Although there was no one guarding the side, when we passed by, we also found that most of them still had incense and candles that had not been burned out, and there were all Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. And the place where we are now is just a shrine, but it has left the words "night rain".

There are actually a lot of phrases about night rain, but according to the position of those two words, the word night is on the right and the word rain is in the middle, which means that this is a three-word phrase, so it is very likely to be "Night Rain Temple". There are many temples in the country, such as Night Rain Temple, or Feilai Temple, but that is just an overlap of names. A small Buddhist shrine, naturally it is impossible to call it a "temple" in vain, so I expect that there must have been a small temple here in the past, at least the kind that can live in people. Maybe the pillar I saw on the other side just now, I don't know what it was, was part of the temple back then.

I told Hu Zongren about my speculation, and Hu Zongren nodded, although neither of us is a Buddhist, and we don't know much about Buddhism, but this kind of logical question is still very easy to figure out. But Hu Zongren asked me, but why are you so sure that this is the temple we are looking for? That temple dedicated to Maitreya Buddha?

I said to Hu Zongren, in fact, most of it also comes from my intuition, because didn't the boss say it earlier? In the past, there was a temple here, and the one dedicated to it was Maitreya Buddha. But he didn't mention that there was a temple here at the time, presumably the demolition of the temple should have been before he was born, and there are farmland, dams, inscriptions praising Yao Gong, and a dark river, no matter how you look at it, it looks like a treasure land for building temples. I paused and said, besides, if there was a temple here before, maybe it was not only Maitreya Buddha who was enshrined in it, but maybe Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Hu Zongren thought about it and said, yes, it is normal to offer Maitreya Buddha in the Buddhist temple, but if the altar of the White Lotus Sect worships something else, it will be a little wrong. I nodded and said, on the other hand, I judged from these two sentences on both sides of the door of this Buddhist shrine, this is not exclusive to the White Lotus Sect, but an authentic Buddhist temple.

Hu Zongren squatted down and read those two sentences, although the rain is wide, it does not moisten the grass without roots, and although the Buddhism is wide, the difficulty is not good. These two sentences are very easy to understand. You judged from the word Buddhism that it was not the altar of the White Lotus Sect, right? I said yes, this sentence should actually come from a certain Buddhist scripture, anyway, I have seen the expansion or abbreviation of this sentence in many Buddhist monasteries, and the general meaning is almost the same, and this sentence actually replaces the word Buddhism with other sects, in fact, it also makes sense, that is to say, the great road to the sect, Buddhism's understanding of the matter itself is indeed deeper than ours, rich in a lot of philosophical and even truthful things. Hu Zongren asked me, so when you see these two words, and then think of the tea stall owner saying that the Maitreya Buddha enshrined here, but the temple has long ceased to exist, so in this case, it is reasonable to be regarded as their own altar by the people of the White Lotus Sect, right? I'm right, unless the person who hid something here back then was not a member of the White Lotus Sect, but if it weren't for that, how could the White Lotus Sect mobilize people to find it after so many years.

If you can't figure it out for a while, you won't be entangled. Hu Zongren and I expected that if someone hid something in this vicinity, then they should choose to be within the scope of the temple, and after hiding it in the first place, we would expect that one day in the future, someone would come to look for it, otherwise why hide it? Wouldn't it be enough to destroy it directly? So when I was in Tibet, I already thought that I would come to find it in the future. I paused and said, a place like this, although it is not inaccessible, but it must be a place where many people will come to visit, do you remember those cliff inscriptions on the way down the road? Hu Zongren nodded, and I continued, it is precisely because this is an ancient pass, and it is precisely because it has a very deep cultural precipitation before this, that these people have been attracted to leave inscriptions, otherwise what reason do people choose here. Moreover, let's assume that this thing is hidden by the White Lotus Sect's own people, so when hiding it, he will give priority to the altar of his own sect rather than the temple of orthodox Buddhism, so he chose to be here, it must be after the temple was demolished, but when the Buddha shrine is still there, this needs us to understand the specific time, even if it is a rough time frame, and it is also worth mentioning that the Buddha Tuguan was finally opened to become a park, which must have been unexpected. Otherwise, even if we were the two of us, we wouldn't have hid things in a place where many people come to visit every day, and it would be inevitable that we would be found. So in the previous time frame, we'll have to extend it a little longer, which was before this place was used as a park.

Hu Zongren opened his mind, and he said to me, so this time is after the temple is demolished and before the park opens, right? I said yes, exactly.

I haven't learned any criminal investigation skills, let alone Sherlock Holmes, my advantage is that I have a relatively keen observation, many seemingly irrelevant things are actually only half guessed and speculated, and the truth is often not far away, and the rest is just a need to be verified. And Hu Zongren's strength lies in courage, he can always carelessly turn danger into a disaster, but since I met, it seems that although the cooperation between the two of us is not seamless, it can be regarded as the icing on the cake. Call Situ and ask him, maybe he can make some new progress. This is Hu Zongren's suggestion, after the hospital is alive and dead, Hu Zongren will always remind me intentionally or unintentionally to call Situ, but he himself does not call. Maybe it's because Situ and I are more familiar with each other, although it's not a good thing to always ask for help like this, but the situation is urgent, and I can't worry about it a lot. So I took off my coat, which had been punctured with small cuts everywhere by broken glass, squatted down, covered my head, and began to call Situ. It was very late, and Situ had already fallen asleep, but after receiving my call, Situ still got up as soon as possible to answer for me. I told him all about the situation I encountered here, no matter how big or small, and when Situ heard me talk about the Night Rain Temple, he suddenly interrupted me, and then said to me, how sure are you that the last broken character is a temple character? I say eighty or ninety percent, or what else could it be, I have already found the ruins of the temple on the other side. Situ smiled and said, So I said that your doll is still tender, and the temple is never built across the river, don't you even have this common sense?

Situ's words, I was suddenly taken aback, maybe there is no relationship with the river, so I didn't think about it at all, or I selectively ignored it, temples usually do not stand on both sides of the river, which is equivalent to cutting off the road to Buddha, I don't know why I am very clear, but there is such a custom in general. The lowest-lying place has been confirmed by Hu Zongren and I that it was once a river, so the dilapidated building opposite is not a temple. So I asked Situ, if it wasn't for the temple, what do you think it would be? Situ said, have you forgotten that there are a total of 12 white bone pagodas in this Buddha Tuguan, which were built to bury those who were killed by the bombing when the Japanese came in, and most of them have collapsed, and as far as I know, there seems to be only one intact left. I told Situ that I really look like a tower when you say this, but it's not complete. Situ said that of course it is not the rest of the complete one, because the complete one is no longer at the bottom of the cliff at all. The one you find so far could be one of the remaining 11.

Situ went on to say that this White Bone Tower was only built during the war, so your time frame can be narrowed down a bit. However, after this Buddha Tuguan was opened to the public together with the next Erling Park, which was once the private residence of Li Yaoting, the richest man in Chongqing during the Qing Dynasty, and was opened to the public as a park in 1958 after Ren Baige, the then mayor of Chongqing, and Deng Xiaoping, so I can conclude that the time when the person hid his things must have been after the temple was demolished and before 1958.

1958, sounds so far away. I'm not a treasure hunter, and listening to this is like listening to a book from heaven. So I asked Situ, can you find out when this temple was demolished? Situ said that I will take some time to check this, it will definitely not work tonight, but you don't need to know so much, you just need to find something related to the White Lotus Sect, right? I said that I would find a collapsed white bone pagoda now, find an abandoned Buddhist shrine, and the Buddhist shrine would basically be dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, and I would not know anything else. Situ thought for a while and said, the Buddha shrine and the white bone pagoda you said are on both sides of the river, right? Am I right? Situ said, then you ask Xiaohu to hurry up and measure it now, and see if the position of the compromise is on the river from the Buddha shrine to the White Bone Pagoda in a straight line?

So I told Hu Zongren, and Hu Zongren immediately went to do it, and after a short while, he came back to me and told me that Situ was right, and the middle position happened to be on the lowest-lying river. Situ said, that place, look for it carefully, as for why, I'll tell you when I'm sure of some clues. Situ then said, is there anything special around the Buddha shrine? Can it be related to the White Lotus Sect? I asked Situ to wait, so I picked up a flashlight and walked around the shrine, and behind the shrine near the cliff wall, I found a symbol about the size of a fist.

The symbols look a little old, but they are much newer than the shrines. It is a round shape with a crescent moon, the round shape is red, and the crescent shape is gold.
