Frightened
Under the desperate pursuit of the two of us, the blurred shadow finally changed into a life-size real scene. But strangely, there was only one last distance of less than five or six meters, and we could no longer catch up.
Patel's wife, Mia, was talking happily with her back to us, while the boy Billy was turning his head to his mother, muttering something in his mouth, but his eyes were staring directly at a new gliding toy plane that was fiddling with in his hand, and the girl on the other side of Mia, Lili, was wearing a particularly beautiful pink floral dress, and holding a little doll Barbie in an equally beautiful summer dress on her chest. At this moment, the little girl is quietly listening to the conversation between her mother and her brother. A picture of mother and son licking the calf deeply infected us. But I know that this affectionate scene is all fake, just to keep catching our eyes and keep us hooked.
"Stop blindly chasing after us, in fact, we are in a nightmare, and what we see is just an ethereal illusion."
"No, it can't be! Not only did I see my wife, but I also heard their carefree and cheerful voices......" Patel whispered affectionately.
"But you can't get close to any of them, not even their shadows." Although these words are difficult to say, they are hard facts.
"No, it's absolutely impossible! I believe that I will be reunited with my wife and children, even if I pursue the ends of the earth, I am willing. Patel had slowed down, his head hung in pain, as if to cheer himself on.
"But I'm afraid it's just your wishful thinking, and I'm afraid it's going to hurt innocent others." I continued to speak, but I didn't know anything in my heart.
I also knew that relying solely on innocuous preaching to manipulate Patel would not work at all, and that I had to find another way out. Suddenly, in a hurry, I picked up a palm-sized stone from the ground and threw it at Mia, who was standing in the middle.
Actually, I originally wanted to prove that Patel only saw the image of Mia and the children by using the scene of the stone passing through the past in an instant, but I didn't expect that with Patel's howl of "no ......", this image reflecting Mia and the children actually split apart. It turned out that this was not a void image resembling a slideshow at all, but an extra-large screen made of real plexiglass. At this moment, as the plexiglass shattered, it changed into several smaller, more chaotic and more abrupt images, and this sudden result surprised Patel and scared me enough.
In the face of unexpected changes, we are all in a daze. However, this sudden change is far from stopping, but has become more rampant. Now the same scene of Patel's wife and children gathering together is like a small movie suddenly accumulating around us, and there is a tendency to approach and magnify it so that we are caught off guard.
I thought to myself, rather than just here and watching the debris get bigger and bigger, I might as well run as fast as I could, and for the sake of safety. So I searched everywhere, and finally found a relatively large gap between the edges of the two large images on the east side, and then I pulled Patel, who had not yet recovered from his stupor, out of the narrower and narrower gap.
When I finally got out, I looked back and saw that from another angle, the slide-like images were actually large stone slabs that were gathering vigorously, but fortunately we escaped through the cracks between the stone slabs, otherwise the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Even if we do, we won't be able to stay here for long. So I dragged Patel, who was still in a state of confusion, through a long passage and continued to run east.
Next, the wide road is divided by narrow tunnels. To tell the truth, these accumulated tunnels are basically the same, which path should be taken?! I'm a little confused. At this point, Patel, who was standing next to me, seemed to regain some consciousness, and he waved his hand to the tunnel on the far right, and we slipped into it without hesitation. In this nightmare world, Patel is definitely the rightful master, so any action must be approved by him before it can be continued.
The tunnel was dark, and an eerie aura always accompanied us. By the faint light we turned around, but we could not find an exit. Could it be that we are lost, but this shouldn't be, the owner of the nightmare is by my side at the moment, could it be that this is another naughty nightmare left with a plausible problem for the master! What should we do now?! If you think about it, what a nightmare is is actually another window into the depths of your soul. It is absolutely impossible for this window to be closed for a long time, even a tall and straight building can be torn down and rebuilt, do you have to worry about a small window?! Perhaps it was the window of my soul that heard my urgent call, or perhaps it was my prayers that finally paid off, and as I looked around, I finally spotted a dilapidated old elevator at a very inconspicuous corner.
You don't have to look closely to see that this elevator is rarely noticed, and the mottled doors are quite dusty, dilapidated and dirty, but enough to catch my eye.
Just as I was about to approach the elevator, Patel had already taken a step forward and came to the elevator door. He pressed the elevator knob and said to me, "It seems that we can only rely on this elevator at the moment." ”
This is exactly what I want, but this elevator is very unlucky, Patel pressed the button a dozen times in a row, and the elevator door still did not move. Just when we were about to have to give up on this elevator, its doors finally "creaked" open. The lights in the elevator were riveting, and they instantly became bright, as if it were daytime. We cautiously walked into this devastated elevator hall, which was really flattering, not only was the walls covered with all kinds of graffiti, but also full of crooked small advertisements, and there were still rotten and smelly food waste piled up in the corners, I really wanted to escape from this smoky, smelly small space, but this was the only feasible passage at the moment, and we could only endure it.
I glanced at the floor button, and it was strange that the floor we were on was actually the highest floor of the elevator, so I pressed the button on the next floor next to it, but I was consciously or unconsciously playing an understatement joke with myself: "If I don't go to hell, who will?!" ”
With a dull mechanical sound of "clicking", the elevator slowly descended one floor. Just before opening the elevator door, we were still thinking that the place we were about to arrive at should at least be a safe place, whether it was dirty or not. But we were all wrong, and as the elevator doors slowly opened, our eyes filled with the size of a barley dog that was much taller than an adult. The huge hounds just looked at the elevator entrance for a moment, and then began to rush over. For these beastly Barley Dogs, I guess we're just enough snacks to stuff their teeth. Faced with the sudden rush of vicious dogs, Patel retreated into a corner in fright, and I quickly pressed the button to close the elevator door.
As the elevator doors slowly closed, one of the fastest hounds poked into its head, its surprisingly large head so close to me, its large, fanged mouth the size of a basin, and it was frantically biting and biting. One of my hands continued to press the close button, while the other hand grabbed a large, twisted and deformed foam lunch box that had been thrown on the ground nearby, and shoved it into its bloody mouth. My strength was quite strong, and the foam lunch box was large enough to prevent its sharp teeth from working, so the outcropping big hound had to shrink its head, and our elevator doors closed tightly. It was only then that I glanced at Patel breathlessly, and I didn't expect his eyes to be wider than a bull's eye.
In order to prevent another attack by the terrible Barley dogs, I didn't even think about it, so I pressed the floor button on the 10th basement floor, but unfortunately when we opened the elevator door again, although the size of the Barley dogs was a little smaller, they still gathered with their teeth and claws, and the state of terror continued unabated. We had to close the elevator doors again.
I casually pressed the button on the eighteenth basement floor, and looked at the flashing knob that radiated green light, and my heart was really uneasy. It took on an unusually voluptuous hue, which was very different from the dim light emitted by the other knobs on it, and it looked so bewitching and harsh. I felt as if I was about to enter the eighteenth floor of hell.
With the ugly sound of the elevator "clucking" and rubbing against each other, my heart became more and more up, and I wondered what the other world through the elevator door would look like crazy?! Patel could be seen to be nervous as well, and his large hands were surprisingly tight at the moment.
