Chapter 10: The Killer
The doorbell rang, and it went on and on.
Roy and Barbara look at each other, and then Roy answers the door.
Roy walked to the door, didn't open it, but looked out with the cat's eye on it. Through the concave lens of the cat's eye on the door, Roy could see outside a neatly dressed black man in a police uniform, roughly between 175 and 180 tall.
"Who?" Roy asked through the door.
The black detective replied, "I'm the Clayford deputy of the Gotham Police Department. My partner and I just spotted something unusual in the back and I wanted to go in and check it out. Trouble opening the door, okay? ”
Roy pondered for a moment and asked, "Of course, but can you show me your badge?" ”
"Of course."
Roy looked out through the cat's eye, and the black man outside had already shown his golden badge, with the number 0523 printed under the capital letters "DETECTIVE".
"Okay, please wait."
Roy said this, and the man had already taken two steps back, pushing a table and a chair stuck in the doorway.
"How?" Barbara asked in a whisper.
"The police badge of the deputy team starts with the word 1." Roy motioned for her to step back and whispered, "This guy starts with 0. ”
As soon as the words ended, the gunshots rang out, and the door lock was immediately crumbled down from this side. Then there was a sound like a hammer pounding, and the tables and chairs against the door began to tremble. Apparently the man had already started banging on the door.
"Back to the bedroom! Lock the door! I can handle him! Roy shouted to Barbara.
Barbara didn't insist on anything, and obediently hid in the bedroom. She also knew that she was a living target in a wheelchair, and staying would only add to the chaos.
After a dozen seconds of crashing, the fake black squad finally managed to knock the door open. He rushed inside, the muzzle of the black hole looking around like a cunning eye.
The moment he turned to the right, a figure appeared from the kitchen to his left. The black man turned his gun as fast as he could, and fired, but the man was faster than he was. A throwing knife spun and flew in, hitting the barrel of the pistol impartially, and the black man's mouth was numb, and the gun had already landed.
Roy's surprise attack was successful, and the uninvited guest was not spared a breath of effort, and the second throwing knife followed and came out of his hand. But the black man's reaction was also extremely fast, the moment the pistol was taken off, the other hand had already slipped out of the sleeve of the sharp knife, silver flashed, and the flying knife thrown by Roy had been knocked to the ground with a "clang".
Roy's heart sank, and he realized that this black man was not simple. Reacting so quickly to show the knife, and intercepting the flying knife thrown at high speed so accurately in such an electric and flint kung fu, the eyesight and hand skills are not at the level of ordinary people. It's supposed to be a pro-level killer.
If you want to win him, it's hard!
Although Roy had learned a few hand-to-hand combat kung fu in his previous life and learned it quite well, it was another matter to put it in front of a professional-level killer. But now he doesn't seem to have any other choice.
The black man had already jumped up, already holding a sharp knife in both hands.
He shot quickly, a knife like a meteor passing through the sky, and when he saw his trajectory clearly, it was too late to dodge. Roy barely dodged the first slash, and in the second slash he had to parry his opponent's wrist with his arm to avoid being scratched. The third knife was swung, and Roy's left arm had already been cut with a long blood mark.
Roy gritted his teeth and snatched a whip leg, but was lightly stopped by the other party, and at the same time, the other hand stabbed Roy in the abdomen without hesitation. Roy dodged the vital part, but finally couldn't completely dodge, the cold knife stabbed into the abdomen, and the blood flowed profusely.
After a few rounds of fighting, only a few breaths, Roy's ears seemed to have the footsteps of the Grim Reaper.
That's when the situation changed dramatically.
The black man couldn't see it with his back to the bedroom, but Roy could see it. The door opened, the wheelchair slid out, and Barbara held the fruit knife on the table in her hand, her blue eyes full of things that she didn't normally have behind the black frames.
It's like, the awakening of a warrior's soul.
The fruit knife burst through the air, whirling in the air, and even made a slight roar when it rubbed against the air. And then it was as if it had been programmed to hit the knee joint behind the black man's right leg impartially.
"Ahh
The black man screamed, his right leg lost its support and fell to his knees, his hand couldn't help but weaken, and the knife fell to the ground.
Roy, of course, would not let go of such a perfect opportunity, he swept the black man into the right side of the face with a roundabout kick, and then smashed the black man into the head with all the strength he mustered, knocking the black man unconscious.
When it was finally settled, Roy sat down on the ground with a long sigh of relief, leaning against the wall and gasping for breath.
Barbara hurriedly came to his side, saw that his blood had stained a large area of his abdomen, and hurriedly took out her mobile phone: "911? Someone was injured, a lot of blood loss address hurry up! ”
"First aid is coming, are you okay?" Barbara hung up the phone and asked anxiously.
Roy's face was pale, but he said, "Don't worry, I know it in my heart, it's okay." ”
Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to sit up and began to rummage through the fallen black man.
"Don't move around and reduce blood loss." Barbara said.
Roy didn't listen, and pulled out a pack of 555 cigarettes from the inside of the black man's shirt: "I guess this is Jay Galen's accomplice." ”
In a moment, he pulled out a cell phone from the man's pants pocket. It's a pity that it's locked.
Roy handed his phone to Barbara, "Crack the code and check to see if there are any noteworthy clues in it." ”
Barbara stared at his pale face for a moment and sighed, "Well, I don't think you will listen even if I advise you to be honest and wait for first aid." Sit here and don't move, I'll bring my laptop. ”
After a while, she returned with her computer and began to work on cracking the password.
When she cracked the code, Roy suddenly spoke, "Looks like you still have a lot of things I don't know?" ”
"Huh? How so? ”
"The texture of the fruit knife is uneven." Roy said, "Throwing it from that place and hitting the back knee with accuracy, don't tell me it's blind, we don't believe it." ”
Barbara smiled: "Then I guess I have some special interests that other girls don't have, I've practiced well, and I've cracked it successfully." ”
Roy didn't dwell on the question any longer, and tried to mentally check the contents of his phone.
Most of the records were cleaned up by him, except for a few of tonight's call logs that hadn't had time to be cleaned up. He had only spoken to three other people tonight, and one of the numbers was still "unknown."
"There's no basis for it, but let me make a bold guess." Roy said, "One of the two numbers is Jay Galen we're looking for, and that 'can't show' is Falcone." ”
