Monster Setting: Arcane Skeleton

The concept of the Arcane Skull comes from the DDO. Pen ~ fun ~ Pavilion www.biquge.info believe that students who have played DDO must have a deep grudge against it.

Arcane skeletons are formidable opponents for adventurers, though they are worlds apart from lichs. But for the average adventurer, they are no less dangerous. Besides, when you encounter an arcane skeleton, there is a high probability that there is a lich nearby......

Arcane skeletons are intelligent undead, but they are not to be confused with lichs. In addition to the difference in strength, the Arcane Skeleton will not inherit the memories of its lifetime, and the casting of spells and so on are also very different from the Lich. Although the arcane skeleton has a certain amount of intelligence, that poor intelligence is simply not at the level of casting spells. So how does the Arcane Skeleton cast spells?

When an arcane spellcaster dies, if his body is in a cold place, or if he dies from an attack of negative energy, then it is possible for him to get back on his feet and become an arcane skeleton. Because of their use of the arcane during their lifetime, after their death, the arcane will penetrate deep into their bone marrow, and after the remnants of the arcane are combined with the negative energy that brought them back to their feet, they can be used to release the negative energy again. Therefore, arcane skeletons do not need memory spells, their spells are cast instinctively, as long as there is enough negative energy combined with arcane, they can cast spells. They can cast one level 3 spell with a certain amount of negative energy combined with arcane, or they can cast two level 1 spells with the same amount of negative energy. If they still have mastered the Extreme Skill after death, they can cast an Extreme Magic Missile with a certain amount of energy, or they can cast a Mayo Acid Arrow with the same amount of energy. That said, they're pretty good. However, they are often only able to cast some of the magic they used most often in their lifetime, and their lack of intelligence makes their spells less ingenious. It is not very difficult for a prepared team to eliminate an Arcane skeleton.

However, Arcane skeletons are not simple, due to the erosion of negative energy, any Arcane skeleton will have a certain amount of necromancy, and is extremely familiar with the use of magic in that aspect. Arcane skeletons are rarely seen alone, and they tend to hide among a large group of undead creatures. What's even more troublesome is that the bones of the arcane skeleton have a natural enchantment, which has the effect of causing minor injuries to the surrounding area every 6 seconds or so. The stronger the arcane skeleton is, the greater the range of influence, and the more creatures or undead creatures it affects. This enchantment slowly restores the undead and weakens the living. However, generally speaking, as long as the action is fast enough, the impact will not be too great. It's just that the caster should pay attention to keeping a distance, which will affect the cast focus.

In fact, if it's just a "natural" Arcane skeleton, it's not a concern. However, the nature of the Arcane Skeletons makes them excellent henchmen of the Lich. In fact, more than one mage turned his apprentice into an arcane skeleton who was completely obedient to him before he became a lich himself. The Lichs will also turn the casters they kill into new Arcane Skeletons. Moreover, there are indications that some lichs disguise themselves as ordinary arcane skeletons to pretend to be pigs and eat tigers.

Judging from the experience gained by adventurers so far, the Arcane Skeleton is biased towards the use of attack magic - and it's no wonder, it's easy to think that the Arcane Skeleton has enough intelligence to effectively use magic that doesn't directly cause damage. The low-level Arcane Skeleton focuses on using acid missiles, magic missiles, and Yufu Ma's strong acid arrows to attack opponents from a distance. The mid-level Arcane Skeleton prefers to use Human Immobilization, Lightning Beam, Burning Blood, and Fire Wall. A rare high-level arcane skeleton that uses chain lightning and aurora beams to attack opponents. In addition, they are highly likely to use their magic in terms of negative energy to attack their enemies. According to survivors' reports, we learn that the Arcane Skeleton likes to create large clouds of death, and then hides in them with his fellow undead men, and uses disability against warriors, as well as retarded against spellcasters. Other than that, it's hard to see how much magic art they have. Therefore, even an arcane skeleton capable of performing level 8 arcane operations is far from being comparable to a lich.

Arcane skeletons tend to haunt tombs, dungeons, sewers, etc., and the largest known gathering place for high-level Arcane skeletons is the Tomb of the Holoca, and anyone who tries to invade there will be greeted with a large number of serial lightning bolts, wall of fire, burning blood, and aurora beams. The number of Arcane Skeletons under the King of the Dharma that can perform level 8 arcane arts has always been a mystery, but considering the number of high-level mages in the Desert Empire when he was alive, it is still terrifying. And those large numbers of mummies will not spare the adventurers, and the combination of the king's tight defenses and the large number of adventurers who come in search of wealth has caused a large number of undead creatures that were not originally available there.
