Chapter 1: Encounters
The place where the Demon King Continent and the Goddess Continent meet, because of the enchantment that the two parties coexist, there is a distortion of time and space. There will be some strangely shaped creatures here, and some unknown effects on magic.
It's rarely visited, because no one dares to test whether the creatures are aggressive or not. Just because they don't come to the area where humans live doesn't mean that others will be safe and sound.
However, in this area that no one has visited for a long time, five figures have appeared.
Four of them wore goggles and a mask on each face, as well as a coat that could wrap people from head to toe, so that no part of their bodies was exposed.
The rest of the man looked quite light, no different from going out on an outing. But if you look closely, it seems that there is an invisible barrier around him, keeping the strange fluctuations in the air out of his body.
"Further on is the junction." The white-haired man said, "Are you ready?" β
The four of them nodded silently, they were going to cross this barrier and go to the Goddess Continent to carry out a special mission, they never thought that they would do such an important thing, but since this was the appointment of the Demon King, then they would naturally do their best.
For millennia, both levels of enchantment have held their duty here. But after thousands of years, it has produced a loophole, and this loophole has been firmly grasped by people.
"Like I said before, everything is just theory." The white-haired man whispered, "If I don't make it, you'll come back; If I pass and get hurt, don't panic and rest where I am. β
The four people behind him agreed unevenly, and the white-haired man adjusted his breathing and stepped into the transparent barrier first.
His figure vanished, and the four men followed him closely behind, walking into the barrier.
The inside of the barrier looks completely different from the outside world, and it is also very different from the normal composition of the barrier. Perhaps this was the result of two enchantments facing each other for a thousand years, but at this moment, they were standing in a wide gray passageway, and they could only see the faint shadow of the land in the distance.
The white-haired man didn't use any magic, and neither did the other four. Only the people in the back could clearly see that the white-haired man's side was surrounded by a strange spatial distortion and slowly burning his skin. One of them moved uneasily, as if trying to reach him for a halt, but was stopped by his companion.
The most important thing they should do is to follow closely behind the white-haired man and get out of here as soon as possible, so that his pain can be reduced. Even though his skin was about to turn charred black, he walked forward as if he didn't feel pain.
One man looked back at where they had come from, and there was already a large expanse of rich black, and there was no place for anyone to stand. But the distance ahead of them is becoming clearer, the end of the barrier is in sight, and they just need to be careful not to be left behind.
When they finally broke through the barrier and stepped onto land, the white-haired man almost turned into a piece of charcoal that had been burned dry. But he still insisted on using magic to probe his surroundings, and only after making sure that it was safe did he relax and lay down on the ground.
"Figi!" The girl's exclamation came from the mask, and she pounced on the white-haired man and knelt next to him, "Are you okay?" β
"No problem, Biya." The white-haired man waved his hand weakly, "At this level, it will soon be better." It looked scary, but it didn't hurt me inside at all. β
As he said, his skin was recovering little by little. The lifeless outer layer is starting to shine again, and it's only a matter of time before it returns to its original form.
"Oh, you can take those off." He said to the girl beside him and the three people who leaned over, "The situation on this side of the Goddess Continent is not bad, and the environment has not been polluted by the enchantment. β
"Finally!" A man quickly ripped off his goggles and mask, and pulled the hat of his coat back, "I'm about to suffocateβ"
The man next to him also took off her gear, and she shook her head, revealing her long brown hair.
"It seems to be spring on this side of the Goddess Continent." She looked at the surrounding trees and commented, "This is really strange, I thought that the climate of the Goddess Continent should be similar to that of the Demon King Continent. β
"That stands to reason, but the enchantment doesn't necessarily take us somewhere." The remaining man with short gray-blue hair said, "I suspect that the passage distorts space, and I wonder if it has an effect on time."
He walked over to the white-haired man, crouched down beside the black-haired girl, and looked critically at the man lying on the ground in front of him.
"Is Phigie really okay?" The girl asked in a chattering voice, "You have half of Lord Avos's soul in your body, and it should hurt to be attacked by the enchantment of the Goddess Continent." β
"It's really fine, Biya." He sighed, "My other half belongs to my mother, and her enchantment doesn't really want to do anything to me." β
The four men sat on the ground around a wounded deity, gathered away their clothes, and discussed their next steps.
"We should first confirm where we are." Lanoda took out a map, "We need to find the most powerful organization on this side of the Goddess Continent - it's called Morfi, right?" They also allied with a mercenary group called Fili...... This is really unusual, obviously a few years ago, these 'families' and mercenaries were still in a lot of trouble. β
"Seriously, dear Lanorda." Wokan looked genuine and put his arm around Ranohda's shoulder, "A few years ago, I wouldn't have thought that Kai would be able to marry a lamb home. β
The two men laughed heartily at the map, and Kyled glared at them, taking Bianco's hand in his palm.
"Much better than you anyway, Walkan." He pursed the corners of his mouth, "The 'prodigal son' who didn't even get the engagement ceremony done." β
Even if Segnant can be polite to Vokan, that doesn't mean he doesn't know about Wokan's absurd behavior in his early years. When it comes to his beloved daughter, he won't allow Wokan and Lanoda to marry easily.
The sight of Kildermo holding Bianco's fingers, occasionally touching the ring on his ring finger, made him happy. Not long after the clarification ceremony, they had an official wedding, which gave Bianko his last name.
Originally, Sigela wanted to take Linposha to live with Nobil's house, but the wayward Figilio bought a big house next to Nobil's house and dragged Linposha to live in it. The Demon King thoughtfully asked them to clean up these things before handing over the task of going to the Goddess Continent to them.
Considering Rosette's special situation, they still let Letty and Rosette stay at home. Not to mention that it will be months before she gives birth, and the child should not be born without the care of his parents.
The few of them sat for a moment, and Figilio stood up as if he had been resurrected. He moved his muscles and looked around at the distant landscape.
"I'm going to find out some news." He decided, "You stay here for now, and wait for me to come back." Even if you really run into someone on the Goddess Continent, don't worry, don't take the initiative to reveal your identity. Taking a step back, even if you do fight, there should be no problem. β
The white-haired deity said this and vanished in place, leaving Kild with the exception of a wide roll of his eyes.
"When will he stop talking to himself like that?" "No wonder Mother Linpersha is always angry with him," he quipped. β
He wasn't used to addressing a lady like that, even if it was his partner's mother. But his partner angrily insisted that he change his words, and found the name "Lady Linpersa" very unfamiliar. "I'll call Mother Tryg, why can't you say Mother Sasha?" For such reasons, Bianko forced him to change his etiquette - "Mother Linpersa" was the limit, and he would never choose such a stupid title as "Mother Sasha".
His mother was even laughing at the joke and didn't think anything wrong with Bianko's actions.
"Biya is right, my son." The lady even said, "That's good, isn't it?" βγ
The two older women stood and sat on the ground, smiling at them, their eyes of completely different colors and shapes bent into the same arc, and their expressions were almost the same. Kyild began to doubt his mother's opinion of Linpersa, who had said that the eyes of the mother and daughter were very similar, albeit of different colors. But judging from the facts, it is clear that these two friends who have a good relationship have a tacit understanding.
ββ¦β¦ Master? What are you doing in a daze, young masterβ"
His partner was arguing to bring him back to his senses, but Kyelder didn't want to pay attention to her. It's been so long since she was asked to change her mind, and she's still clinging to that one name. Although he could understand that she had formed a habit, she should break it.
Kyild glanced at her obliquely, keeping his silence. Biancole shrunk her head and grabbed Kyalde's arm.
"Kyikyi." The girl called out to him briskly, "Shall we get something to eat here?" Figi doesn't know how long he'll be going yet, and even if he comes back, he'll need to eat. β
Kyild snorted softly and tapped Bianko's forehead as he unloaded his backpack. As they were about to open their packages, Kyild and Wokan stood up alertly, their swords raised in front of them. Bianko and Lanoda consciously followed them, holding the defensive props that Figilio had given them.
"The vigilance is so high that people have to wonder about your identity."
A cold female voice echoed all around, unable to determine her source. Kyild's gaze moved slowly, and suddenly, a chilling chill hit his spine, and he quickly turned around and swung his sword. It collided violently with an object, making a tooth-aching sound of metal colliding.
A dagger gradually appeared on his sword, and this dagger was held by a hand wearing a black half-fingered glove. Looking further along it, a pair of red eyes were staring at him without the slightest emotion.
The woman had just seen her and then retreated, her silver-white hair reminding him of death. But obviously, it is impossible for any human who has a relationship with the god of death to live in the Goddess Continent and attack them.
Kild didn't attack recklessly, he shifted his steps slightly, keeping Biancole behind him. His behavior caused the woman opposite to squint, and her attention turned to the girl behind him. Her nose twitched slightly in the air a few times, then her face changed.
"Roses?" Her murderous aura spread out in an instant, "You have the smell of Roseos on your body. β
They hadn't even had time to figure out where this misunderstanding had come from, and they couldn't help but deal with her attacks. Obviously, they had to fight for a chance to speak and get through the fight.
