Chapter 16: The Ancient Origins
Actually, as far as the story told by Lisa herself is concerned, it is still very good. Even if her narration skills are lacking, it still does not affect the overall coherence of the story.
As one of the few listeners and the "judges" of the judges, we are naturally "better than nothing". When Duoduo and Qian Cheng and I were about to sentence Lisa to win, the old ghost was the first to be reluctant, and said nonsense: "No, no, no!" The ending of the story is too far-fetched, and this jump becomes a green dragon, which is really unreasonable. It's unreasonable, it's unreasonable! I didn't qualify. β
"You're ......!" Lisa saw that the old ghost was trying to make things difficult, and she was angry that her face was red and her neck was thick, and she said, "You are messing around, and it is a helpless act!" I let everyone say, I believe in justice in the hearts of the people! β
Hearing Lisa say that, several of us laughed. %β,βansβ‘βm look at it like this.,Lisa is in the old ghost's set.,Can't get out.γ So Lisa said angrily, "If you have the ability, you can tell one!" β
"Just talk about it, I'm afraid of you!" As soon as the old ghost heard that Lisa was provoking him, he agreed.
Among the few of us, the one who smiled the most was the old man who came with us. I heard his hearty laughter, and I remembered that he had brought up the topic. It's just that Lisa just preempted herself and talked about it herself. And what the seniors want to say, they haven't said anything specific. So I made a stop gesture to the old ghost who was about to speak, and said, "This topic was raised by my predecessor, and he hasn't said it yet, so I'll let you rob it." This is not good, let the seniors say it first, and then you will talk about it after speaking. When the time comes, we will be judging who wins and who loses. β
When the old ghost heard me say this, he had no choice but to keep silent and wait for his predecessor to speak.
"Haha, this doesn't matter. It's all idle chatter, no matter who says it's the same. When the old man saw that I had changed the subject to him, he smiled and said, "Since you don't talk about it, then I'll talk about what attracts me." Because I was personally very interested in China, I read through all kinds of history about China. What blah blah blah. But. What interests me the most is the ancient society of China. He, like Egypt, is full of fascinating mysteries. β
Hearing the old man say this, I really want to hear it too. Because if the other party is talking about modern and modern history, I can still talk to him. But when it comes to ancient times, I really don't know what to do. Today, there is just such an opportunity for him to teach us a lesson, which is equivalent to filling in the blank area of our understanding of Chinese history.
So the few of us present listened attentively to the old man's story about the dragon that he knew.
The old man said, "In the history of China." Up to the era of the Yellow Emperor, there is a legend that the Yellow Emperor ascended to heaven by the dragon and the dragon helped the Yellow Emperor defeat Chiyou; Xia Yu controls the water, and legend has it that there is a dragon who draws the ground into a river with his tail to channel the flood; Liu Bang, the ancestor of the Han Dynasty, is said to have been pregnant and born by his mother in a dream of mating with a red dragon. From these many stories and legends, we can see that the Chinese often focus on various virtues and excellent qualities on the dragon. This shows how far-reaching the influence of dragons on the Chinese is.
Legend has it that every year on the second day of the second lunar month, it is what you commonly call 'the dragon raises its head'. There is also the tradition of fried corn, which is to commemorate Yilong to relieve the suffering of drought in the world. Even at the expense of offending the rules of heaven.
Legend has it that Yilong was imprisoned by the Jade Emperor because he couldn't bear the suffering of the people and helped the people to rain. Therefore, it was established that only the golden beans would be released when they bloomed.
The people gathered to fry the corn because of their gratitude to the righteous dragon, and because it looked like a golden bean blooming, the Tai Bai Xing in charge mistook it, and released the jade dragon. And every year on the second day of February, the tradition of 'fried corn' has been handed down in this way.
Of course, in the legend, there is 'righteous dragons for good', so naturally there are also 'evil dragons for evil'.
With the opening of people's wisdom. Factors such as the introduction of Buddhist beliefs have changed the image of the dragon king among the people. As one of the Taoist traditions, the dragon king has also begun to play the role of a villain.
Many places in China named after the word 'dragon' also have legends of dragons, and there are also stories of evil dragons wreaking havoc.
For example, you have Heilongjiang in the northeast.
Legend has it that there was a white dragon in the past, and then a family in a village by the river was in labor. and gave birth to a black dragon. It turned out that the black dragon had come to help the people who had been killed by the white dragon to get rid of the white dragon, and the villagers followed its instructions and finally eradicated the white dragon.
People named the river Heilongjiang in honor of the black dragon.
Another example is that there is a Wolong Lake in Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan Province, and there is a golden stone beam at the bottom of the lake, which is said to be the incarnation of the white dragon.
There are two big rivers near Jiuzhaigou, one is called 'Heishui River', which is said to have lived a big black dragon a long time ago, and the other is called 'Bailong River', where a small white dragon lives.
The black dragon was jealous of the scenery of Jiuzhaigou, and sucked the lake water there dry. After the little white dragon knew, he sprayed the water of the Bailong River to Jiuzhaigou to restore its beautiful scenery.
After the black dragon found out, he started a vicious battle with the white dragon, and the fact is, of course, that evil does not prevail over good. When the black dragon was defeated by the white dragon, the little white dragon was forced to flee to one of the lakes in Jiuzhaigou.
The black dragon alarmed the Tibetan god of all mountains in order to find out the whereabouts of the white dragon, and was finally imprisoned by the mountain god and could no longer do evil. The god of all mountains gave the white dragon a set of golden armor in recognition of it, which is the origin of the legend of Wolong Lake. β
After speaking, the senior said all this in a slow and calm tone, and his demeanor and tone were tepid. When he said this, I couldn't get enough of it. Because the stories he told were all point-to-point, and he didn't go into depth, which inevitably made us feel a little uncomfortable. For example, "what method did the black dragon teach people" did not go into detail.
When I was about to ask, the old man himself led to what I wanted: "I just mentioned the 'Dayu water control', I believe you are all familiar with it, right?" β
"Of course I know!" The old ghost was the first to reply, and a few of us nodded affirmatively.
When the old man saw us nodding his head, he said: "A legend that impresses me is like this: it is said that Dayu has three magic weapons to control the water: one is the river map and jade slip given to him by Fuxi; The second is Ying Long in the sky, who rows the ground with his tail and gives him direction. Dayu followed the line of Yinglong's tail and led the migrant workers to dig the river and channel the flood; The third is the big tortoise, which throws the polyth and polygons into low-lying places.
One day, a black dragon rolled over in the flood by the dam, making waves, and collapsed the dam that Dayu and they had worked so hard to build. When Dayu saw the situation, he wanted to correct it.
Ying Long told King SΓΉ Yu: 'This is a brute dragon who specializes in bad things. Its evil spirit is too heavy to be corrected. β
So the turtle took Dayu up a high mountain to investigate the situation.
After arriving at the high mountain, Yu saw a pair of snow-white dazzling dragon horns on the black dragon's head, which was playing and churning, and set off huge waves from time to time. So Dayu went over to command it, but it ignored it completely.
So Dayu took out a small multicolored polyp stone and put it on the tip of the turtle's tail. Only a 'boom' was heard, and the polystone immediately became a huge boulder.
With a flick of the tortoise's tail, the sky made a hazy rainbow-like arc. Speaking of God, the multicolored polyp stone landed impartially between the two dragon horns on the top of the Oolong's brain.
At this time, Oolong laughed and said, 'What can this little flower and stone do to me?' β
But before he finished his words, the multicolored polycyp was expanding and growing all the time. After a while, it tightened the two horns of the brute dragon, and it shook its head in pain. But the multicolored polyp stone continued to grow, and finally the brute dragon could not bear the severe pain and had to surrender.
Since then, Dayu has a right-hand man - Manlong, waiting for Dayu's dispatch. It is said that this has also become one of the indispensable factors for Dayu to successfully control the water. β
After the old man said this, several of us were surprised. Because this is somewhat different from the well-known Dayu water control, Dayu water control has always been a controversial topic. There's such a passage in it, we really don't know.
Before we could come back to the taste, the old man said: "There is another legend that is closely related to this: in the area of Mengjin Old City, northeast of Luoyang, Henan Province, China, in ancient times, it was a place with abundant water and grass.
Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a monster in the Tuhe River. Its head resembles a dragon, its body resembles a horse, and its mane curls into countless whirlpools. People call it 'Ryoma' according to its shape.
It is said that this dragon horse was transformed by a dragon in the water, and it is extremely fierce. Its arrival caused floods in the nearby area, destroyed crops frequently, and affected people's lives for a time, and even made it impossible to survive normally.
Just when people were at a loss, Fu Xi rode six dragons to subdue Ryoma.
Strange to say, since the arrival of Fuxi, Ryoma immediately became docile and kind.
Later, according to the swirl pattern on Ryoma's body, Zhuxi carefully studied it. After sitting for 8864 days, I finally came up with a set of profound images, which are the 'Bagua Maps' that have been circulating in China. β
There is an ancient poem: 'The dragon horse is just for heaven and earth, and the Tuhe River first wins the hearts of saints.' That's what I'm talking about.
In later generations, in order to commemorate Fuxi and Ryoma, a temple was built, called 'Negative Picture Temple'. Two large monuments are erected in front of the temple, and they are engraved with 'Tuhe Old Road' and 'Dragon Horse Negative Map'. I'm sure you're all familiar with these two things, right? β
Listening to the old man say this, we really have the feeling of "sudden enlightenment" and "enlightenment". It turns out that this "gossip map" and this "old road of the river and the negative map of the dragon and horse" came about like this? It seems that we have to make up for Chinese history when we go back this time. As a son and daughter of the Chinese nation, the descendants of Dayu don't even know this, and they are really a little embarrassed.
Hearing this, the old ghost couldn't help but praise: "Senior, I didn't see it, you are a 'China expert'!" (To be continued......)
