Knights of the Silver Hand
The Silver Hand is an organization founded by Archbishop Alonthos Fao of the Light in World War II to worship the Way of Light. Despite its name, the Knights are not just Paladins, but also many priests, warriors, rangers, and even a handful of mages and scouts as thieves, in fact, the Silver Hand welcomes anyone who is willing to follow the teachings and precepts of the Light.
Uther made "Esarus Thar No Darador" (ByBloodAndHonorWeServe) the slogan of the Order (a slogan that is still recited today). So he named the knights of the Knights of the Silver Hand Paladins.
After the formation of the Order, many of the best human knights of Lordaeron came to visit, including Tulayan and Tirio. Fordin. Uther was attacked by the nobles of the Kingdom of Alterac on his way to Darrowmere Lake, revealing a conspiracy that Alterac had betrayed the Alliance.
It is worth mentioning that, compared to the defective King Perynod of Alterac, the knights of the Silver Hand did their best to assist Lothar (the Supreme Commander of the Alliance) in their efforts even when the Orcs invaded Lordaeron and the morale of the Alliance army was low.
After the death of Lothar, the Silver Hand served as a banner of the Alliance, and continued to fight under the leadership of the paladins Tulayan and Uther, and the inspired Alliance forces finally captured the Blackstone Tower. Later, the coalition defeated Orgrim in the heart of the Swamp of Sorrows, and the Clan's Burning Blade Clan was wiped out in the Scorching Gorge by the Knights.
In the years following the Second Orc War, Uther continued to act as a staunch knight and guardian of the people, focusing the people and debates over more heated matters on any creature that posed a threat. As he became one of the most elite of the remaining paladins, he began to counsel Prince Arthas, Terenas' talented son, with the power of light. They became good friends and got to know each other like family.
When the turmoil to defend Strahnbrad against being attacked by traitors from the Blackstone clan who were being captured began, Arthas joined the Silver Hand, and Uther was honored for it. The group of orcs was led by the deadly Jubei'Thos. While Arthas defended the town, Uther took out the orcs who had set up camp. With the help of Uther, Arthas managed to smash the camp and temporarily repelled Jubiters. Together with Jaina, Arthas investigates the plague-stricken area and protects the delivery of grain and grass from the rear.
During the investigation, he discovered that the Cursed Sect and the plague had infiltrated the food to send the relief, so he decided to pursue the grain truck. When they reached the Valley of the Hearth, they found that the wagon had arrived at Andorhar, and Gianna teleported away from Hearthglen to inform Uther. Arthas came to Andorhar and found that most of the people in the town had eaten the relief food and had become undead.
After a skirmish, Arthas found that the army of the undead had been pressed from the west and east, so Arthas led his men to stubbornly defend the position until every wall tile of Andohar collapsed, almost all the offensive was broken, and Arthas was fighting with his subordinates for life and death, Uther and the Knights of the Silver Hand rushed from the distant Hand of Tyre camp to support, and the army of the undead retreated.
Frightened by the near-defeat, Alsace was humiliated and distraught, and immediately decided to continue his pursuit of the plague grain cart to the outskirts of Stratholme. Uther followed him, and they discovered that the city of Strathorm had been infected with the plague. Arthas knew what this meant, and ordered Uther to begin the "cleansing" of the city.
Uther soberly refused to carry out the order to slaughter the city, and insisted on his faith, teaching Arthas not to kill them before they died, even if they were enemies of the undead in the battlefield and died as a result. Arthas believed that enough soldiers had died and that no more could be killed in battle to become part of the undead army.
The dispute between the two could not be reconciled, and Uther led his men to leave, and Arthas used this as an excuse to convict Uther of treason as the crown prince and forcefully announced the dissolution of the Knights of the Silver Hand. It is unclear why, but the order to disband the Order was carried out well, and the members of the Silver Hand Knights were forced to leave their training grounds and garrisons, some to join Lordaeron's army, and some to return to the fields (albeit for a very short time).
In fact, it was because of this disbandment order that Arthas, after becoming an undead knight, returned and killed his biological father, King Tenaris II of Lordaeron. The Scourge was also able to sweep through the territory of Lordaeron in a very short period of time, and the Paladins who fought separately could not stop the tide of the Scourge army, and were finally wiped out one by one.
After the Knights of the Silver Hand were forced to disband, for a long time, the paladins could not gather together in the name of the Silver Hand, and a small number of paladins insisted on secretly assembling in the name of the Silver Hand, and the other paladins, after experiencing the ravages of natural disasters, split into several camps.
The Brotherhood of Light is the earliest organization established by Alonthos Fao to believe in the Light, and the later Knights of the Silver Hand were established on the basis of the structure of the Brotherhood of Light, although Uther was declared treason and the Silver Hand was disbanded, but the Brotherhood of Light has always been the legal organization of the Kingdom of Lordaeron and has not been greatly affected.
But what distinguishes it from the Knights of the Silver Hand is that most of the members of the Brotherhood of Light are devout believers and priests of the Holy Light, and their actual combat effectiveness is not very strong, so in the days when natural disasters are raging, the Brotherhood of Light can only hold on to their base, the Chapel of the Wish of Light, guarding the countless heroic spirits under the chapel.
When the Scourge swept through Lordaeron, with deep hatred and anger for the Scourge Legion, the Grand General Abydis, the High Prosecutor Ethanlien, and the High Lord Mograine jointly established the "Crusaders", which were known as the Scarlet Crusaders because of their bright red blood color.
Initially, the Scarlet Crusaders were successful in their efforts to regain many of the lands held by the Scourge, and even launched a surprise attack on Stratholme, but after the death of the High Lord Mograini at the siege of the Scourge, which proved to be a betrayal and conspiracy, the Crusaders gradually descended into a terrible frenzy, and remained hostile to all races, living or dead, except for the Crusaders.
At first, the actions of the Scarlet Crusaders inspired and attracted many of the original Silver Hand and Lordaeron refugees in the diaspora, but after the Scarlet Crusaders' actions began to change from fanaticism to extremism and madness, some of the sober members realized that continuing this situation would only lead the Scarlet Crusaders to destruction.
After repeated attempts to dissuade them to no avail, they left the Scarlet Crusaders and established the organization "Silver Dawn" based in the Chapel of the Light's Wishes, which welcomed all those who were willing to help them in their eradication of the Scourge, even the Forsaken (the undead), and it was because of this inclusive attitude that the Silver Dawn grew rapidly.
After his beloved son Tyran Fording was killed by the Scarlet Crusader procurator Ethan Lion, an enraged Tirio Fording vowed to bring order back to the land of Lordaeron, secretly re-established the Knights of the Silver Hand, and in the Battle of the Knights of the Ebon Blade, using the power of tens of thousands of Heroic Spirits in the Chapel of Light's Wish, purified the Ember Bringer and repelled the Lich King.
After this, Silver Dawn and the rebuilt Knights of the Silver Hand merged to form the Silver Crusade (also known as the Silver and White Crusade), which crossed the ocean to end the Lich King's reign of terror in Northrend.
