Chapter 164: The Roman Doge

Jesus added: "In any case, as a father, I want to ask you to take care of my wife and my unborn child, which is one of my greatest fears. ”

After saying this, Jesus stood up and said, "This is the end of supper, go back and rest." ”

Peter asked worriedly, "What about you being arrested?" ”

Jesus said: "What is destined by fate will happen, and even if I avoid it today, it will happen tomorrow." Don't panic, everyone, this is God's arrangement, and no one can change it. ”

When Jesus sent everyone out of the gate, Judas saw several figures shaking in the darkness, and he wanted to say goodbye to Jesus, but his cowardice stopped him.

Then Jesus opened his arms and smiled at Judas and said, "Why? Don't want to kiss me as a Passover blessing? ”

Judas suddenly felt that Jesus was extremely tall at this time, and the shape of the cross seemed to indicate something, and he suddenly felt some regret for his actions, but he had already taken the money, and he had to fulfill his promise.

He leaned over and kissed Jesus on the cheek, an act that was obvious enough to be seen by the clergy in the shadows.

Just after the disciples dispersed, a member of the clergy appeared before Jesus. Jesus was not at all alarmed by their coming.

He calmly asked, "Are you from Jerusalem?" ”

The priest nodded and said, "Yes, Jesus, we have come to arrest you by order of the chief priests." ”

Jesus said, "But the clergy of Judaism do not have the right to arrest people. ”

The priest smiled and said, "If I explain it to you in another way, it is that our chief priest has invited you to go." ”

Jesus nodded and said, "So that I finally have the opportunity to have a conversation with him." ”

Jesus did not resist, he was almost tied up and was taken from the residential area by the clergy, and Magdalene and Maria rushed out to prevent the clergy from taking Jesus.

Jesus said to his mother and wife, "Let me go, it is my destiny." ”

Magdalene said, "You will die." ”

Jesus smiled and said, "This is also my destiny." ”

With that, Jesus let go of Magdalene's hand and let the clergy take him away.

Two days later, Jesus returned to Jerusalem, this time as a prisoner, and also met with the chief priests of Judaism.

At this time, the two men looked at each other, the chief priest sitting on a high chair, and Jesus standing barefoot in shackles.

The chief priests looked at Jesus triumphantly and asked, "You have finally surrendered." ”

Jesus raised his head and said, "I have come to speak to you." ”

The chief priests asked, "What do you want to tell me?" ”

Jesus said, "Do you not intend to bow down to us who are going to bow down to him, and he will guide you into the kingdom of heaven, when the old age is gone, and the new age is coming, and God will take care of us people?" ”

The chief priests cried, "Don't you forget where you are standing at this moment? This temple is the dwelling place of God, and every time I communicate with God and give to the world in his place, do you want to create another god to fight against me? ”

Jesus said, "You are right, this was the dwelling place of God, the temple that God taught Moses and the Israelites to build when God made a covenant with Moses. But what have you done over the years? Have you really communicated with God? Have you really been instructed by God, or are you enslaving the poor people in God's name? ”

"Presumptuous!" The chief priests shouted, "Jesus, watch what you say and do!" Don't forget who you're talking to. ”

Jesus asked, "Be careful what you say and do, I am the Son of God and the Messiah of this world, and you must be careful when you speak to me." ”

"This guy is simply crazy!" The man next to the chief priest exclaimed, "How dare you speak like this?" ”

"Or maybe he's a liar like his mother!" Someone said again.

Jesus said, "God has forsaken you, noble men, but he still loves the poor and those who believe in him." You have broken your oath and surrendered your souls to the devil. ”

"Shut up!" The chief priests interrupted Jesus and said angrily, "What kind of people we are is not something you can do casually, but God's good is above all else, and it cannot be changed." ”

"I'm afraid it's your interests that put it above all else." Jesus retorted, "Isn't it the dirtiest thing to bind souls in the name of God?" ”

The chief priests stood up and pointed at Jesus and said, "Put him in a cell and hand him over to-morrow to Pilate, the governor of Rome, and the Romans will deal with this madman." ”

Jesus was still shouting as he was dragged away by the clergy: "Justice is coming, and the Father will come again to earth to drive out all evil and restore light to this world!" ”

The next day, Jesus was taken to the Roman Doge's palace in Jerusalem by the Jewish clergy in chains.

The Roman governor has recently been troubled by a situation in which many Messiahs, saviors, have sprung up in the land, all of whom have the same characteristics of collecting wealth in the name of God, harming the people, and even organizing armed rebellions in an attempt to overthrow Roman rule in the land.

Pilate sent Roman legions to conquer these popular religious organizations on several occasions, and although they were all victorious, the intricacies of the Roman emperor's edicts forced him to be vigilant in case of contingencies.

On this morning, the Jewish clergy brought in an unkempt Israelite in chains, and Pilate had just eaten breakfast and was sitting behind a large table with a burp as the treasurer explained the financial report for the month.

He had already seen the clergyman peeking out the door, and knew that the priest of the temple had come to trouble him again, so he pretended not to see it, and continued to squint and stop the treasurer from telling the painful figures.

When the treasurer had finished his work, Pilate saw that the clergyman was still standing outside the door, and knew that he would not be able to hide from the obnoxious Jewish priests to-day, so he sent his treasurer away and called the priest in for questioning.

Pilate asked impatiently, "What happened?" I don't owe you any money this month. ”

The priest said, "Your Excellency, the chief priest has asked me to bring you a prisoner!" ”

"Prisoner?" Pilate said nonchalantly, "Is it a thief?" Just send him to prison, why are you still sending it to me. ”

The priest said, "My lord, he is not a thief, but a man named Jesus, who claims to be the Messiah, the Son of God, and goes around preaching blasphemous false doctrines to deceive the people." ”

When Pilate heard this, he did not dare to slack off, he put down his teacup and said, "Then bring him in, and I will question." ”

When Jesus was brought in, Pilate was not disgusted at the first sight of the young man, for he had personally interrogated several saviors, and the liars were all trembling with fear when they saw him, and they were not at all as imposing as they were in front of his congregation.

But the Jesus in front of him was very strange, he didn't seem to be afraid of himself, his eyes were clear and transparent, there was a faint smile on the corner of his mouth, and his face was very kind, and he couldn't see that he was a deceitful guy at all.

Pilate took the indictment of Jesus handed to him by the priest, read it carefully, and then asked softly, "You have claimed to be the Son of God, the Messiah of the world?" ”

Jesus asked Pilate, "Did you say this yourself, or did they tell you when they discussed me?" ”

Pilate smiled and said, "I am not a Jew, but it was you Jewish priests who gave you over to me to condemn you." What exactly did you do? ”

Jesus impassionedly said, "I am the Messiah, the Son of God, and I am sent by God to save the world." My kingdom does not belong to this world, and if he belongs to this world, then this world will fight for it. ”

Pilate asked, "What is your kingdom?" ”

Jesus continued: "It is the kingdom of heaven, the dwelling place of God, full of angels and creatures that man has never seen before, and he is on the snowy mountain, which no mortal can see. ”

Pilate looked at Jesus' indictments again, and he called the magistrate to check whether the Nazareth-born Jesus had any criminal record. The magistrate's reply was that Jesus was a law-abiding citizen who even paid his taxes on time, including those taxes that the local tax collectors had devised in the name of.

Pilate had a little more affection for this Jesus, he admired Jesus' courage, if he was indeed a liar, then at least a courageous liar, Pilate, who was born in a soldier, was very sure of Jesus' courage. (To be continued.) )
