Chapter Twenty-Nine: General Wu Si (1)
We all know what happened later, Lao Zhao and Old Man Zhang brought the seal out of the tomb of the Ming prince, along with a jade pendant of double dragons playing with pearls. There is also a large number of words in the stele, which are used to sing praises to General Wu Si, which is not difficult to see on every tombstone, no matter what the deceased did in his lifetime, good things are written on the tombstone and infinitely exaggerated, and bad things are few words or not mentioned at all.
For example, in this inscription, it is written that General Wu Si won a hundred battles during his lifetime and never had a record of defeat, so he was also known as the victorious general, and he also led the Mongolian cavalry to fight the basilisk in the northern jungle, and finally defeated the basilisk and captured a large number of snake members, and tamed them, ordering them to guard their tombs. I can't help but feel funny when I see this, the so-called snake clan members captured should be the python in the tomb we passed by when we first came in, as for the basilisk, it is estimated that it is a large python, which is demonized here to highlight the divine martial arts of General Wu Si. This exaggeration can also be seen in the reliefs on the previous stone doors and in the frescoes in the revolving burial chambers.
I had checked the books on the history of the Yuan Dynasty in the library before, but there was no mention of this so-called General Wu Si in that book, I asked Lao Zhao Ke if he knew a thing or two about this person, Lao Zhao also shook his head when he heard it, and said: "This General Wu Si is almost not recorded in the history books, because the era in which he lived The Yuan Dynasty has withdrawn from the Central Plains and returned to Mobei, and he has fallen into many contradictions within himself. Only some clues can be found from some wild histories. ”
"What about Noshi?" I didn't give up and continued to ask.
Lao Zhao raised his head, thoughtfully, and said: "If you want to say that the title of General Wu Si has not been mentioned in the wild history, but there is a prince of the Northern Yuan Dynasty, who was mentioned in the wild history of the early Ming Dynasty, this person has great powers, calls for wind and rain, and can always win unexpectedly in the battle with the Ming army, the Ming people call him the White Devil King, and there is one thing about this White Devil King in the wild history. "Lao Zhao talked about the White Devil King, and he couldn't stop talking, and told us the legendary story of the White Devil King little by little.
It is recorded in the wild history that the mother of the White Devil King was the princess of a prince at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, and once the prince and the princess returned to Mobei together, and when they passed by a mountain, they were surrounded by wolves. Because he just returned to Mobei and did not go out to fight, there were not many soldiers with him, but they still fought to the death with the wolves, and they were helplessly outnumbered, and the few soldiers were either bitten to death by the wolves, or bitten and crippled, and lost their combat effectiveness. And the prince was also seriously injured and fell in a pool of blood.
The princess sat in the car and watched what was happening outside, and knew that this time it was a lot of bad luck, so she took out the jeweled short knife she carried with her, and prepared to make a break with the wolf, but after she stabbed the two wolves to death with the knife, she was bitten by the third one on the wrist and could no longer use the short knife. As a last resort, the princess raised her short knife and tried to kill herself, but another wolf pounced on her from behind and threw her to the ground, and the princess, whose head was on the stone, immediately fainted, and when she woke up again, she found herself alone in a wolf's den, and the others were gone.
After the wolves retreated, the wounded prince was able to save his life, but the rest of the entourage soldiers were all killed by the wolves. The prince was riding a horse alone on the mountain road, and met a woodcutter who was collecting firewood, and the woodcutter saw that the man on the horse was covered in blood and was seriously injured, so he invited the prince to his house to temporarily stay and recuperate, and the people in the mountains were more hospitable, but he did not know that this person was the prince of the dynasty.
After the prince arrived at the woodcutter's house, after a few days of recuperation, the body gradually recovered, this day the woodcutter went out and came back, but when he entered the door, he saw that the prince was crying bitterly, and hurriedly asked the reason, the prince said that he and his wife were attacked by wolves, and now his wife's whereabouts are unknown, but he is still alive, and he can't help but be sad, so he cried bitterly, but he did not reveal his identity. When the woodcutter heard this, he was greatly moved, and promised to help the prince find his wife, and the prince became a brother with a different surname with the woodcutter in addition to a thousand thanks. Once this is righteous, it is a matter of his own family, the prince is older as the woodcutter's brother, so the princess is the woodcutter's sister-in-law. The ancients attached great importance to righteousness, and the righteous sister-in-law and the sister-in-law were no different, and it was natural for their brother and sister-in-law to stick a knife in both ribs.
At that moment, the woodcutter contacted a few Orion villagers in the nearby mountains, brought hunting forks and entered the mountains. This was half a month, and the prince gradually became bored in the mountains, unable to find his wife or see the woodcutter, so he had the idea of going out of the mountains and returning to the capital.
Let's say that the woodcutter and his group of hunters, after entering the mountain, searched everywhere for the traces of the wolves, and finally on the twentieth day, they followed a patrolling lone wolf and found the wolf's den.
The location of this wolf's den is very hidden, and by virtue of the terrain, it is easy to defend and difficult to attack. The wolves live in a cave halfway up the mountain, with a high cliff above the cave and an open field in front of the cave, as soon as you walk on this open field, you will immediately be spotted by the wolves in the cave, and if there are many people, the wolves will hide in the cave for a while, or escape through other hidden exits. And now the woodcutters are afraid that they will be exterminated by the wolves, and they also underestimated the strength of the wolves before they came.
They lay in the woods in the distance and secretly observed the situation in the wolf's den, and found that there was a person among the wolves, but he was too far away to see the appearance, and he could only see that the image was a woman. Entrusted with the matter of loyalty, the woodcutter planned to sneak into the wolf's den to find out, and the others continued to ambush as a solution. In order not to be discovered by the wolves, the woodcutter smeared fresh wolf dung mixed with water on his body to block the smell, and lurked near the wolf den when the wolves went out to the cave when there were the least wolves, and finally entered the wolf den smoothly after killing the wolves left behind.
The woodcutter who entered the wolf's den soon found that there was a beautiful woman in the wolf's den, and the woodcutter said that the woman cried and said, "I think that there is no future in this life, but fortunately the heavens have mercy on me, so that I can get out of this calamity." When he was about to get out of the cave, he found that the wolves who had gone out happened to come back, and a tall white wolf led the wolves, and after discovering the abnormality, he was running quickly towards the cave. Then the moonlight, looking at the big white wolf, it was going to be a big circle, the wolf mane on the back of the neck fluttered with the running undulations, a pair of eyes refracted cold light, which made people stand chillingly, and the sturdy limbs were picked up on the ground, raising a thick layer of dust.
The woodcutter knew that he was not an opponent, so he hurriedly pulled the woman back into the cave to find another way out. Fortunately, the princess had lived in the cave for many days and had some understanding of the situation, and the two of them groped their way underground along the rugged cave. At this time, the hunters who were ambushed in the woods sent one back to gather the men, and the rest began to search the mountains for other exits to the wolf's den.
Besides, the woodcutter and the princess evaded the wolves underground, and finally reached the exit after hardships and dangers. The woodcutter was the first to crawl out of the hole, stretched out his hand to pull out the princess, and just as he thought he had successfully escaped, he saw a flash of white light, and the big white wolf from the infant threw the woodcutter to the ground, and opened his mouth to bite. The woodcutter knew that his life could not be saved, and he only hated that he had not succeeded in bringing his sister-in-law back, but he saw the princess kneeling on the ground, losing her voice in pain, and kept kowtowing to plead for the woodcutter.
Seeing that the princess was in pain, the big white wolf hesitated, and gradually let go of the wolf claws that pressed on the woodcutter's body, and in this hesitation, the woodcutter rose up and stabbed the white wolf in the chest, and the white wolf was bleeding like a torrent of blood. The woodcutter wanted to make up a few more knives and stab the white wolf to death, but was stopped by the princess, "Don't hurt again, we think it's a blessing to get out, let's spare his life." The princess said to the woodcutter. The woodcutter originally planned to skin the white wolf, but the sister-in-law spoke, and it was not good for her to disobey, and the white wolf had arrived, and the rest of the estimates would not be far away, so it was important to flee for her life first. The woodcutter pulled his sister-in-law, but saw that the princess said that he had taken off a jade bracelet in his hand and put it in front of the white wolf, so he fled with the woodcutter, and not far after escaping, he met other hunters, and the group fled down the mountain.
What happened to the white wolf, the story does not mention it, only that after the woodcutter went home, he saw that the house was empty, and the prince couldn't wait, so he had gone back to Dadu alone, and left a note before leaving, saying that he would definitely come back.
When the righteous brother left, the woodcutter let the princess live in his own house and went to the neighbor's house to help. The princess was greatly moved by the woodcutter's righteousness, and the woodcutter at this time still didn't know the identities of the princess and the prince, and thought that they were ordinary people.
After another half a month, the prince who returned to Dadu returned to the mountains and forests with a large army, and then the woodcutter knew his true identity, and quickly kowtowed to apologize, and the prince smiled and helped him up, saying: "Our brothers, why do you need to do this great gift." To the prince's surprise, the princess was also rescued, and she regarded the woodcutter as a benefactor even more. The prince planned to let the woodcutter go back to the capital with him, but the woodcutter refused the prince's invitation, saying that he was a mountain village man and was not suitable for living in the metropolis.
In addition to repaying the woodcutter's life-saving grace when the prince came back this time, there was also revenge. The object of revenge is the crowd that attacked them in the first place. The next day, the prince was led by his brother, with a large army, and rushed to the wolf's den, and when he arrived at the wolf's den, he found that the wolf had already gone to the nest. The prince, who was unwilling to stop there, sent people into the cave to search every inch, but he didn't find a single wolf. The angry prince ordered someone to set a fire, turning the wolf's den into a sea of fire, although the wolves were not found, but destroying their nest can be regarded as a consolation.
After doing these things, the prince returned to Dadu with the troops, but half a year later, a strange thing happened.
