Chapter 18: The Ghost Monk 1

After walking out of Ba'an, Grandpa and Li Gui parted ways.

Li Gui wanted to return to Guizhou as soon as possible, and his grandfather changed his route to Mount Emei, one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China.

The four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism are Wutai Mountain in Shanxi, Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, Emei Mountain in Sichuan, and Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui, known as "Golden Wutai, Silver Putuo, Copper Emei, Iron Jiuhua", respectively, to worship Manjushri Bodhisattva, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Fuxian Bodhisattva, and Dizang Bodhisattva.

Grandpa came out this time to travel to the famous mountains and rivers, so naturally he will not let go of Mount Emei. But there's another important reason why he's here. He had a poet he liked very much, named Qi Ji. This Qi Ji mentioned Mount Emei many times in the poem, and very much hoped to visit Emei in person and be haunted by Emei.

Speaking of this Qi Ji, many people don't know, but there is a well-known idiom "the teacher of one word" is from him.

Qi Ji's common surname is Hu, his name is born, and he is a native of Hunan. Monk Qi Ji likes to write poems very much, and he writes very well, so he can be regarded as a so-called poetic monk. He had a good friend, Zheng Gu, who was also a poet at the time. Because they all write poetry, they can naturally talk about it.

Once, Qi Ji wrote a poem called "Early Plum", which has these two sentences: "In the deep snow in the front village, a few branches bloomed last night." A few days later, Zheng Gu came to visit the door. Monk Qi Ji said to him, "I wrote a poem, how about you show me?" Zheng Gu watched it for a long time and said: "The writing is good, the artistic conception is very good, and the sentiment is also very high." But there is one point, what you wrote is early plum, in the deep snow in the front village, a few branches bloomed last night. Early plum is the plum blossom that blooms early, and generally does not open a few branches, but a few branches are a piece, and I think a few branches should be changed to one. In the deep snow in the front village, a branch bloomed last night, which makes it seem that this plum blossom is an early blooming plum blossom. ”

When Monk Qi Ji heard this, he respectfully bowed to Zheng Gu and said, "Good change!" You're really my master. "Because Zheng Gu only proposed a one-word revision, but he can be called a teacher, so he is called a one-word teacher.

Grandpa not only admired Qi Ji's poems well, but also admired his mind. In his later years, my grandfather often used to use a brush to copy Qi Ji's poems. For example, "the poetry is good in physics, and the Tao can be glimpsed by sitting in the heavenly machine", "the fun is extremely obsessed, and the ghosts do not know" and other esoteric poems, due to the edification of my grandfather, my grandfather and mother can recite it horizontally.

According to his grandfather, it is a pity that Qi Ji still failed to climb Mount Emei in the end, and when he wanted to go to Mount Emei in his later years, he was retained by a prince and failed to realize his lifelong wish.

Grandpa was very excited when he arrived at Mount Emei and took a look at the famous attractions and temples in Emei. In addition, my grandfather visited the monks all over the world, and talked with the monks all night, saying that Zen and Buddhism, astronomy and geography, everything.

I questioned my father's experience. Although I don't read martial arts novels very much, I was once obsessed with martial arts movies and TV series. In the martial arts world, the Emei faction is all nuns, and I have never seen the Emei faction and male monks.

Later, I learned that there are monks in Mount Emei, and there are quite a few of them.

Grandpa stayed in Mount Emei for half a month.

On the last night, my father went to the elephant washing pool. That night happened to be the fifteenth, and the moon was the fullest, which was the best time to enjoy the elephant washing pool. Grandpa stood next to the elephant washing pond, raised his eyes and looked around, the clouds and fog converged, the sky was blue, the mountains were silent, and the autumn breeze was cool. The bright moon, round as a dish, hung in the clean and cloudless blue sky, and the heroic fir forest was bleak and whispering. The moonlight filtered through the dense dark green jungle, as if it had been sifted through a sieve. Daxiong Palace, Half Moon Platform, Elephant Washing Pool, Chuxi Pavilion, Yinyue Tower, immersed in the hazy moonlight, appear solemn, elegant and quiet. Under the moonlight, the ancient temple resembles an elephant's head, with a clear silhouette against the blue sky; The main hall is like a forehead, the wings on both sides are like ears, and the stone steps under the half-moon platform are like a long elephant trunk.

Just as Grandpa was immersed in the beautiful scenery of the good day, a squeaky cry suddenly sounded.

Grandpa looked at the source of the sound that had ruined the atmosphere, and saw a spirit monkey waving at him, as if to call him over.

There are a lot of spirit monkeys on Mount Emei, and they are not afraid of people, so Grandpa is not surprised and does not pay attention to it.

But the monkey did not give up, and actually walked up to his father, grabbed him by his shirt, and dragged him down a path, as if to take him somewhere.

If he was somewhere else, Grandpa would naturally have an extra mind, so as not to be deceived by the illusion of spirits. But Mount Emei is an important place of Buddhism, and it is estimated that the ghosts and spirits dare not be presumptuous here, so Grandpa simply let the spirit monkey lead the way and followed it on the mountain path.

Strange to say, when the spirit monkey saw him follow, he let go of his clothes, led the way in front, helped the tree to climb the branches, and jumped up and down, like an unenlightened child.

Grandpa thought to himself, he went to all the places that people from Mount Emei could go, but the place where the spirit monkey was a guide was not necessarily something that everyone could go. Tonight, follow the spirit monkey to visit Mount Emei at night, maybe there will be another strange scene that ordinary people can't see, right? People are born with the most spirituality, but after entering the world, they gradually become worldly and dirty, chasing fame and fortune, and becoming less and less spiritual. Coupled with the eclipse of grains and grains, the purity of the body is destroyed, so that the eyes, nose, ears, and mouth are deaf beetles, which are not as good as when they were born. Although animals are born with a far less spiritual spirit than humans, they have a single mind and a pure soul, and their eyes, nose, ears and mouth are increasingly evolving in the process of survival, and they are extremely sensitive, so their sensitivity to certain things is far beyond that of ordinary people.

Think about it again, the spider who is often influenced by incense in the Buddhist hall can also become a Buddha, and the incense tripod that is often worshiped by people in Taoism can also drive away evil spirits and avoid ghosts. Therefore, it is not known that the place where this spirit monkey is going to take me is the paradise where they practice.

If I can dye half of the immortal aura in the holy land of the spirit monkey, and meet the weak king or freeze to death in the future, they will not dare to come close to me?

Such a quiet night has made people infinitely reverie, and with this humane spirit monkey jumping up and down in front of him, Grandpa's thoughts were uncontrollable for a while, and he was cranky.

The mountain road became more and more difficult to walk, but the speed of the spirit monkey became faster and faster. Grandpa gradually felt physically exhausted and his steps were slow.

"Wait for me!" Daddy grabbed the branch on the side of the road and barely supported his body, and shouted to the spirit monkey leading the way in front. Grandpa thought to himself, since he waved at me like a scholar and tugged at my clothes, he should also understand human language.

But the spirit monkey used both hands and feet, walking like flying, without stopping at all.

Dad had to grit his teeth to catch up. He has kung fu comparable to a cat's feet, but how can he outrun a spirit monkey? The monkey was getting farther and farther away from him.

I don't know how long I ran, but the spirit monkey turned around and disappeared.

Daddy chased to the place where the spirit monkey disappeared, looked left and right, and there was no trace of the spirit monkey.

Grandpa waited in place for a long time, but he didn't see the spirit monkey come back.

Could it be that this spirit monkey is just teasing me? Grandpa was puzzled.

Fortunately, the scenery of this fresh place is also good, and my grandfather forgot about the spirit monkey and walked around at will, looking at the scenery while walking. Inadvertently, Daddy looked up and saw that the bright moon, which had just been full and full, was now only half of it. Grandpa thought it was a branch covering him and took a few steps forward. But the moon is still half a moon. At this time, the sky is cloudless, and it is unlikely that the other half is obscured by clouds.

After coming to Mount Emei, my father heard the old monk say that Mount Emei has a saying that there is a yin and a yang world. There is a yin and yang world on the halfway of Mount Emei, which is called the yang world below and the underworld above. If a man stands in Hades and hears the thunder, but does not see a drop of rain. But at this moment, the sun is stormy.

The old monk only mentioned the theory of yin and yang, but did not mention the difference between the full moon and the half moon.

Could it be that Emei already had such a strange scene, but the old monk forgot to tell me? Or maybe this kind of wonder is only known to the spirit monkey, and ordinary people can't find it even if they live in Mount Emei for a lifetime? Grandpa looked at the half moon in the sky and was full of doubts.

Before I knew it, my father walked to a hole. The vine is planted upside down, and it is next to the cliff. The entrance of the cave is in the shape of a "human" and is about four meters high. The cave was pitch black and slightly eerie.

Creak......

The voice of the spirit monkey actually came out of the cave.

Grandpa was shocked, could it be that the spirit monkey wanted me to go into the cave? So, my grandfather went into the hole in the dark.

After entering the cave, his eyes gradually adjusted, and he could barely see the walls of the cave through the moonlight coming in from outside. There is a stone bed in the cave, which looks like someone once lived here.

The voice of the Spirit Monkey came from deeper.

Daddy walked across the stone bed and went deeper. He thought to himself, anyway, there is moonlight shining, just follow the direction of the light later, and he should not get lost.

After walking inside for a while, Grandpa heard the voice of the spirit monkey coming from a deeper place. So Daddy continued to ∵ two or three miles, and the hole became smaller and smaller, allowing only one person to bend over and walk∵ until Daddy thought that his body could no longer shrink, and the hole grew bigger and wider.

I don't know how long I walked like this, and my father suddenly heard the sound of running water, which was so unpleasant. Grandpa looked down and saw that there was a small stream of water at his feet, which should have seeped out of the underground river.

As we continued to walk, the hole became wider and wider, and the current became larger and larger, until it finally became a small river. The river roared. The river is lined with white sand, colorful pebbles, and the occasional skull of a sphorescent beast. The light grew more and more abundant, as if there was a larger hole in front of it, where more moonlight was shining in.

Further on, the white sand was gone, and a lot of moss and green grass grew by the river; The colorful hungry pebbles are gone, and there are small stone benches by the river for people to rest; The skeleton of the sphorescent beast was gone, and the squeaking of monkeys could be heard. At this time, it was no longer the cry of a single monkey, but the cry of many monkeys one after another.

Looking at the walls of the cave on both sides, they have disappeared. It's too big to see the edges.

Did I come out? Grandpa was puzzled.

At this time, it was too far to go back the same way, so Grandpa simply continued to walk forward, hoping to meet someone and ask where this was and how to go back.

After walking for more than two miles, my grandfather finally saw a small pavilion, in which an old monk was writing with a pen. The old monk's beard was silver but his face was red, and he wore a simple monk's robe and coarse cloth monk's boots.
