Book V, 18: Sylvais the Dark Templar

As a young Dark Templar, Sylves, like his twin sister Sylvia, has dreamed of becoming a powerful being like Stanphine, the Elder Archon of the Dark Council, with unrivaled ghostly powers, able to protect his race, and in the awe and love of all the people of the Protoss.

Because of the shared and connected learning method of the main nerve center of the Protoss, a pan-neural thinking network, Sylvais learned about his nation's tragic past early on.

From the glorious history of ruling several galaxies in the early days, the memory of the starry sky full of floating aircraft carrier fleet interceptors, to the split and hostility of the Dark Light Council in the middle period, the archons of the two camps set off a terrifying ghost energy storm in the starry sky, no matter how tragic the war was, the Protoss did not lose the unique dignity hidden in their hearts, and every Protoss people were extremely proud of their existence, believing that there was no creature in this world that could be more noble than them.

However, a turning point came when they ran into the Zerg.

In the beginning, this race was not as strong as it appears now, at that time it was as if they had just evolved from protozoa, weak, humble, a little bigger catastrophe could make them completely extinct on the planet, the only unique thing may be that they have a very rapid ability to absorb other good genes, shortening the process of evolution by tens or hundreds of times.

At first, the proud Protoss did not take this race of inferior biological structures into account, and they were immersed in the glory of their own higher society, higher organizational structure, and great power. They are only treated as a nest of strange insects that have accidentally slipped into their back garden, and they are viewed with a curious and inquiring mentality, thinking that they may have been the failures they inadvertently cultivated in the testing field on this planet a long time ago.

Even in the face of the Zerg, which was extremely weak and only thrived on this planet at that time, they also established a protective star field belt, and from time to time put all kinds of captured interstellar creatures on it, to see if this race, which seemed to have some kind of ability to absorb high-quality genes, could obtain a unique evolution, and maybe one day after that, it would be the honor of becoming an adult testing ground for the people of the Protoss.

The next development is indeed as they wanted, in the process of continuous cultivation. The Zerg became stronger.

The types of creatures they contain are starting to grow in color. From simple molluscs and echinoderms to slightly more complex arthropods and crustaceans, all kinds of organisms that absorb the high-quality genes of various organisms are created, and then they are constantly being eliminated. In the process of evolution that has been accelerated many times over. These bugs are becoming faster, bigger, stronger, more flexible, sharper, and more brutal.

The people of the Protoss were surprised to discover. It's just that for hundreds of years, these bugs have qualified to be their adult testing grounds, albeit the lowest kind.

And then. They began the trial.

Hundreds of thousands of Protoss descended here and began to exercise their strength and hone their minds on this planet, in order to get a chance to get up close and personal with the ghost. During this time, some people succeeded and became powerful fanatics, with exclusive armor and energy knives, and some people died, and their bodies were left on these planets, except for bringing back the core thinking body for rebirth.

And it didn't take long for the Protoss to be disappointed to find that the Zerg seemed to have a huge flaw, or bottleneck, and after being promoted to the testing ground where they could become fanatics, their evolution began to become very slow, just like those creatures on a normal planet, and no longer had the charm to attract the Protoss to focus on it.

Unfortunately, they no longer care about this ordinary planetary testing ground, but set their sights on the more distant starry sky, and they still need to find more and more advanced testing grounds, so that they can create more and more powerful Protoss people.

Hundreds of years after such an uneventful day, one day, some Protoss people who liked to fly Phoenix fighters to wander around various planets came back and claimed that they had seen the Zerg in many places, and they seemed to have evolved the ability to travel long distances in the starry sky.

The consuls of the Council of Light only regarded this kind of report as a joke, how could a low-level race without intelligence have the ability to cross the sea of stars, it must be some restless guy who accidentally let the Zerg get mixed up on the ship, and then brought it to these places, just like the energy suckers they hate the most, whether it is the border planet of the Protoss territory, or the Temple Star where the main nerve center is located, you can see this kind of guy who likes to mix in the spaceship and follow the footsteps of the Protoss to conquer the vast starry sky together.

It wasn't until more and more reports appeared, more and more star fields claimed to have discovered the Zerg, and even this kind of thing happened on the side of the Dark Council, that the Archons of the Light Council realized that they might have made a mistake and ignored this race with extremely strong evolutionary abilities, and had not paid attention to them for hundreds of years.

However, at this time, the archons still did not regard the Zerg as a worthy opponent, and no race could survive the attack of aircraft carrier interceptors that were more numerous than a galaxy planet. Therefore, the investigation work to these Zerg existence planets is on the agenda, and the consuls of the council plan to see if they can use the ability of the Zerg to cross the starry sky and popularize the proving ground, and they need more and more elite soldiers to win this parliamentary war.

However, an accident that angered the Archons was that the Protoss fleet sent to investigate was attacked, killing all of them.

They finally realized that this mistake was even bigger than they imagined, and that the Zerg did not stop their own evolution, but for some reason, they hid their evolution process behind the eyes of the Protoss, and in the past few hundred years, they had evolved to the point where they could deal with the entire Protoss fleet.

At this time, the planet where the Zerg was first discovered had completely lost contact, and several fanatics who were lucky enough to escape brought back more detailed reports, and more than a dozen extremely powerful troops appeared in the Zerg, some of which could rival the existence of fanatics one-on-one, or even arbitrarily roll.

And that's the most shocking news. The Zerg already have the guidance of wisdom. They set up a planet-wide ambush on the planet, luring hundreds of thousands of fanatics at the same time, and then killing them, leaving only a handful of escapes.

Then, the war began.

The Parliamentary Archons, who were late to their senses, finally took it seriously to save themselves from the mistake they had made, and they mobilized an overwhelming force of aircraft carriers to march on all the planets where Zerg were found, in an attempt to eliminate the mistake in the shortest possible time.

But hundreds of years of forgetting have left them completely ignorant of the current strength and situation of the Zerg, so they have made another big mistake. After turning the surface of all planets where Zerg have been found to be found to be in ashes. They smug that the war was over and that all the fleets were beginning to return home.

But only a few months later, reports of larger-scale discovery of Zerg appeared in front of the eyes of the Parliamentary Archons, and there were even reports of actively attacking the Protoss to occupy the planet.

It has not been without sporadic reports during this period. However, they only thought that they were the remnants of the Zerg army. Mobilize nearby fleets to destroy them. However, the Zerg proved to be more tenacious and powerful than they thought.

After a more detailed investigation and the lessons learned during the war, the parliamentary consuls found out.

They reproduce incredibly quickly. It takes half a year to completely occupy a planet and cover all the places, and then you can produce a steady stream of soldiers.

The composition of their troops is completely aimed at the forces of the Protoss, the same fast and flexible special bugs against the fanatics, the same long-range attacks against the Alien Snake against the Stalker, the same with multiple attacks against the Phoenix Fighters, the same number of explosive insects against the aircraft carrier interceptors, and many more, all of which seem to be specifically designed to deal with the Protoss.

Their combat mode also replicates the system that the Protoss has been proud of for thousands of years, descending quickly, attacking at key points, establishing strongholds, and then covering them with massive troops, and even developing a full-scale rollout tactic on top of this, because they reproduce faster and can spread across the stars at a virus-like spreading speed, as long as a range is not intercepted, they cannot be destroyed.

Even on those Zerg planets that they thought had been wiped out, they saw these things active again, and the number was not much less at all. Because in order to deal with the powerful ghostly spells of the Protoss, they have evolved the ability to burrow into the ground to avoid the terrifying energy storm baptism.

On top of that, they control their troops in the same way as the Protoss, using a spiritual connection built into the entire spectral energy system, being able to accurately manipulate each unit to accomplish the tactical objectives they need, and being as obedient and intelligent as the Protoss who are instinctive and glorious in battle.

Then, the war began to develop in a way that the Protoss could not have imagined.

The number of Zerg is getting bigger and bigger, and the terrifying reproduction speed and strong adaptability make them quickly invade the original territory of the Protoss, and expand their range at an increasing speed.

The people of the Protoss are fighting less and less, and it takes a long time to cultivate mature soldiers to become their fatal weakness, although in terms of individual strength, the Zerg needs to consume ten times and dozens of times the proportion to make up for the gap, but the continuous generation of military superiority has completely made up for the gap.

Even if the two parliaments were to reach a quick consensus, it would be useless to resist this new and powerful race together.

One planet after another was occupied by the Zerg, and the star fields that were originally floating with blue light were covered in dead silence and yellow.

In less than a few hundred years, the honor of the Protoss has quickly become a thing of the past, and the glory of the past has become an alternative irony.

Only the very beginning of the vast territory remains, and the Protoss has not yet established a pan-neural thinking network, the ancient region ruled by the Protoss, the main nerve center.

Faced with this cruel reality, the proud Protoss lowered their heads, and in order to avoid the fate of being wiped out by the Zerg, the consuls of the council gathered the remnants of the tribe and boarded the giant aircraft carrier to follow the ancient star map, towards the starry sky that they had forgotten for many years, and then the journey that lasted thousands of years to be hunted down.

In addition to these parts inherited from the collective memory, what Sylvais really remembered since he was a child is that the days of wandering on various planets will not last more than a few years, and there will be no deeper impression left in the long life of the Protoss, if he encounters the traces of the Zerg. She will even escape in panic by opening the star gate, and only a strong force can bring her a sense of security.

So, at the age of two hundred, they followed in the footsteps of their predecessors through the Star Gate to the few remaining planetary trials full of dangers, and completed the adult trials that every Dark Templar should have, in order to hone more powerful powers.

But the unexpected happened, and within a few years, a race with the ability to travel quickly interstellar arrived on this ancient trialground planet.

Found under the cautious watchful eye of many Dark Templars. This race, cowardly enough to survive only in armor, seems to have come in search of their tracks. Not only did they have information on a previously abandoned planet, but they also tried to open the stargate and go to the place where they had come.

Out of the lessons of the Zerg, they no longer dare to let a strange race easily set foot in the place where they once existed. They adjusted the coordinates of the stargate. Enter a dangerous location. A stargate area monitored by the Zerg.

These people died, and after discovering the movement of the stargate, they were killed by the overwhelming influx of zergs.

But at the time of death. The elder archons of the Dark Council have read their memories remotely through the pan-neural thinking network, the main nerve center Protoss, and sensed that an existence that seems to be a hope for all the people of the Protoss, there is actually another race that is at war with the Zerg, and has persisted for twenty years.

However, instead of telling the news to all the Protoss through the pan-neural thinking network, the main nerve center of Protoss, they closed it off and only knew the many Dark Templars who were present at the time as the medium of power transmission.

Sylvais knew that the council hesitated, considering that the current Protoss could not afford to be involved in the war again, they did not plan to take the initiative to contact this race, and even erased all the coordinates of the stargate in order to prevent the war from burning to themselves.

However, as a part of the Dark Templars who were eager to defeat the Zerg, they had no intention of giving up that hope.

Sylves and Sylvia were among them, and from memory she knew that the dead were a group dedicated to research, with a variety of names such as scientists, researchers, white coats, and so on, and that they didn't have much strength at all, and that they wouldn't be allowed to participate in the war. But the position of these people is very important, and the greatness of that race is mostly made up of things they invented, and which are themselves respected by the general people of that race.

Well, this seems strange to Sylves, because in the concept of the Protoss, only the more powerful the power of the gods, only the more qualified to study the ghost energy and the technology of the Protoss, there is no power, what to use to study these things, she can only understand the difference between the two civilizations, resulting in the difference in thinking concepts.

Fortunately, she just needs to be clear, the status of this group of people is very important, and the ongoing actions are also important, and there will definitely be follow-up people who will come to this planet again.

So, instead of evacuating the planet before the coordinates of the stargate were erased, Sylves and some of the Dark Templars stayed, choosing to make some contact with the race, if it could help them deal with the Zerg.

Of course, as a member of a fighting nation, especially as a powerful presence second only to the Archons, Sylvais still has his own pride. For example, even if you are in contact, you must have certain qualifications, such as those special forces members in the memory of scientists, these people who also have the ability to use ghost energy, are more suitable in her eyes.

If he can fight himself and have some evenly matched posture, then Sylvais feels that he can make contact. The other Dark Templars thought the same way, so they waited near the Stargate, waiting for the arrival of this race called Humans.

To Sylvis's surprise, the day when these people arrived was so unfortunate that it was actually the time when the terraforming equipment that had been left here a long time ago was running. The resulting surge will force the native creatures that live here to rush to the ground in a frenzy, making it difficult for even them to survive in the process.

As a Dark Templar who had just come of age, Sylvais and his sister Sylvia didn't want to take advantage of the danger, so they went to the device early, intending to wait for all the monsters to leave before going up, and then see who was qualified to fight them in the chaos.

But what the two didn't expect was that someone would survive the surge and quickly descend to the underground cave.

Sylvais naturally didn't know that Chen Xi's telekinetic hand had too many functions, and it could be used as a cover to close the transmission of sound waves to avoid being discovered by the native creatures here, so when she came out, she happened to take her sister to meet Chen Xi and the two of them.

The interest in wanting to fight is naturally great, and surviving the tide has proven the strength of the two, and for Sylvis, the rest is a matter of actually fighting.

After discovering Chen Xi's intention to enter the device, she and her sister Sylvia had already divided their respective targets through psychic connection. The elder sister fights the stronger male, and as the younger sister, she is naturally assigned to the female who will be weaker.

However, things turned out completely unexpectedly for Silves.

Although she recognized their strength, the result was not what she wanted.

The strength of these two people is indeed very strong, you can feel their surprise attack at the beginning, and the follow-up counterattack is also very fierce, the stealth ability that the Dark Templars are proud of is targeted, and they quickly expose their bodies from sneak attackers to attacked, especially the female, who actually subdued her sister Sylvia in a short time, and when she escaped through stealth ability, she found that there was no way to help Sylvia.

"But don't worry, Sylvia, I'll bring someone to get you out." Sylves said in the direction of the shield before leaving the underground cavern. (To be continued......)
