Chapter 49: A Sweep of the World
The capture of King's Landing officially represented the final victory of the Northern Alliance, the death of the puppet king Joffrey at the hands of the rebels, and the entry of the Northern Alliance into King's Landing, and the "Battle of the King's Choice" came to an end under such turmoil.
However, there is one more important issue that needs to be solved, and that is: who will be the king?
In the hearts of the northern nobles, Robb, the young wolf lord, is the most suitable candidate, he is the rightful heir of Lord Eddard, Duke Stark, and the king of the north they elected. Unfortunately, the bloody wedding cost him a broken leg, and the death of his wife and children made him lose all his ambitions.
A person with a disability is not qualified to be a king.
There are only two people who are eligible to run for the throne, Bran Stark and Sauron Melkor.
The answer is self-explanatory.
The war was won almost exclusively by the northerners under the leadership of Sauron, whose exploits are indelible. Compared to the northern army, which suffered heavy casualties, Sauron's army suffered few fatal blows, and Sauron had a heavy army, and the northern nobles had to consider whether the election of Bran as king would anger the powerful earl.
This concern became clear to Mrs. Stark after she publicly declared that she did not support Bran as queen, and all the nobles immediately made their position clear and unanimously elected Sauron Melko as king, and they comforted themselves in their hearts, after all, he married the daughter of the Stark family, and in a sense was a Stark man.
So, at noon on the third day of King's Landing, before the Cathedral of the Silent Sisters, and in the presence of tens of thousands of the city's inhabitants, all the nobles of the North, the Riverlands, and the Iron Isles Greyjoy swore allegiance to their new king, known as Sauron Melko I.
After this, King Zoro canonized the Bran Stark family as the eternal Duke of Stark, Lord of Winterfell, and Guardian of the North.
Both sides rejoiced.
However, the war in Westeros was not yet over.
Although the royalist coalition was almost completely lost after the Battle of the Blackwater, many families in the West, South, and East, led by the Lannisters, Tyrells, and Arryns, were unwilling to submit to the rule of Merko I, and they firmly guarded their castles with their remaining troops and declared their independence.
The Martel family of Dorne also refused to obey King's Landing's orders, and only the Martell family survived this war, and they were also quite emboldened to do so.
At the same time, the Baratheon family was not willing to be stripped of the Iron Throne, and Stannis sent his emissary, Davos "The Onion Knight", to King's Landing, demanding that the nobles of the North make him king.
"My lord Stannis Baratheon is the brother of former King Robert and the rightful first in line to the Iron Throne." In the throne room, the onion knight solemnly announced.
Sitting on the Iron Throne forged by the sword, with his hands crossed under his chin, Sauron listened to the Onion Knight's story and said, "Baratheon once had royal power, but it is a pity that the buck did not keep this iron throne and gave it to the lion. Now it's under my ass, Stannis wants, fetch it himself. β
Enraged, the Onion Knight returns to Dragonstone to the laughter of the crowd and reports the result to Stannis.
Stannis was not angry, but summoned his sorceress Melisandre and asked her to tell him what the future would be if a war broke out.
However, when Melisandre awoke from the flame, she was terrified beyond measure, and even lost the graceful image she had always shown.
"What do you see?" Stannis asked her.
"Snake!" Melisandre told Stannis in a tone of utter horror that the prediction was not as vague as it had been before, but rather clear, with a deep shudder and surrender, "It's huge!" Larger than the entire continent of Westeros, it was born out of the Void and stretched across heaven and hell into the depths of the infinite universe. It keeps devouring its own tail, and at the same time it grows, and it is a serpent that is not old or dead, and it is infinitely immortal. β
Stannis frowned, then asked her, "What does that mean?" β
Melisandre was silent for a long time, and then she said in a firm tone, "I'm sorry, Your Majesty, but I don't think you ought to be an enemy of that Merko King, you will fail." β
Stannis looked like he was going to strangle her, "But you say I'm Allah's chosen people, Azor. The reincarnation of Ahi will lead people to dispel the darkness, and Rahlo will bless me. β
Melisandre gently stroked **'s cheek, "He is a comet from the Void, the Infinity Serpent that devours the world, and his power is stronger than that of Rahlo, even the great Red God is no match for him." Give up, my king, at least you still have me. β
"No!" Stannis pushed the witch away, his face indescribably cold, "My throne is up to me." β
A month later, Stannis gathered all the nobles and soldiers loyal to him in the Stormlands and launched a siege against King's Landing, but he failed in just half a day, and he was captured alive before King Sauron.
This short war, which lasted less than half a day, was also jokingly called the "ass war" for the iron chair under the butt.
Having captured Stannis alive, King Sauron was about to behead him, but after the witch Melisandre asked to see him, King Sauron agreed to have Stannis dressed in black and garrisoned at the Wall.
Eventually, Stannis was defeated, and he agreed to go to the Wall to become a glorious night watchman, along with a group of loyal soldiers, including the Onion Knights and Melisandre.
After Stannis departed, King Sauron allowed Storm's End to be succeeded by Stannis' daughter, Celine Baratheon, as the first Grand Duchess of Westeros.
In return for this act of kindness, Duchess Celine Baratheon and her vassals personally traveled to King's Landing to pledge allegiance to King Sauron.
At this point, the storm land is unified.
The second to sue for peace was the House of Tyrells of the High Court, who brought a human body of gold and asked for the redemption of their "Knight of the Hundred Flowers" Loras Tyrellle, but King Sauron refused this request, demanding that they count their horses and armor.
The Tyrells came a second time and brought with them a full ten carts of gold, which weighed as much as Loras Tyrell and his horses and armor. They also sent the most beautiful daughter of House Tyrion, Loras Tyrrell, known as the "Flower of the Court", and asked to marry the noble King Sauron, whose dowry was the weight of her man and the boudoir.
King Sauron granted this request, pardoning the Tyrells' "sins" of treason (having previously been on the wrong side in the War of the Elect) and marrying a second wife, Loras Tyrell of the High Court, who had a lavish wedding in King's Landing in exchange for the allegiance of the Tyrells and their vassals.
The river bend land is thus unified.
With the submission of the two great families, King Sauron was further strengthened, and after rearming, he sent an army to attack Kaiyan City.
And this war ended in a way that no one expected.
In Castle Rock, after learning of the death of his beloved son and daughter in King's Landing, Lord Tywin swore revenge, and he took all the gold from his family's treasury and hired a large number of mercenaries to defend the city for him.
However, before the siege, King Sauron sent Tywin's last son, Tyrion Lannister, as his emissary, to present a handwritten letter to him.
No one knows what the letter is about, but Tywin's face changes a few times after reading it, and finally he takes a deep look at the little devil and kicks him out, choosing to surrender.
King Sauron took Kaiyan City without a single soldier. Shortly after he took Castle Rock, Tywin Lannister died at the hands of one of his generals, who had sought revenge for his rebuke. (There is also a folk theory that King Sauron found someone to assassinate Tywin)
Now that Tywin is dead, King Sauron has finally forgiven the Lannisters for their sins and spared the lives of the others. However, he reduced the Duke of Lannister to the rank of Marquis, leaving Tyrion to succeed the family business.
As for the rest of the families in the West, they chose to submit, and the strength of the "King's Choice War", the first knight of the continent, has been deeply ingrained in their hearts, and they do not want to be enemies of this powerful king if it is not necessary, and now that the Lannisters have surrendered and obtained the understanding of this one, they naturally have no reason to continue to oppose him.
Now that the western frontier has been pacified, the next target is the eastern frontier.
The Arryn family in the East is not afraid of the attack of the royal army because of the Bloody Gate, which is easy to defend and difficult to attack, and Littlefinger is worthy of being the top master of scheming in Ice and Fire, he has successfully bribed Ser Lynn Cobray in the East, won the support of the Swing faction through his tip-off, and isolated his staunch opponents to support him against King Sauron.
However, when he began to implement the second plan, he died.
Littlefinger knows very well, Sauron Melko knows very well that he has betrayed Duke Eddard, his existence is a great threat to himself, and if he does not get rid of the other party, sooner or later he will reveal everything.
Littlefinger bribes the Faceless One with four crates of golden dragons and all of his own possessions shipped from King's Landing, demanding that he kill Sauron Melko I.
But instead of taking the golden dragon, the Faceless Man killed him on the spot.
Unfortunately, Petyr did not understand until his death why the Faceless One would rather violate his reputation and kill his employer.
It all started because of the assassination, when Sauron, who was still a knight in the tavern, saw through the Faceless Man who was trying to assassinate him, and agreed to let him go. In exchange, the two parties agreed that the Faceless One would kill the next buyer who paid for his life.
Petyr happened to be unfortunate enough to collide, and before the conspiracy could be carried out, he was stillborn.
Littlefinger's death drove Lysa mad, and she avenged Aylin's soldiers for the revenge, a move that was opposed by all the nobles of the Vale, who eventually imprisoned Lysa and sacrificed her to King Sauron.
Soon after, the nobles of the East expressed their submission to the new king, and King Sauron gladly accepted the request, and named Robert Arryn, the widow of Jon Arryn, the former guardian of the East, Duke Arryn, and placed in the care of his aunt Caitlin Stark until he reached adulthood.
At this point, with the north, south, west, and east successively subjugating to the royal power, most of the Seven Kingdoms have been united, and the only one that insists on independence is the Kingdom of Dorne, which is located on the peninsula at the southern tip of Westeros.
King Sauron sent emissaries to demand that the House of Martell submit to him.
The Martells refused, claiming that since they had not succumbed to Aegon's dragons three hundred years ago, it was even less likely to succumb to the brutal King Sauron today (believed by the Dorns to have been the Sauron's invasion that killed their prince's fiancΓ©e, Princess Messira).
Instead of being angry, King Sauron sent his army of Descenders to attack Dorne. He promised the Advent that whoever conquered Dorne for him would be canonized as the new Prince of Dorne.
This is extremely important for the Adventists, who are not tempted by the position of the lord of a country in this world, but they will definitely be tempted by the reward for quests of up to 10,000 energy points in the fantasy space, which can also be exchanged for a perfect healing in the real world.
And during this period, anyone who kills the Dorne warriors has the energy to be credited.
Under such a powerful stimulus, the Advent rushed to Dorne and caused countless bloody storms to conquer Dorne. After this period of development, the number of people who have descended from the world of ice and fire has exceeded 20,000, which is equivalent to one-twentieth of the total population of the already sparsely populated kingdom of Dorne.
The war lasted for more than a year, and hundreds of thousands of soldiers and civilians were killed, and corpses and wreckage were scattered throughout the kingdom. Despite the valor and tenacity of the Dorne warriors who rose up against the invaders who invaded their homeland, any resistance was futile in the face of the fierce, powerful, and almost endless Advent warriors who were more ferocious than them, and this brutal war made Dorne shed the last drop of blood and wipe out the last trace of war.
As for the Martell family, the original rulers of the Kingdom of Dorne, they were slaughtered by the Descenders.
In the second year of the new calendar, that is, the autumn of the second year after Sauron launched the "Chosen War", the kingdom of Dorn had already existed in name only, and the remaining Dornish finally chose to give in and offer their bloody loyalty to King Sauron.
King Sauron accepted their surrender, and he fulfilled his promise to be the new ruler of Dorne, the Crusader Shield, who had contributed the most to the battle, and their leader was named Prince of Dorne.
The last kingdom of Westeros was subjected to the rule of King Sauron under such brutal suppression.
So far, since the invasion of the Andals in Westeros to establish a unified regime several times, from the initial "War of Conquest" to the short reign of Baratheon after the "Usurper War", until the "War of the Chosen King" to establish the new Merko Dynasty, it has only been 300 years before and after, the royal power of the world of ice and fire has changed several times, and finally the final curtain has come to an end.
A new chapter was opened on the continent - the Merko dynasty during the reign of Sauron Melko I.
