Chapter Eighty-Four: The Twyann Basin
The people in the Tokroy Snowfield were temporarily stopped by the blizzard, and at the same time, the team from the Twyn Basin had not yet waited for the people they were waiting for.
"Hell twins!" The red-haired woman scolded viciously, "Do they think this is a place to go out on a spring outing?" How dare you run around by yourself! β
Ten minutes earlier, they had received a message that Morfi's flying ship had arrived. But by the time they arrived, the twins, who were supposed to be standing there waiting for them to greet them, had disappeared.
In order not to be noticed by the people of Roses, it was inconvenient for Morfi's flying ship to stay at the extreme point for a long time. So after dropping off the twins, the flying ship went straight to Morfi's base.
"Don't worry, Ella." Iori reassures her, "Mida and Mita may be naughty, but they must know what is important, and they may just be hiding nearby to scare you." β
"Or maybe they're going to find Roseos themselves and make a mess of it first, and then surprise us." Siruya said with a big grin, "You don't know the personalities of the two of them, so there won't be any problems." β
Sirua's words were met with a glare from Ella, and Ticharo reacted quickly by pulling Sirua aside and letting Iori pacify the woman on the verge of rampage.
"Don't be angry, he just wants to put you at ease." Iori sighed helplessly at the troublesome Sirua in his heart, "They won't be in danger, otherwise you'll sense it, right?" β
"Of course!" Ella's anger eased slightly, but it was clear that she was still angry, "It's better for them to come up to me and admit their mistakes by themselves, if I wait until I get them both out...... I'll let them know what the consequences are for running around in a place like this! β
Normally, Ella may be tolerant of the troubled twins and the enraged Rheins, but when she is in charge of the twins' safety, she will never show mercy to the twins.
While Iori comforts Ella by saying that the twins are hiding because they want to play a prank, they can't really do nothing. Although Iori's team is not large, it can be more or less dispersed into an array to find people.
As Iori made his arrangements, Ella waved his hand at him, signaling him to pause.
"What's wrong?"
"We're not meant to be dispersed." Ella's face was slightly gloomy, "The terrain of the Twyann Basin is special, as long as someone stands on high ground, they can see us at a glance, but we can't see each other. β
Said to be remnants of a war from millennia ago, the Twyann Basin is more of a giant crater than a basin. But in this pit, there are countless stone pillars that have risen for some reason, forcibly turning this basin into a labyrinth-like existence.
"But we'll have to find a way to get Mida and Mita back." "If they are allowed to hide in the unknown, it will be a nuisance if they are discovered by the people of Rossos first," said Iori mildly. β
Ella frowned, as if pondering something.
"In the end, I'll have to work a little hard."
Ella pursed her lips in disgrief, turning the cigarette stick in her hand back into a short cane.
"I'm sure I'll teach these two little imps enough lessons."
The usual charm of a feminine woman was replaced by an eerie menace, and she swirled her staff in her hand and waved it in the air.
Ella closed her eyes, her hair and the hem of her clothes were windless, and the transparent hedron on the head of the short staff gradually brightened, revealing a faint creamy glow reminiscent of twin hair.
Streams of pale pink light flew out of Ella's body, swirling through the air before rushing into the creamy hedrons. Strangely, the two different colors did not merge with each other, but instead existed in the hedron at the same time, intertwining with each other.
It was a few minutes before Ella opened her eyes, a sneer curling into her lips. Without hesitation, she walked in a certain direction, Iori hurriedly followed with his teammates, and Silua and Ticharo walked last, seemingly casually surveying their surroundings, alert for any accident that might arise at any time.
Unconcerned about the safety behind her, Ella strode to a stone pillar not far away. She slowed her pace as she approached the pillar, and she glanced back, stopping the others, slowly approaching the pillar.
She pressed her palm to the stone pillar, paused for a few seconds, and smiled a slightly hideously sinister smile.
"Mita, Mita." She said quietly, "If you come out and admit your mistakes now, I can reduce your punishment as I see fit." But if you have to wait for me to find you...... I'm not the only one who will educate you. I'll be sure to let Rhein know what you're all doing. β
No one could doubt the threat in Ella's words, and everyone in Morfi knew that the twins were not afraid of heaven and earth, but only Rheins.
Ella thoughtfully gave the two children time to think, but her patience didn't allow her to wait too long. In just half a minute, she began the countdown.
"The last ten seconds, my sweet twins." Ella's voice became dangerously sweet, "Ten, nine, eight......"
At this time, Ella didn't even dare to provoke Sirua, he stood carefully beside Ticharo, and even held his breath.
"Three, two......"
Just before the last number appeared, two petite figures appeared in front of Ella.
Ella's palm was next to Mida's head, and it was unknown how the twins had used to hide their aura, but in short, under Ella's strange magic, it seemed useless.
"Sister Ellaβ"
The twins lied in unison, you know, they are usually neither big nor small, and they will never call the good-natured Ella "sister".
"We didn't mean to."
"You weren't here when we came down from the ship."
"We're afraid that Roses will find us, so we're hiding here."
"We're a little sleepy and a little confused."
"When we see you, we won't dare to come out-"
If it weren't for the twins' big eyes, their sincere tone would have almost fooled anyone who wasn't familiar with their nature.
"Which word do you think I'm going to believe?" Ella sneered, her hands slowly resting on the twins' cheeks, and the two children didn't dare to move, "Am I being too lenient with you lately, making you think you can fool me?" β
Ella didn't give them a chance to defend themselves, she pressed the twins' heads together, then flexed her fingers and twisted their temples violently.
"Whoaaaaaaaaa
"It hurtsβ"
"We were wrong, we were wrong!"
Mida and Mita waved their arms and cried wolf, but they didn't dare to run away, or Ella would be even more angry.
The "punishment" lasted for a minute, and it was finally Iori's careful persuasion that the twins were spared by Ella.
"If you dare to act in the future, Mida, Mita." Ella stared at them and said in a deep voice, "It's definitely not something that can be solved now. You don't interfere with us because there has never been a time of danger. Here, you only need to take one wrong step β and you will pay more than your own lives. You know, if you seek death yourself, Rhine will not be angry, but if you also involve others......"
The two milky heads shrunk, and immediately obediently said that they would be obedient.
The Twyn Basin is vast, not inferior to the Tokroy Snowfield. It's not particularly easy to find Roseos here.
Even if they could stand on a high vantage point and look down, they wouldn't be able to see the Twyn Basin. The basin is not a wasteland without grass, there are still some creatures living here, and if they are far away, it is difficult for them to tell whether it is just the monsters here or the people of Roses.
After all, Roses has the advantage of living here for a long time, and although the stone pillars in the basin can be used as cover, they are not familiar with this place, and they are easily cornered by Roseos.
Moreover, these stone pillars themselves have some inexplicable mysteries. They must have some kind of magic, it's just not clear what it is.
"Based on what we saw on the pillars before, we drew a rough plan." Iori frowned slightly and said, "We'd better find a location where we can temporarily serve as a base for rest. β
"We've had a skirmish with Rossos before." Siruya grinned and rubbed the twins' heads, "But those guys escaped quickly, and they couldn't be found in a blink of an eye." If they always hide to the side like this, and sneak attack from time to time, they can annoy people to death. β
"There should be quite a few people on this side of the basin in Roseos." Ticharo said flatly, "Otherwise, it would be impossible to have time to attack us." The magic array is very important, and they need to have a considerable amount of manpower to guard it well. β
"That's right." Iori nodded in agreement, "So you need to be careful not to get strayβas you can see, these huge stone pillars affect your vision, and even if you turn around two more times, you may get separated." β
These are the explanations for the twins, and the twins who have just been taught will not relapse so quickly, so listen to their every word honestly.
"We've explored the southeast corner of the basin." Instead of telling them the information because of their young age, Iori handed over the floor plan in his hand, "The southeast area is not a suitable place to rest, I don't know if you have any ideas." β
The twins came together and muttered to each other as they looked at the page map, and after a few minutes, two identical smiling faces came up.
"Leave it to us!"
"Meritorious service!"
Mida pulled out what looked like a mouse-like piece of wood from her backpack and placed it on the ground, and it disappeared in an instant.
"Mida"
"Mita"
"Purpose-built exploration radarβ"
"Can find water for you"
"Can find food for you"
"Foolproof!"
The twins high-fived them for another collaboration, and Ella shook her head helplessly.
