Chapter 0 Sub-Personality The Psychological Reality of Evolution

Next Chapter

Although the evolution of the sub-personality is not visible like the change of matter, it is also as realistic as the change of matter, and it is by no means something that can be done as you want.

Let me illustrate with an example.

There was a woman whose original personality was very aggressive. It is very difficult for her to make friends with others, because the unintentional words of others will offend her, and she may not say anything at the time, and sooner or later she must wait for an opportunity to take revenge. When the personality image is broken down, she discovers that she has a sub-personality that is a viper. "Poison" often symbolizes aggression, so the symbolism of a venomous snake and a non-venomous snake is different, a non-venomous snake symbolizes less aggression, and a venomous snake symbolizes a strong aggressiveness.

After a period of psychological counseling, and through her own psychological adjustment, her interpersonal relationships have greatly improved. She's less sensitive and suspicious, and she's become more confident. She used to be not confident in her appearance, but now she believes that she has a good temperament. It turned out that she didn't accept her character, but now she also began to appreciate herself. Her "viper" is gone, and in its place is a new sub-personality, Peacock. In the process of image dialogue and personality image decomposition, the meaning of the peacock image is not exactly the same as the meaning we think in our daily life. We generally think of the peacock as a symbol of beauty, and possibly a symbol of pride, vanity, and the love to show off. In fact, the peacock symbolizes self-confidence, pride, bravery, beauty, and also symbolizes restraint from bad attitudes. The peacock in our minds is a delicate bird, but in fact the peacock symbolizes a very strong psychological strength. In her imagination, the peacock stood at the door of the underworld, staring at the bottom with a determined gaze, not allowing the ghosts in the underworld to have a chance to come out. The peacock in her imagination is very powerful. At that time, she herself was very surprised and said, "Why is the peacock I imagined different from the ordinary peacock, so powerful?"

Although the characteristics of the peacock image are different from what people generally think, they are very similar to the myths and legends of many ethnic groups and the characteristics of the mythical peacock in Buddhism and Hinduism: remember that the "Peacock Ming King" in Buddhist legends is a very majestic king, and the legend also believes that the peacock can "suppress demons". Although peacocks are not poisonous on the surface, peacocks are not poisonous, but we know that in the legend, among the most poisonous things is peacock gall. In Buddhist legend, peacocks feed on poisonous weeds. It is a deadly poisonous weed for other animals, but for the peacock, it is a tonic that gives it strength. The same is true of the peacock in our image. The venomous snake symbolizes the aggressiveness of a person with low self-esteem. People with low self-esteem lurk in the shadows like snakes, secretly chewing on their hatred, until they find the right time, and then suddenly burst out and bite others. Moreover, they tend to use "mouth" in their attacks, such as they will be sarcastic, speak ill of others, and so on. In the eyes of the psychoanalytic school, Chi is the so-called "oral aggressive personality". The peacock symbolizes compensating for low self-esteem with self-confidence, as her self-confidence is not yet stable. There is also an element of compensation, so it will show overkill, as pride. However, her aggression was transformed after all. It became the guts of a peacock. As we all know, gall symbolizes courage. We can understand it this way, her aggression turned into "courage". This is also the transformation that took place in her listening in psychological counseling, and her aggression turned into bravery. In the past, when she was angry, she didn't dare to express it directly, but now when she is angry, she dares to speak out directly and express her dissatisfaction directly. In this way, her whole person has changed. Others were able to accept her because she was more open.

After some time, her peacock evolved into a new offspring, the Crane.

The crane symbolizes freedom, detachment, etc. On the surface, cranes are not aggressive. But in fact, in our imagery world, cranes are also aggressive. We should all know as children that there is a poison that is as poisonous as peacock gall bladder in legend. It's called "Crane Top Red".

The "poison" of the crane is on the top of the head, which symbolizes that the pride and aggression of the crane are related to the "head". In fact, the sub-personality symbolized by the crane is a "rational" sub-personality, a person who is intelligent and takes pride in his intelligence, sometimes speaks harshly, and is good at attacking people with a crane-like beak. Now she is like this, she has become more confident and graceful, and occasionally when she attacks others, she attacks with reason and words, and she will be like a crane with "sharp teeth and sharp mouth".

In this process, we can see that "poison" has always existed, from snake venom to peacock gall bladder and then to crane top red, so this element has not undergone "nuclear physics" evolution. However, the element of "self-confidence" replaces "inferiority", and the combination of "poison" and different elements also changes. The venom of snakes is harmful; The poison of the peacock is more beneficial than disadvantageous, and the "poison" is the arrogance of the peacock, but it also gives the peacock strength and courage; The poison of the crane also outweighs the disadvantages, and the crane is also arrogant, but its arrogance is not as obvious as that of the peacock, and the poison gives the crane its witty and sarcastic wisdom. An excellent crane can be like Qian Zhongshu who wrote "The Siege of the City", with a hint of wit in talking and laughing.

We say that this is a psychological reality, on the one hand, because many myths and legends coincide with the changes in the characteristics of our imagery, and it is by no means accidental; Another reason is that we find that whoever is, whether he knows our technology or not, as long as she has the same imagery, the law of transformation is exactly the same. I've seen quite a few "poisonous snakes", and then they all turned into peacocks, and some of them became cranes. There are no exceptions, and no snake has ever been seen transformed into a rabbit, a cat, or a pigeon. If the crane wants to further become a phoenix, it will be more difficult, the phoenix must have the element of "love", and the crane is relatively lacking in love, so we must find a sub-personality, it has the element of love, and it must be able to "integrate" with the crane; Or there is to have a "nuclear physics" evolution, and the evolution of nuclear physics is more difficult......
