly stopped.
"Who?" Batman asked in a deep, voice-changing voice.
The rotating chair in front of the bat computer slowly turned, and a rather personable young man crossed his hands on his chest and said, "I've been waiting for you for a long time." My name is Roy Green, and I'm sure you remember me, Batman. Or should I say Mr. Wayne? ”
