Chapter 257: The Battle of Silence
Like a whirlwind, the Batchariot weaved through downtown Gotham and down the suburban roads to Arkham Island.
Silence smuggled Alfred to Arkham Island, and things were done quite stealthily. But there are always traces of such things anyway, and finding relevant clues happens to be Batman's forte.
Eventually, the clues led him to Arkham. Now, he was sure that Alfred had been smuggled to Arkham Island by Silence, where he was locked up with a group of murderous lunatics.
As soon as he thought of this, he couldn't suppress his anxiety, so he could only slam on the accelerator and push the horsepower of the Batmobile to the extreme, and the speed of the car was more than double the speed limit on the road.
Arkham Island is usually a suspended bridge that is raised, and no unauthorized person or car is allowed to enter. But of course, Batman will have his own "special passageway" so that he can enter and exit Arkham at will.
The Batcarts drifted and stopped, stopping on Arkham Island. The door slides open, and Batman rolls out of the car and heads straight for Arkham Asylum.
It was only about twenty steps away from the madhouse. Batman pulled out his rope gun and shot a flying claw at the dripper of the tall building, the rope constricting and pulling him into the air.
From the main entrance, of course, the guards will not let him in easily. However, Batman has studied Arkham's structure in detail, and he has his own route to infiltrate Arkham.
But the unexpected circumstances completely disrupted his plan.
"Boom!"
Like a loud crash of heaven and earth, the earth let out a dull roar, and the entire island of Arkham suddenly fell as if it were about to sink into the water.
The irresistible powerful impact came head-on, and Batman, who was flying into the air, was like a black feather, the rope gun in his hand came out of his hand, and the whole person was blown out and fell to the ground in the air.
It's an insane asylum.
Right in front of him, more than twenty steps away, the entire madhouse seemed to have turned into a feast in the Flame Demon Plate in an instant. Smoke rose from the base of the building, like an overwhelming white mist, engulfing the entire asylum in the blink of an eye.
And now, Alfred is still inside the building.
"No!"
Batman shouted, ignoring the internal injuries he had just fallen from a height of nearly ten meters, he hurriedly got up and rushed forward in front of the rolling yellow dust.
After all, Arkham Asylum is one of the best high-end buildings in Gotham, and its fire and earthquake resistance capabilities are top-notch, although this round of sudden explosions is amazing, it did not directly cause the collapse of the entire Child's Asylum.
But that's not all.
Batman had just taken three steps forward when the second round of blasts followed. This time, the amount of explosives was more abundant and more powerful. A terrible roar resounded through the sky, echoes echoed in waves, and the earth let out a terrible cry and violently shook up. Arkham's base was finally completely destroyed after several loud bangs, and the flames rushed out from the inside with yellow dust.
A boulder was swept and fell towards the top of Batman's head, and he hurriedly pounced to the side, narrowly dodging away.
Inevitably, it happened.
The huge building sank in a "boom" in a cloud of smoke and dust, and then it was reduced to rubble in a few moments.
The dust drifted in the air, and visibility was reduced to extremely low at this moment. Arkham Island suddenly switched to the highest alert state, the sirens sounded loudly, and the array sounded extremely harshly.
The Dark Knight hung his head and knelt down in front of the ruins, his back under the pitch-black cloak looking so vicissitudes.
Batman knew that it was the guy who did it, the bandaged man. He transferred Alfred to an insane asylum and had Batman track him down, then forcing him to watch his loved ones die in front of him.
Until now, the goal of all this has been to completely destroy the Dark Knight from the inside out.
A silhouette crept out of the yellow dust behind Batman, and his leather boots kicked the smoke screen in this direction.
Batman slowly turned his head, and out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of someone - the culprit of it all.
Silent.
A few hours earlier, he had just fought a fierce battle with the Winged Knight near Wayne Tower. Although it was a fiasco, it did not affect his current plan.
"You."
Batman stood up, turned his head, and asked coldly, "Why did you do this?" ”
"Why, you ask? Bruce? Silent chuckled, "Of course, it's because I hate you." ”
"Why do you hate me? Who are you? ”
Silent without saying a word, he silently removed the bandages on his face.
Batman's face changed: "Tommy!?" No, it can't be, Dr. Elliot has been"
"Dead?" Silence laughed, "The greatest detective in the world, think about it. Doesn't the clues that the Winged Knight has given you, the corpse that was stolen before the burial disguised as me, and the Clayface who can transform into anyone, any kind of person, all of these things make you think of anything? ”
"But," Batman gritted his teeth, "it can't be. ”
"What can't be? For example, shouldn't your best friend Tommy Elliott hate you so much? Silent chuckled, "That's just a disguise, Bruce, it's been a long time since I hated you all the moment your father walked out of my parents' operating room." ”
"My father has done his best." Batman said, "It was a serious crash, and while I'm sorry to say that, Tommy, no one can save your dad." Hold your mother already "
Silence looked up and laughed as if he had heard some shocking joke.
"So that's what you think?" He snorted, "You think that's what I think? I've never had the slightest regret that my father wasn't saved, Bruce. What I have never been able to let go of and forgive is that your father saved my mother. ”
Batman was stunned.
"It's you." He quickly regained his indifferent tone, "You are the cause of the car accident back then, it was you who did something in the car!" ”
"Not bad!" Silence became emotional, "But unfortunately, people are not as good as heaven." I tried my best to get rid of the people who got in the way and get everything they had, but God didn't let my mom die honestly, and I had to wait until this old guy died of cancer! And you, Bruce! You're always the lucky one, and you don't even have to use your brain to get everything. Heaven has arranged for you to solve your parents in one fell swoop, so that you have everything they have. ”
Batman clenched his fists.
"So you've always thought so? Tommy? He asked, "You can have whatever you want?" Do you think my parents' deaths were my luck? ”
"That's right."
"Then it looks like we don't have much more to say." Batman said coldly, "I didn't know until today. Tommy Elliott, whom I knew, died more than 20 years ago. (To be continued.) )
