Chapter 16: The Cave
On the English seaside, next to an unknown resort.
Ning Yuan and his party flew at a high altitude of more than an hour with a flying broomstick, and finally arrived at this destination under the leadership of Dumbledore.
The air was filled with the smell of the sea, and the cool sea breeze was blowing on everyone's heads.
Among the group, Dumbledore had changed into a new silver-gray robe, his long head and beard were neatly combed, and the latter had tied a bow with a bright violet ribbon.
Behind him, Ning Yuan, dressed in Muggle tracksuits, and Snape stood together, looking at the boundless blue sea in the distance, and the sound of waves whistling in their ears.
As for Sirius, who looked much better, he and Lupin were together, and their two pairs of eyes carefully examined the surroundings.
They stood on a high black rock outcropping out of the sea, the waves rolling and foaming beneath their feet. Turn your head to look. Behind him rises a cliff with a steep rock wall cascading straight down. Several large rocks, the one where the crowd is now standing, seem to have fallen off the face of the cliff at some point in the past. It was bare and desolate, with no trees in sight, no grass or sandy beach except for the vast sea and rocks.
"The entrance to the cave should be near the cliff, everyone look carefully!" Ning Yuan prompted.
Soon, the sharp-eyed Sirius revealed the crack at the bottom of the cliff.
With the help of magic, in a short time the crowd entered a large cavern through the passage that had been filled with the rising tide of the water.
"There's nothing here?" Sirius asked, along with the others, by shining his wand in the face and looking at the empty cavern.
"Of course the mysterious man would not put a piece of his soul in a cave casually!" Lupin said with a smile, scrutinizing the top and the rock wall as he spoke.
"You say that like Voldemort is toast, piece by piece!" Sirius grinned.
Snape didn't speak, frowning at the head of his head, before he spoke, "Are you sure it's here, Dumbledore?" β
"yes, this is the place?" Dumbledore said briefly. "It's seen magic, it's just the antechamber, it's the entrance hall." Dumbledore said after a moment, "We need to go inside...... It's Voldemort's trap that stands in our way now, not the obstacles set up by nature......"
Dumbledore walked around the cavern twice from the right, touching the rough walls as much as he could, occasionally stopping to grope his fingers up and down somewhere. Finally, he stopped and pressed his palms flat against the cave wall.
"This is it, the entrance is hidden!" Dumbledore affirmed.
"Next look at mine. Salsa! Ning Yuan smiled and called out his house-elf.
With the characteristic sound of Apparition, Sasha, clutching a large bottle, appears in the cavern. "Master, Sasha is at your disposal!"
He took the large jar in Sasha's hand, and as soon as he opened it, a strong smell of blood permeated.
Everyone had also been on the battlefield, so they could clearly tell that this was the smell of human blood, and they couldn't help frowning.
However, Dumbledore, who knew the source of the blood, smiled and watched as Ning Yuan pointed at the bottle with his wand, and floated half of the bottle of blood with his wand and sprinkled it on the rock wall that Dumbledore had touched just now.
Suddenly, the outline of an arch appeared there, radiating a dazzling white light, as if there was a strong light shining behind the crack. When the light faded, the blood-soaked rock in the arch suddenly disappeared, revealing a doorway that seemed to be endlessly dark inside.
Everyone couldn't help but clench their wands, "Albus, what just happened?" Lupin asked.
"Voldemort wanted his opponent to weaken himself before he could enter, and once again he failed to understand that there are many things that are much more terrible than the damage of **." Dumbledore said.
After that, several people cautiously walked into the depths of the cave, even in the daytime, but the cave that has not seen the sun all year round, is still dark, as if suddenly entering the night, just now the bright sunlight outside the cave is like a dream at this time.
Walking into the cave, they were greeted by a large black lake, the surface of which was so wide that they could not see the opposite shore in the distance. Only the middle of the lake could be seen, a hazy, green light flickering, reflected in the dead silence of the lake below. Aside from the wands of the Crowd, there was no other light in the cavern.
"Is the Horcrux in the center of the lake, or is it in the lake?" Snape frowned, looking at the terrible conditions.
"The lake is supposed to be the Yin corpse that protects Voldemort's Horcruxes!" Dumbledore checked his surroundings with the glow of his wand, "And the fake horcrux that Regulus replaced should be in the middle of the lake." β
"Regulus is in there too?" Sirius's face was ugly, and Rael slept in the dark waters of the lake.
Dumbledore paused, "I think so!" β
"Damn Voldemort!" Sirius, like an angry Tibetan mastiff, let out a low roar.
Seeing this, Lupin hurriedly grabbed Sirius. "Don't worry, we're here to take him home, calm down Sirius!"
"What are we going to do next, none of us know how many Yin Corpses there are in the lake?" Snape also had a good relationship with Regulus when he was in school, and did not mock Sirius for his reckless impulsiveness as usual.
Dumbledore pulled out a golden compass, "This is a magic item I borrowed from Nick, Sirius, you just need to drop a drop of blood on it!" β
It was only after Sirius had finished his impatience that Dumbledore took the blood-stained compass and gently recited a spell with strange rhythms in an unknown prophecy.
After the golden compass absorbed the blood, a small blood-red magical aura came out from the tip of the compass needle, and it quickly circled a few times and burrowed into the water, and then did not move.
"At the end of this light is the body of Regulus!" Dumbledore explained.
"I'll go down and fish!" Sirius was about to undress when he saw this.
Ning Yuan and Lu Pin stopped him, "We just need to let them out on their own now, after all, this is a defensive measure set up by Voldemort, if you want to attack people, you will definitely be manipulated by magic to walk ashore from the lake!" β
"I'll stop those Yin corpses in a while, and you can bring the body of Regulus here as soon as you can." Dumbledore nodded, and summoned four house-elves like Ning Yuan, "Then the house-elves will take us to the beach just now." β
Several people looked at each other and nodded.
Then Ning Yuan walked to the edge of the lake and waved his magic wand, and the entire lake exploded with a bang.
Then, in the eyes of the people, the surface of the lake began to stir violently, and when the eyes were raised, Bai Sensen's head and hands were emerging from the black water, and men, women, and children, all with sunken, visionless eyes, floated towards the rocksβa large mass of dead bodies appeared in the dark water.
And in an inconspicuous corner, a pale body connected by the red light of the compass in Dumbledore's hand was among them.
"The flames are blazing!" Seeing everyone's target, Snape first used his wand to draw a brilliant wall of fire to keep more Yin corpses in the lake.
Dumbledore followed closely, with powerful magic and an artifact-level old wand, a golden rope snaked to tie up the dozens of Yin Corpses who had been lucky enough to come ashore, and the bound Yin Corpses remained motionless, as if they had lost power.
With the two of them, Ning Yuan, Sirius, and Lupin also put down the other Yin corpses one by one, and finally left only a Yin corpse with a red light in the heart staggering towards everyone.
"Rael!" Sirius choked out, and Lupin petrified Regulus with a wave of his wand, and then, despite everyone's obstruction, Sirius pounced and hugged the other.
