Chapter 336: Black Krypton
Metropolis, Westcher's Bar.
This is no ordinary bar. As the saying goes, "like things gather people in groups", people on the road always like to deal with their peers, and this bar is such a place. Most of the people in it are such people, or they are people who have interests with some bigwigs, such as the general who huddles two scantily clad dancers on the leather sofa in the VIP seat in the corner.
On weekdays, it's not very quiet here eitherโcompared to other similar places. In addition to the huge dance floor and pole dancers, there is also a small ring. Every day, muscular men jump into the ring to fight hand-to-hand, and this kind of wild and violent activity always arouses the enthusiasm of the audience, and every time a large number of people gather around the ring to shout and cheer.
But today, it is especially not calm.
In less than a minute, several sturdy security guards fell to the ground like dead pigs, and the dancers on the dance floor screamed in terror and fled because of the flying bullets and bullet casings on the ground. The brazen men who were shirtless and looked extremely strong also couldn't hold out for a few seconds longer than the security guards, and most of those who dared to come forward at this moment had been beaten unconscious.
And the one who made such a disturbance was just a bat.
Batman has been to the Met a lot of times, and he has noticed this bar for a while, but he rarely came up to find trouble before. He's not here today to trouble any Metropolitan gangster, his goal is to curl up in the corner couch as if trying to reduce his presence so that Batman doesn't notice his general.
But it backfired, and Batman walked straight towards him after knocking down a bunch of thugs.
Batman pressed the guy's chubby face, slammed it on the table with fruit and drinks on one side, and asked loudly in a hoarse voice processed by a voice changer, "A month ago, Lex Luthor's team unearthed something, something involving Kryptonians. Your troops have moved the transport of such items to the relevant stronghold. Now, you can choose to tell me in an easier or harder way, what exactly is that thing? Where was it shipped? Personally, I would recommend that you go the easy way, but I don't mind if you choose the latter. โ
"You idiot, do you know who I am!?" The general shouted feebly, "You are coercing me to hand over state secrets!" Do you know what this crime is? โ
"Yes."
Batman said lightly, and with a force in his hand, he only heard a crisp "click", and the general's arm was immediately rudely broken. He howled bitterly, snot and tears flowing.
"Okay, I say! But I don't really know what that is! "I'm just in charge of transport, but I don't know what it is!" โ
I don't know if it's his own delusion, he seems to catch a glimpse of Batman's terrifying mask with an impatient expression, and hurriedly said: "But! But! I know where it was shipped! Right in the Metropolis, the base under the jurisdiction of General Lane, if you want to know what that is, you go and see for yourself! I swear I really know that much. โ
"You'd better be." Batman leaned close to his face, pale from severe pain, and said coldly, "Because if I find out you're lying, I'll come back to you." Until then, you can imagine for yourself what it would be like to be approached by me. โ
The chubby general seemed to be really obedient and made up for it, and he was shocked.
Batman turned away, ignored him, and strode out of the bar as if no one was around in the midst of everyone's astonished and frightened gazes.
Jumping into the Batmobile, as soon as the engine is started, there is a message coming in from the communication line.
"Alfred?"
"Sir, the Justice League line is calling, do you need to transfer to your line?"
"Okay."
The line turns, and Superman's voice comes over the speaker: "I noticed you're in Met, Batman." โ
"Yes."
"I've just been back in the atmosphere now," Superman said, "I've only been away for two days, and now my super vision sees my cousin's wanted notices plastered all over town." Explain the situation to me. โ
"Meet at General Lane's base." Batman said, "I'm rushing over." I haven't figured out a lot of details yet, but I've generally figured it out, and I'll explain it to you on the way. โ
General Lane's base.
In the control room, two duty officers in military uniforms lay unconscious on the floor. And Roy is wearing a duty uniform and a digital mask at the moment, operating quickly in front of the operating table.
"Found it." He whispered, his voice reaching Kara's ears hovering above the base through a headset hidden in his cochlea.
Information about the "Confidential Option" quickly popped up on the screen. Of course, these are encrypted, but the security protocols are broken by Barbara via a remote connection.
"The 'Absolute Exclusion Zone' is about four floors below us." Roy said, calling up the relevant image file, and the full view of the black kryptonite quickly popped up on the screen.
"So that 'absolutely secret' thing unearthed by Luthor is kryptonite." Roy frowned and said, "Black kryptonite, a variety that has never been seen before. According to Luther's research on his radiation type and ability coefficient, black kryptonite may be able to directly erase the life force of Kryptonians. Unlike green kryptonite, green kryptonite only weakens superpowers and weakens the Kryptonite's body, while the radiation of black kryptonite may be able to directly obliterate Kryptonite. โ
"I can see it from here." Kara floated above the building and said, "This can't be true, right?" โ
"It has not yet been tested, and it is impossible to confirm the correctness of the conclusions until the experiment is conducted on a real Kryptonian. But if it's true"
Roy didn't go on, but they both understood what it meant.
If black kryptonite can really kill a Kryptonite directly, then maybe the unearthing of this thing can change the whole world.
"You're right, I haven't tried it yet." A male voice rang out at the door of the control room. As soon as Roy turned around, Luthor was already standing there, and the barrels of the guns of a dozen soldiers behind him were pointed at him.
"But my calculations, I believe, are usually correct." Luthor smiled and said confidently, "That's why I believe that the excavation of this small piece of Kryptonite can completely end the endless entanglement between me and Superman and the other Kryptonians." (To be continued.) )
