In the original, this is a species that is rarely witnessed and unconfirmed, so there is no scientific name. Its first sightings were of a simple, gigantic species, 176 meters tall, 1,800 meters long, and 176 meters wide, which appeared inside the original lair during the Sakura Campaign, containing a huge amount of BETA. Its sound signal can be heard when the beta is moving underground. When it first appeared, it was named an unidentified large species.

The mothership-class is the least common type of non-nest construction species, one of which was discovered by the A-01 team in the Kashgar nest during Operation Sakura; Two more were seen during the Battle of Seattle during the MUV-LUVTheDayAfter: one was repulsed, and the other was killed by an S-11 device during the battle. In battle, its large size allows it to withstand the fire of battleships, making it the most difficult species to kill.
