Hearing that there was a temple in front of them, Xuanzang and his party rushed there as quickly as possible, but this place seemed to be very different from what they imagined. Pen & Fun & Pavilion www.biquge.info
According to normal people's thoughts, the Buddhist temple does not talk about whether there are high monks, but no matter how you say it, it is solemn, after all, this is a place to worship the Buddha.
However, it was clearly inhabited by people, but even the plaque on the gate was covered in dust, so that the name of the temple could not be seen clearly.
When Sun Wukong blew away the dust in one breath, Xuanzang recognized that this temple was originally the five big characters of "Ejian Baolin Temple", but this gloomy temple does not seem to be a place where normal people live.
If it weren't for Sun Wukong's repeated assurances that there would be no demonic spirit here, Xuanzang would probably turn around and leave immediately.
But now it's hard to see an authentic temple, as a visitor to the Eastern Tang Dynasty, how can I not see the appearance of Western Buddhism.
You must know that he learned scriptures in the west this time, but he wrote down everything he saw and heard, and returning to the east in the future is the basis for passing on the history.
In order to fear that his three apprentices would scare the monks here, Xuanzang led the white dragon horse close to this strange temple alone, retreated from the unlocked door and walked in.
After entering the temple, Xuanzang really felt that this was the territory of Buddhism, and the huge King Kong was the first to sit on the left and right, and there were four heavenly kings guarding the country, multi-smelling, growth, and wide-eyed.
The four pine trees in the inner rib are all pruned into an umbrella shape, which is a quiet place.
Walking here, Xuanzang didn't meet a Buddhist disciple, and actually came straight to the Daxiong Treasure Hall, at this time someone finally appeared, but it was not the monk Xuanzang imagined, but a Taoist.
Seeing someone coming, the Taoist priest hurriedly greeted Xuanzang, looked at the Daxiong Hall in front of him, and looked at the respectful Taoist in front of him, Xuanzang felt that the sense of disobedience seemed to be a little big.
"Where did Master come from?" The Taoist dressed in a Taoist robe practiced Buddhist etiquette, and he did not neglect Xuanzang.
"The disciple was sent down by the Tang Dynasty from the East to the West to worship the Buddha and ask for scriptures, passing through the treasure land and staying overnight." Xuanzang's appearance as a high-ranking monk was so convincing that the Taoist hurriedly entered it to notify the real monk to come and greet him.
When the Taoist called out the real monk, before Xuanzang saw the ceremony, the monk was furious.
"Daoist less fighting, don't you know that I am a monk who is specially here to receive scholars, a wandering monk like this, just ask him to squat under the eaves, and report me to something." In front of Xuanzang, the monk was completely a businessman's philistine face, and he didn't even give a glance to it, and turned his head and left.
Looking at such a monk, and then looking at the magnificence of the Daxiong Treasure Hall, Xuanzang didn't know what to say at all, and the grievances in his heart didn't need to be said.
After thousands of miles of passing through this place, he actually received such treatment, is this still a temple in the west? Doesn't it mean that this is the Pure Land of Buddhism? It doesn't look like it.
Xuanzang's glass heart was hit by a huge blow at this moment, and he even had the heart to ask his apprentice to come in and clean up the other party, so he was suspended.
The philistine monk was gone, but Xuanzang's mind to worship the Buddha was sincere, he saw that the person was not the abbot here, the world temple was a family, and he came directly to the abbot's residence along the road.
Standing outside the door, there was indeed an old monk inside, with a sad face and didn't know what he was doing.
"The disciple is sent by the Eastern Tang Dynasty to worship the living Buddha in the west to seek scriptures, and after the treasure side of the night, he begged to borrow a night, and it is convenient for the old master of Wanwang." Xuanzang told his origin, and when he told his origin in the past, the other party was all amazed and thought a lot of highly of him.
But today is strange, the old monk is basically indifferent to Xuanzang's origin.
"Due west, only four or five miles away, there is a thirty-mile shop, there are people selling food in the store, which is convenient for good accommodation. It's inconvenient for me to stay here, so it's not good for you monks to stay far away. The old monk would not look back, and directly rejected Xuanzang's request to stay overnight, and told him where to go.
But for Xuanzang, the temple is his real home, and it will be satisfied if he can live here, can the conditions be worse than in the wilderness?
Xuanzang refused to leave, and repeatedly asked to stay here for one night, as long as there was a vacant room.
The monk finally turned his face, with a sad face, and explained the reason why he was reluctant to receive foreign monks.
It turned out that this temple was not like this in the past, but one day, a few poor monks came outside, basically unclothed, with yellow faces and thin muscles, so he kindly took in the other party.
This take-in caused trouble, these monks did not understand the Dharma at all, not to mention, and were lazy to an astonishing point, and their attitude was also terrible to death, offending all the believers here.
It's good to say on the front that this old monk has done everything possible to clean up and be able to see people, but the guest room in the back is basically dilapidated.
Because except for a few of the houses where they lived, the other windows were removed by lazy monks and burned in the winter.
Hearing about the monks who were lazy to this point, Xuanzang was unheard of, and when it came to this point, Xuanzang could only go out of the room sullenly.
When his apprentice saw the master's appearance, he thought that he was angry with the people inside, Sun Wukong jumped in, grabbed a monk and asked the other party to prepare the guest room well, otherwise he wanted the other party to look good.
Frightened by Sun Wukong, Xuanzang unexpectedly lived here, and it was a fairly clean guest room.
Nonsense, no matter how lazy you are, in the face of a few monsters, you are almost not scared to death, how dare you have any slackness.
The residence is to stay, but in terms of food, it only provides Xuanzang's food, and there is absolutely nothing else, and if it is given to these three big stomach kings, the whole temple can only drink the northwest wind.
Finally settled down here, returned to the long-lost temple, Xuanzang was even much more interested, after eating, began to review the scriptures, unconsciously in the middle of the night to have sleep, deep sleep.
In the dream, Xuanzang suddenly heard someone calling him, looked up, and was almost scared to death, it turned out to be a water ghost calling him.
There are ghosts in the temple, which Xuanzang has never heard of before, which shows that the ability of the Pure Land of Buddhism has basically been lost here.
"Master, look up at me." The water ghost said this to Xuanzang, which made Xuanzang look at it involuntarily, and then he realized that the water ghost was actually wearing a dragon robe.
Xuanzang forgot his fear, and hurriedly stepped forward to talk, only to find out that it was a ghost.
From the mouth of this water ghost, Xuanzang finally knew that the other party was the king of the Wuji country here, and also understood a grievance against the other party. (To be continued.) )
