Chapter One Thousand and Seventy-Eight
"Hey, Nick!" Van Lin greeted warmly, watching the guy who had been with Gryffindor since the fifteenth century and stayed here all day come out of the table.
"Actually, I think you're out a little early......" Van Lin said, looking at the empty table right now, Dumbledore hadn't announced the start of the banquet yet, and naturally, those house-elves wouldn't be on their own.
"Oh, so......" Sir Nicholas seemed amused, "but it's nothing, welcome back!"
"Oh, thank you, Sir Nicholas!" said Van Lin, the Hogwarts ghosts were still very loving, except for a few such as Myrtle, or Peeves......
Even Barrow the Blood's affection for Hogwarts cannot be changed.
Seeing that Nick was about to float away to find other ghosts, Nick was immediately stopped by Harry's fierce scream.
"Wait a minute, Nick, I have something to ask you. Harry said suddenly, and Nick looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"I mean, I have something I want to ......"
"Oh, gladly obliging, Harry Potter!" Nick bent over, his head falling off his neck, but there was still a piece of flesh attached to his skull.
"Hey, Nick, don't ...... that," Ron said, "we were going to eat......"
"I've got some questions, Nick!" Harry interrupted, and Nick looked at him with eyes like dead fish, in fact, as a ghost, you can't expect a ghost to be lively and warm.
Look at Professor Binns, that's a prime example, and as for Myrtle, she's going to be so skinny because she's been dead for a short time......
"I know it's ...... for you," Harry said, suddenly finding it hard to express, "I know you're dead. But you're still there, aren't you?"
Nick sighed, his eyes fixed on Harry.
For a moment, all eyes were on Harry.
"That's right?" asked Harry, staring at him. "You're dead, but I can still talk to you, you can walk around Hogwarts and walk through anything, right?"
"Yes," Nick said softly, "I can walk, I can talk...... But ......"
Van Lin looked at Harry a little strangely, he didn't quite understand why Harry suddenly asked about it, there was something about death......
"That means you're back, aren't you?" said Harry eagerly. "You can come back, right? all the ghosts. They won't disappear completely. Huh?"
Harry added, seeing that Nick was silent. Nick hesitated, then said, "Not everyone can come back as ghosts. โ
"What do you mean?" Harry asked quickly. "Only, only wizards. โ
"Oh," Harry smiled with a sigh of relief, "Well, that's good, so whoever wizard it is, you can ...... it."
Nick turned and looked at Harry sadly.
"No, it's not like that, you don't understand...... Didn't understand the world after death, so ...... The vast majority of people will choose to leave, that is, they will really leave!"
"What do you mean, 'gone'?" Harry asked quickly, "Where did you go?Listenโwhat happened when you died?Where did you go?Why didn't everyone come back? Why wasn't this place full of ghosts? Why ......?"
"I can't answer," Nick said.
"Aren't you dead?" said Harry, a little impatiently, "who better to answer this question than you?"
"I'm afraid of death," Nick said softly, "and I chose to stay behind." I sometimes wonder if I should do it. It's not here or there, actually, I'm neither here nor there. He smiled wryly. "I don't know the secret of death, Harry, I chose to imitate a frail life. I'm sure someone at the Ministry of Magic is looking into this-"
"Don't mention that place to me!" Harry snapped.
"I'm sorry I can't help you," Nick said softly, "then, then, excuse me, dinner, you know." โ
Suddenly, Nick floated away without looking back.
"What's wrong with you, Harry?" Hermione asked, "why are you asking this, and no one ...... it"
"Nothing...... Harry bowed his head a little dejectedly, and I went out for a spin.
"But the banquet ......"
"Let him go, it'll be fine......" Van Lin said, pulling Hermione.
Harry walked out of the hall without looking back, turning a corner and looking into the distance through the window, which made him a little stunned......
He turned the corner and walked towards the fat lady, when he suddenly noticed a man in front of him nailing something to the wall.
Harry glanced up and saw that it was Luna.
It was too late to dodge, she heard his footsteps, and Harry didn't have much strength to dodge anyone.
"Hello," Luna said, slurping in, glancing at him, and walked over.
"Why don't you go to the dinner?" asked Harry.
"Well, a lot of my stuff is missing," Luna said calmly, "you know they always hide my stuff, but today is the last day, and I'm going to find them all, so I've made a mark." โ
She pointed to a noteboard on the wall, with a table pinned to it that noted her lost things and clothes, as well as requests for their return. Harry had a strange feeling, neither anger nor sadness, though it had been that way since he knew of his connection to Voldemort. But after a while, he realized that it was sympathy for Luna.
"Why are they hiding your stuff?" asked Harry, frowning.
"Oh," she shrugged, "I think they think I'm a little weird, you know. Some people actually call me a crazy girl. โ
Harry looked at her, and the feeling of sympathy intensified.
"There's no reason for them to take your stuff," he said weakly, "do you need me to help you find it?"
"Oh, no," she said, smiling. "They'll get it back, and it's always going to be that way at the end. It's just that I'm going to pack my bags tonight. By the way, why don't you attend the dinner?"
Harry shrugged, "Just don't want to attend." โ
"No," Luna said, looking at him with her bulging foggy eyes, "I don't think you'...... You're conflicted, and it looks like things are bothering you about the Ministry of Magic. โ
Harry nodded, realizing that for some reason he didn't mind Luna mentioning everything about the Ministry. He remembered that he could see those strange horses, too.
"Have you," he said, "I mean, have you seen anyone die?"
"Yes," Luna said simply, "my mother." She is a wonderful witch who loves to experiment, and one day her spell fails. I was nine years old at the time. โ
"I'm sorry. Harry muttered.
"It's really scary," Luna said in one breath, "and I still feel bad sometimes. But I still have my dad. And anyway, I've seen my mom anyway, haven't I?"
"Uh-really?" Harry said uncertainly. She shook her head in disbelief.
"Oh, don't do that. Didn't you hear it all? Right behind the curtain. โ
"What do you meanโ"
"In the room of the Department of Mysteries...... They're all there, just out of sight. You hear it all. They looked at each other.
Luna smiled slightly. Harry didn't know what to say or think, Luna believed in many incredible things, and of course he did hear the voices behind the Veil.
"Surely you don't need me to help you find something?" he asked.
"Oh, no," said Luna, "I think I'd better go down and eat some pudding, and then come back and wait for them to appear, and that's all the way it all up." Well, have a great summer vacation, Harry!"
