Chapter 7 Understanding
Two days before I started school, my dad finally scraped together enough money and left my tuition for me when he left.
I also became a diner at my grandfather's house for a while.
Soon after, the school officially started, and I went to register myself. Every day, in addition to school and homework, I cut the grass and feed the sheep, plus pick peanuts.
I went to my grandfather's house twice late, and he didn't have anything to eat, and he seemed to be angry, and I showed up on time after that.
And now I have to help with the pot before eating, the shabu-shabu after eating, and sometimes the laundry.
So, I was always on a tight schedule.
I want to study hard, and I want to finish picking all the peanuts that my dad got back before he comes back, and I want him to be happy.
The days went by in a hurry, and I don't remember how long it was. Anyway, Dad is back, but I still have a lot of peanuts to pick.
I listened to his conversation with his grandfather and knew that his grandmother's surgery was a success and that she is now recuperating at her aunt's house and will be back in a while.
Life seemed to be back on track, and I went back to my own home and didn't have to go to my grandfather's house anymore to be a diner. I started to learn how to cook, to make noodles, to learn a lot of things, things I had never touched before I was eight years old, things that didn't match my age, things that could lighten my dad's burden......
In those mixed days, Dad seemed to live in the lake, and he went out early and came back late. Just to be able to start peanuts more, I can't help him too much, I have to go to school, and when I come back, I have to cook, do homework, feed the sheep, and do laundry. He could only go to the field on Saturday and Sunday to help him.
But because I was too young and my ability was limited, I only plucked so many peanuts in half a day.
And grandpa and uncle will not help even if they have nothing to do, they will only lock the door and go out to play cards and mahjong, and will not go to pull a peanut for you.
At most, it's just to help you bring the peanuts home, and you're not happy.
It was a month later, and I was cooking in the pot house when I heard the sound of a tractor outside. When I stretched out my head to look, I saw my uncle driving a tractor and coming with my aunt.
I was stunned for a moment, and then I saw my grandmother leaning on the quilt.
I forgot to shout for a while, and my aunt looked at my stupid appearance and said, "Can you still recognize your grandmother?" ”
That's when I called out the sound of my grandmother.
How long has it been? It seems like a long time has passed, right? Daddy's peanuts were finished, and the wheat was planted. It was a tough process, but we all got through it.
In those days of endless bickering.
I shed a lot of tears, and my father swallowed his anger and sighed every night.
Why? Because he can't drive a tractor. At that time, the family had not yet separated, and the tractor he bought was taught by his uncle, while his father only sowed seeds and fertilizer.
The reason is that he is old and inflexible. So let my uncle, who was just in his twenties, learn.
Therefore, when the farm was busy, he was always angry with his uncle and grandfather.
In the past, because of my grandmother's presence, life was always better, but now that my grandmother is sick, life is not so good.
I saw with my own eyes how my uncle lost his temper while working, and he couldn't move this and that, but my father didn't dare to say anything. Because once you say something, then you can do it yourself.
And now that grandma is back, the old days should be coming back soon, right? What I never knew was that the old days would never come back.
