Chapter 60: Bank Robbery
For Gotham, a criminal act is nothing new. But the criminals of Gotham have always found ways to make new criminal activity fresh in order to earn themselves a place on the front pages of the newspapers. Among such people, the clown is the most experienced. As a result, he also has the most chances of getting a front-page headline position.
The Joker's recent photogenic rate can be said to be quite high, and every day in recent days, the front page of the newspaper is indispensable for the letters "JOKER", and then his "glorious deeds" will follow.
After making a fuss at the Gotham police station, the Joker dragged a bunch of cops into the bus he had come from - apparently he had chosen to drive a bus with that in mind in the first place - and drove away. The only ones who were lucky enough not to be taken away were Roy, who rushed out of the crowd all the way through the crowd with brutality and force, and Director Jim Gordon, who insisted with extraordinary perseverance that he did not completely fall under the control of the poison.
Gordon was soon sent to Gotham Hospital. Originally, if the time dragged on a little longer, it might leave sequelae, but fortunately, the clown's action this time seemed to have other "fun", and he was not very interested in the old director, so he left him and ignored it. This is also a blessing in disguise.
As soon as Barbara heard about what was going on at the police station, she rushed to Gotham Hospital without stopping. She rushed into her father's hospital room in a wheelchair like a gallop, and went up to a bear hug.
"Dad!"
Gordon smiled with relief: "I'm fine, sweetheart, your daddy is very hard." β
He glanced behind his daughter, and was surprised that no one had followed.
"What about Roy? I heard he escaped too? Gordon asked.
Barbara hesitated for a moment and said, "He's tracking down the Joker in his own way, and all the other cops." You also know that things are bad, the Joker manipulates a lot of Gotham police officers, and whatever he wants to do, it's not going to be good"
Gordon shook his head again and again, and tried to stand up with one hand on the bed: "No, no, no, this won't work. The clown is too dangerous for him to do alone. I have to go and help him. β
"No, you're not going to do it, Dad." Barbara hurriedly took her father's hand, which was trembling from exertion, and said, "The doctor said that although you arrived in time, you still need to rest. Toxins put a lot of strain on your nervous system, so your body may be a little sluggish in receiving nerve signals from your brain."
"Okay, okay, high-achieving student, you know that your father doesn't understand, and deliberately scares me with this kind of professional thing." Gordon lay back on the bed and sighed, "Well, at least for this time, we still have 'him' to rely on." β
Barbara knew that her father was referring to Batman.
Barbara smiled and said, "Maybe it's not just Batman?" Give Roy a little more trust, and I'm sure he can handle it too. β
Gotham Bank.
How arrogant can a bank robbery be?
As if to answer this question head-on, a truck crashed through a roadside fence in broad daylight and slammed into the Gotham Bank at a speed of more than forty yards per hour. The unsuspecting patrons were hit and killed, two wounded, and three poor fellows stabbed to death by glass slag at 40 yards per hour.
Piercing sirens sounded rhythmically. The Joker jumps out of the driver's seat of the truck and deliberately steps to the rhythm of the siren, as if this is the accompaniment that sounded specifically for him.
Large containers dragged behind the truck bounced off, and officers neatly dressed in police uniforms, with white oil paint on their faces and a death smile painted on their lips that resembled clowns, jumped off one by one.
As if they had already been assigned their jobs, they quickly rushed to their posts.
One of the officers pointed his gun at the security camera in the hall, but the clown suddenly stopped him.
"Relax, we don't need to. I've changed my mind, maybe it's more fun to keep it on for monitoring. β
The officer nodded, put away his gun, and walked away.
The clown picks up a can of spray paint for graffiti, stands on tiptoe and spews a smile at the camera in the corner, admiring his masterpiece for a moment before laughing triumphantly.
"Who's in charge?" He turned around and shouted in a loud voice.
Lying motionless on the ground, a man in a suit and tie trembled and stretched out his hand.
"Ahh That's you! β
Without going through the normal questioning process of a bank robber, he shot the gentleman through the left leg without saying a word.
"Ahh With a scream, the manager fell to the ground, holding his leg and curled into a ball.
The clown crouched down and lifted the manager's face with his purple gloved hand on his chin and held his other hand to his forehead.
"Now, let's get into the old clichΓ©." The clown asked, "Vault password, be honest and I'll promise not to break your other leg." β
β628548οΌβ The manager couldn't wait.
"Boys, do you hear me?" The clown asked aloud.
The officer on the other side of the vault entered the code, and the door of the vault clicked open.
"That's right, sir." The other side responded.
"Oh, I just like honest people, congratulations on just saving your other leg."
After the clown finished speaking, a gunshot rang out, and the bullet pierced the poor guy's head.
"They're all getting a little bit quicker, boys. We probably only have two to three minutes before we get unwanted attention. The clown shouted, and walked towards the vault with his hands behind his back like an inspector.
A police officer standing on the second floor, looking down with a sniper rifle in his hand, did not notice the black figure falling silently behind him.
Without a word, the Winged Knight took down the sniper in two moves, using the fence on the second floor to cover the cat's waist.
There are two people patrolling the staircase on the first floor, both of them are constantly moving, and there will be about five to eight seconds of back-to-back every thirty seconds, and the vision of both sides is independent of each other. In other words, this is a time when each other is not looking after each other's backs.
It was for more than five seconds that the Winged Knight jumped from the second floor over the fence to the middle of the stairs, and the dart with the anesthetic whirled around towards the person who was walking down, and at the same time, he grabbed the neck of the person who was going up with his wrist from behind.
The two of them were quickly dealt with again, but this time the sound of the anesthetically infected guy rolling down the stairs finally reminded everyone of the fact that someone had invaded.
The clown poked his head out: "What? That bat came so fast? Feed! Bat? Did you happen to be picking up girls in the cafΓ© next door? β
There was no response, and not a single ghost was in sight. The rest of the people all spontaneously shrank and moved closer to the position of the old clown.
If the enemy is too concentrated, it will not be suitable to attack one by one. The winged knight, hidden behind the chandelier in the ceiling, spotted a gap in the positions where several people were standing, jumped down, and landed impartially in the middle of the gap. In a lightning flash, he had quickly put down the two of them.
"Haha! It's you! I'm glad to see your movements get ahead of the old bat again. The clown cried out for joy.
And rightfully so. When the Gotham police station rushed out, Roy had already left a tracker on the Joker's body, and immediately followed the signal after going back to change his equipment, and then found that the Joker had stuffed a group of police officers into a big truck and swaggered and robbed.
However, the number of police officers manipulated by him was obviously far more than that, and many more were not brought.
Roy ignores him and concentrates on dealing with the clown officers who rush up from all directions and beat him up. The Winged Knight was extremely brave, and he was surrounded by so many enemies without losing the slightest moment. In three moves, a person fell, and the number of clown police officers around him quickly decreased.
The Joker tried his best to aim at the Winged Knight and fired two shots, both of which wounded the two innocent police officers who were being manipulated.
Seeing that there were fewer and fewer miscellaneous fish around the Winged Knight, the Joker also seemed to feel that the situation was not good. He shouted, "Hold on!" Guys! After that, he rushed back into the vault with a large bag of money.
It looked like he was trying to lock himself in the vault.
Roy caught a glimpse of the situation out of the corner of his eye, and although he didn't know what he wanted to do, it was always right to stop him first. He threw an officer in front of him with an over-the-shoulder fall, and threw a folding batrang in the direction of the vault. The dart jammed into the crack of the door where the vault was about to close, preventing it from closing completely.
Putting down the last two remaining around him as quickly as possible, Roy rushed to the vault, pulling open the heavy metal door with one hand, only to see a huge gift box with a height of a man behind him, and a Q version of the exaggerated clown smiling face printed in front of him, letting out a strange laugh.
"Not good!"
The moment this thought came to him, Roy hurriedly turned around and pounced, and the gift box exploded almost at the same moment as he made this action, and the powerful wave of air slammed the heavy door open and slammed against the wall, making a dull loud noise.
Roy got up and looked into the vault, only to see a huge hole in the ground, with sewer pipes leading in all directions, and it would be difficult to chase the clown down.
There is no doubt that such an exit could not have been blown up in a short period of time, and it must have been prepared before Roy arrived.
Once again, the Joker escaped.
