Chapter 161: Miracles

Led by Peter, the crowd gathered around Jesus and cheered, shouting, "Great Christ, Messiah of Israel, Son of God, who is the Teacher who has come to save mankind." ”

More people gathered around him, because they all saw the miracle that Jesus had just performed, and they all bowed down at His feet and begged for blessings.

Jesus cried out, "God is justifial and loving, and they love each one of you, and if you believe in Him, He will bless you." Wherever you go, please bring God's will to the four directions, so that more people will know the existence of God, the existence of the Kingdom of Heaven, and as long as you believe in God, you will be able to live and enter the Kingdom of Heaven. ”

At noon, Jesus returned home, and he saw his mother Mary sitting at the door, sighing, and counting the few copper plates in her old palms.

He stepped forward and asked, "Mother, what's wrong with you?" ”

Maria looked up at Jesus and said, "Matthew, the tax collector, came here and told me that I had to pay taxes again." ”

Peter asked, "What is the tax called?" ”

"I have two more lambs in my house this month, so I have to pay taxes again," says Maria. ”

With a wave of his hand, Peter said, "These abominable lackeys of the Romans! It's even more vicious than the Romans. The Romans only had a fixed amount of taxes every year, but these local tax collectors always made us pay more taxes, and all the excess went into their pockets, which was a robbery! ”

Accord also said, "You must not let them continue in this way, my master, you are the son of God, and you should be able to perform miracles to kill Matthew, an abominable man, and such a man must not let him go to heaven as well, he should go to hell." ”

Peter said, "Never hand over a copper plate, never." ”

Jesus silently lifted Mary up and walked out the door with her mother. Peter asked, "My master, where are you going?" ”

Jesus looked back and smiled and said, "Go and pay the taxes!" ”

Peter was furious and roared, "My master, you are conniving at those bad people, you are the Son of God, and you cannot bend your waist like this." ”

Facing Peter's atmosphere, Jesus calmly said, "Why don't you pay taxes?" The tax collector represents power, but also the law. Although this law may seem harsh, as a good person and a good person who follows good love, you must not speak lightly of killing. I want to lead by example. Matthew, the tax collector, had sinned, but he could be influenced, and if he was willing to accept God's call, he could also enter heaven. ”

Peter asked, "What are you doing this for?" ”

Jesus said, "He who preaches good love, first of all, cannot sin, for if he is at fault, and I go and kill him, then I have sinned." I would never have done that. ”

With that, Jesus continued to carry his mother out of the house, and across the streets he came to the house of Matthew, the tax collector. At this moment, the fat Matthew was sitting in front of the door, with a bulging bag of money at his feet, waiting for the people who came to pay the taxes.

When Matthew saw Maria's arrival, he smiled and said, "Old woman, you finally want to open and pay your taxes?" ”

Jesus gave Matthew a few brass plates and said, "Yes, I came with my mother to pay the taxes. ”

Matthew looked at Jesus earnestly and asked, "You are Jesus, the one who claims to be the Son of God?" ”

Jesus earnestly corrected Matthew's words and said, "I am Jesus, and I am not claiming to be the Son of God, but I am the Son of God." ”

Matthew laughed and said, "It doesn't matter if you claim to be a god, as long as you pay your taxes, that's fine." ”

Jesus asked Matthew, "Seeing that your dwelling is so luxurious, are you still not satisfied?" ”

Matthew's face changed, he waved his hand and said, "It has nothing to do with you, I warn you Jesus, it is better not to challenge me, the Roman tax collector, with your theories, or you will be in big trouble." ”

Jesus said, "Why can't you, too, be Israelite, believe in God?" We Israelites were once favored by God, who sent the great prophet Moses to lead us out of Egypt and into Jerusalem. ”

Matthew suddenly stood up and shouted, "I don't care if God is not God, all I need in my eyes is gold coins, and gold coins are my God!" ”

Jesus said, "But when you die, you will not take any of the coins with you, but the weight of them will drag you to hell." ”

Matthew said, "Well, you say that God exists, that you are the Son of God, then please prove it to me." ”

Jesus asked, "How do you want me to prove it to you?" ”

Matthew turned his head and saw that a blacksmith in the next house had just died of his son, and the body was stopping at the door, and the family was crying around the corpse, Matthew said: "The son of the blacksmith family is sick and dead, and you say that you are the son of God, so you must be able to resurrect him?" Then you can prove it to me, and if you do, I will believe you. ”

Jesus also saw the blacksmith's family weeping for their dead son, and he ignored Matthew, turned around and came to the door of the blacksmith's house, and asked the blacksmith, "How did this child die?" ”

The blacksmith wiped away his tears and said, "My poor boy, he went out to play this morning and accidentally fell into the well and drowned. ”

Jesus nodded and said, "A poor child indeed." ”

After saying this, Jesus put his hand on the child's stiff body and said, "Gracious Father, please hear my call, this child is sinless and should not die so prematurely, please give him the grace to stop wandering around, let him come back here, return to this cold body, open his eyes, and let him be reunited with his family again for eternity." ”

When Jesus finished reading the last word, the body of the child lying on the ground suddenly trembled, and everyone around him was frightened to retreat, except for Jesus, who remained calm and continued to meditate.

Eventually, the child breathed a sigh of relief, slowly opened his eyes, saw Jesus, smiled and said, "Thank you, Jesus, for giving me a second life." ”

Caressing the warmer body, Jesus said to the child, "Live well, and don't grieve your parents." ”

When the blacksmith and his wife saw their son come back to life, they all threw themselves into their arms and cried, but this time all the tears that came out of the corners of their eyes were happy tears.

Jesus stood up and looked at Matthew in the distance, and Matthew was almost opening his mouth so wide that he continued, and not only him, but all the people who witnessed it all did not believe that this miraculous thing had happened.

Ignoring Matthew, Jesus returned home with his mother, Mary, in his arms.

That night, Matthew came, and as soon as he entered the door, he knelt at Jesus' feet and said, "My master, forgive me for all that I have done, and ask me to forgive my sins by God, that I will never again be greedy, that I will no longer commit many sins, and that I will serve you with all my heart. I will give back all my ill-gotten gains to the poor! ”

Jesus said, "I don't need you to serve me, but since you have seen me do miracles and are willing to follow me, please pay the tax to the Roman governor here according to Roman law, and return the rest of the money to their original owner." ”

Matthew said, "But the money you asked me to hand over was also the ill-gotten gain of the Romans to exploit the Israelites. ”

Jesus said: "I am preaching, I am not sinning, I do not want to be a condemned person, and I must preach my morality within the limits of law, and not a riot in flagrant defiance of the law." ”

Matthew threw himself at Jesus' admiration and said, "My master, I understand, and I will do as you instruct." ”

"And!" Jesus continued: "You have to influence those around you with your actions to come to me, to follow God with me, and to discover the way to heaven. ”

At that moment, the door was crowded with Israelites who had come to see Jesus, and they all cowered when they saw Jesus. But Jesus smiled and beckoned to everyone, saying, "Come in, all of you, all of my followers, and we are equal." ”

All the people accepted the call and went into the house, listening attentively as Jesus told them stories about the kingdom of heaven and God, all of which were written in the parchment book that Yang Rui had given him, and the crowd listened in fascination.

As Jesus continued to preach, he suddenly spotted a pair of bright eyes in the crowd. (To be continued.) )
