Michael is the chief warrior of God and the leader of the Celestial Angels. In Christian culture, the deeds include the annihilation of the 150,000 Assyrian army that invaded Jerusalem overnight, the prevention of Abraham's sacrifice of his only son, the summoning of Moses to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt in the midst of burning thorns, and the capture and imprisonment of Satan, the ancient dragon for thousands of years. Michael's power is on par with that of the Great Demon King due to the execution of the creation of mankind and the battle against Satan, the opponent. In the Battle of the Children of Light and the Children of Darkness in the Dead Sea Papers, Michael leads an army of angels as the Vice-Lord of Heaven and the Monarch of Light to fight the army of darkness of Berel, the ruler of darkness.
Michael's other identity is that of an angel who counts the souls of men at the time of the final judgment, guides the dead to the "other side", and judges the fate of the dead after death. In Christianity, it is said that Michael guarded the soul of the Virgin Mary from being defiled.
In Islam, Michael is depicted as "a man with emerald wings, scarlet hair, a million faces and mouths, and a million tongues and tongues, seeking the forgiveness of Allah." The Qur'an records that Michael wept over the sins of believers and gave birth to the Seraph.
The sword in the right hand and the scale in the left hand are the standard image of Michael.
